  1. Oil companies come and go and so does the boom and bust economy in Alberta. Folks just can't seem to figure out how and why we get played the way we do. The reason is very simple and that is we are just messing around with primary resources and a large part of that development is foreign owned and controlled development. Alberta needs to grow a pair and start domestic development with provincial crown corporations designed to take advantage of existing opportunities and seek the value added production capacity that serves the publics best interest.
  2. Of course there is! This would expose Harper for what he is. Besides I think he has asked for it. It would not be polite to refuse after that.
  3. Its the SMART way out. This move would fry the PM, force an issue before the courts never before tested and open the door for real reforms.
  4. Yup. The feds and the corporations can say what they like. Those resources belong to the people of Alberta.
  5. Iggy can be a PM for free until 2012, no elections no hope for Harper. Harper can get screwed by this. There doesn't have to be an election.
  6. I really don't give a damn what the feds say about ALBERTA'S natural resources.
  7. Don't hold your breath on that one. The concept is valid, and it could well see Harper removed as a PM before his holidays are over. I sort of depends on the cojones of those in opposition. The GG could act against the government in this case and allow the "majority" to form a government.
  8. Harper or Iggy or even Layton can hire who they please. On the other hand, it says something about the people that hired them though.
  9. I would suggest that the makings are already taking place. By the 25th there will likely be some announcement to that effect. The coalition concept will either be full on or dead in the water.
  10. Anybody figure out yet that that PM manipulates these numbers at the earliest possible opportunity which causes grief for everyone but him. Lets not just elect the Senate and stop this from happening.
  11. There is no simple explanation. In all likelihood the real reason would be found to be less than acceptable to the public.
  12. That damned formula is the source of much ill will in this nation and it is also the source of much benefit. I don't like it at all, but its there and there is very little that can be done about it.
  13. You folks know how this works. The question is designed to provide the desired answer. What the poll means is that of the people who actually give a damn enough to be aware of whats going, that a large majority of those folks did not approve.
  14. This is all assuming Harper is still the PM. He could very well find himself out of a job before then.
  15. Looks like most Canadians don't like this action after reading the latest poll.
  16. Isn't that interesting. It seems their fortunes (CPC) are fading.
  17. Why not? Have you read the party policy for the Wildrose? Do some research dude.
  18. They had a reason, or they would not have done it. The thing is, are Canadians satisfied with that reason. It seems that we may never know because the may never come straight out and say why it was that they did what they did. All this really tells us is that they either don't want to tell us or that they don't think the answer will go over well with us. Either way it looks like they fear the public response, and in politics that fear can be smelled out by other political sharks like blood in the water. Steve may have made a serious error by assuming public sentiment.
  19. Times have changed Oleg. I am 50 and have seen a few things in my time. I remember when things were different.
  20. I will bet a dollar his name wasn't Steve....
  21. Wine, women, and song perhaps....
