No Extradition for Marc Emery
Jerry J. Fortin replied to DrGreenthumb's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The government needs to charge Emery under Canadian law and avoid the extradition issue altogether. To not do so would be bad political optics that will not bring Canadians into Harpers fold, a political blunder that could come back to haunt him. -
Close race or not, the reality is that the right side of the equation has been galvanized to their benefit into a single political entity, the same thing can be done from the left as well. Vote splitting is problematic for all parties, but the biggest problem is the Bloc. They are only a regional party, but they own a vast chunk of popularity that plays heavily on the rest of the nation. Any viable real political solution to the now normal deadlock will have to address both the Bloc, as well as the left/right split. I suggest that sooner or later some person will go after the apathetic voter and seize the largest demographic in the nation. Until then, a unite the left movement has the next best hope for success. Even so, the entire Quebec issue will continue to create a fog of political war in this nation.

Visible Minorities to be majority in 25 years
Jerry J. Fortin replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
We need to rethink things folks. Race doesn't matter, its ideas and integrity that count, not colour. -
10%ers Banned. Only Conservatives Oppose.

I agree with you CR, fire them all! That is what it will take to see real change in this country. The public has the power to do this, and it should. -
I think a better question is whether or not equalization does the job it was designed to do......

We know we are footing the bill. We know we are getting the pleasure of covering for services others get. We know there is more than meets the eye with respect to equalization.

Race is not relevant. -
The status quo is safe. This nation is not going to change anytime soon.

Canadian dollar likely to trump US greenback
Jerry J. Fortin replied to Shady's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
That high dollar isn't helping the west either. -
The only place this subject is going is toward a full public inquiry. Nobody is letting this slide folks and the only conclusion I can take from that is that it seems to concern everyone. Harper will need to start some radical planning to step out of this one because it is literally spiraling out of control.

How many folks do you know or have heard of that walked from a failed breath test? -

I think this is beginning to smell like trouble for Harper. -

I must agree. A cabinet members husband, and former MP gets a very nice break that most of us would never get. -

Here is Iggy's ball. The public will soon find out if he really wants to play or just look pretty wearing a suit. I grow tired of the political landscape and seek some sort of resolution to this bottomless pit of partisan foolishness. The damned government is supposed to be working for the benefit of all Canadians, and this childish behavior played out before my eyes for my entire adult life is a cause of concern to me. I see no positive future for this nation because we have no dreams and aspirations such as a political will and goal of achievement to strive for. The nation needs a visionary leader.

War is a crime. We need to understand that first before we go any further down this road. Society does sanction acts that are PROHIBITED by law....strange but true.

Is it time Federalize/Nationalize Minimum Wage?
Jerry J. Fortin replied to whowhere's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The opportunity to blame somebody is a basic right it seems. What of personal responsibility? For that matter what of political responsibility? Since we have asked those two questions why not ask what is the status of corporate responsibility? -
I hope you are kidding. The more you look into this crap the more you find questionable! Nonsense is wht the government really undertakes on a regular basis.
