  1. On their face? That's quite the stretch. No stretch at all. All the elements of the offense are discernible in the documents and the actions that they related to.
  2. I didn't realize this was a forum in which anyone who doesn't criticize the Government is considered clutter... Oh, no. Not ANYone.
  3. After one year as a minority government they've done as much as the LIberals have done with 3 majorities over a period of 13 years in power. That's not what figleaf wanted to hear. Figleaf wanted to hear: "arrrRgHHHHh run! tEh armaggedON tORIeS!!! Or just an actual answer to the question. Because the tories rolled over and gave up. So that doesn't count as good. Did Steve do that? Horsepucky. Harper's government is one of the most determinedly unaccountable governements in Canadian history. Okay, I'll give you that one.
  4. After one year as a minority government they've done as much as the LIberals have done with 3 majorities over a period of 13 years in power. "Really? What have they done that's good?"
  5. They may just do that, or give it back to Holland and tell him he should wipe his ass with it. Until there is an investigation announced, nothing will change. The RCMP have documents that on their face suggest a criminal offence may have occured. A person who may be involved in that possible offence cannot stay as the minister over them while they look into that. Announcement or not.
  6. Please say there is an investigation going on. I haven't heard of one. The incriminating documents have been provided to the RCMP, have they not? Apparently documents have been provided. It is up to the police and prosecutors to decide if they are incriminating. That's the way our system works. And how will they decide that? Maybe they'll INVESTIGATE, d'you think?
  7. He isn't directly overseeing the investigation into his own actions. What a pathetic prevarication. He's the minister responsible for the police force. The precedents in this kind of thing are set. He must step aside, or he'll never really be cleared. What sort of lie is that now? What unfounded allegation have I made? None.
  8. Personally, I had thought that the advance of civilization meant that we were smarter and better organized and that governments would trend toward more competency and diligence. Not that I ever expected great things from the druggie fratboy son of Bush Sr., but the utter shambles, horror, and complete disaster that Bush's presidency has wrought has, frankly, come as a surprise to me.
  9. And an Investigation was announced? What do you think they are going to do with the documents, wipe their noses?
  10. Did we give them permission? If not, then absolutely we should do whatever seems appropriate to stop them. Where were they then, if you know so much? They were near the mouth of the Arvand River, is what I heard. Ever heard of it? Do you know even one shred of fact about the Arvand River? So what? Who are you to dictate how they defend themselves (if the British were in their waters)? If we didn't, we should have.
  11. Treason???Gave aid and comfort to North Korean and Palestinian enemies. When? How?
  12. Because you're a f[RULE VIOLATION]e, obviously.
  13. That was one of the worst parts! There was hardly any sensible revelation of tactics or strategy at all. The only decent part was early on when they were first attacked and the shield wall was forced back into the narrow pass and then broke back out. Everything after that was militarily ridiculous. Jumping about, leaving the line, throwing their spears -- feh! And why didn't they wear armor? Real Spartans had breastplates and greaves -- these movie guys looked like a battle at Chippendales for crissakes. So the plan is to make it 6 or 10 k before acknowledging it has meant nothing? The chauvinism! My friend, the only way the U.S. is like Sparta is it's warlike and has an 'S' in its name. The U.S. is much, MUCH more like Persia -- a vast, soft, self-satisfied empire.
  14. ANY state finding foreign military personel operating within its territory would take them into custody.
  15. Ah, don't be so silly. If the sailors were in Iranian territorial waters, Iran was perfectly within it's rights to take them into custody. That's not kidnappping, it's self-defense. I sure as hell hope Canada would take Iranian sailors into custody if they were boarding civilian ships off Halifax harbor. And BTW, attacking civilian shipping in someone elses territorial waters is an act of war.
  16. Yeah, right. If only there were no peacenik fringe in North America the Iraqi insurgency would be non-existent! LOLOLOLOL! You crack me up. It's like you don't care how stupid your comments sound. Like Jerry Lewis -- anything for the laugh.
  17. !!! And what criteria are you confining your analysis to to reach that conclusion??? You think Time is LEFTIST??? What wouldn't be leftist to you then -- Mussolini Quarterly?
  18. Please say there is an investigation going on. I haven't heard of one. The incriminating documents have been provided to the RCMP, have they not?
  19. Instead of braying like a Grand Canyon beast of burden, maybe you'd like to answer the point I've raised -- How do YOU know Iran is wrong about where the British sailors were found? Don't you think that's relevant information or something? Duh.
  20. How much do the Liberals pay you to clutter this board with your never-ending false choices about the Conservatives? Choices that can only lead to the Conservatives looking bad or worse? You're hilarious. You think it's okay for Day to be boss of the police force that is investigating him? Please say you do. That would prove your opinions are sketchy at best.
  21. :snort: Civilization may have some drawbacks, but I'm GLAD of it. Plumbing, medicine, corrective lenses, dentistry, recorded music, publishing -- Wow! I sure wouldn't want to do without those things.
  22. Really? What have they done that's good?
  23. And those people will use the incredibly self-serving posts on Garth Turner's blog as a reason to start another Harper-bashing thread... How much do the tories pay you to clutter this forum with whinging that any criticism of Steve is 'bashing'?
  24. If lack of knowledge were to stop someone from posting here, we'd never hear from a whole pile of frequent posters. Pardon me, while I have a dreamy-Homer-Simpson moment imagining the forum without [certain posters who I desist from naming]. Aaaaaahhhhhhhhh....
  25. You've managed to be both incomprehensible and incoherent. I will explain it in simple understandable English. Do you really suppose the citizens of Haiti really care what political significance, Michelle Jean role as GG plays in Canada? They only see her as an influential person of their own race, that has the potential to pour dollars into Haiti. This presents a racial conflict into concerning the appointment of a Canadian citizen from a third world country, (into the prestigious position of governor general), who in fact could pressure the government for extra tax payer funds directed to Haiti or some other third world country for whatever reason based on her personal sentiments concerning third world poverty. I always thought relating her appointment as GG, as being a very poor choice concerning what she has actually accomplished, ( a previous CBC employee), for the betterment of Canadians, as there are other Canadians much more qualified for the position. Wow. You've managed to be both incomprehensible and incoherent TWICE, despite supposedly trying to clarify your comments. I think racio-cultural paranoia must hamper the language centers of the human brain.
