What is your point?
-
No I didn't. The only thing that it gives off in the process is heat, but obviously we both know that it takes an equal amount of heat to vapourize the water in the first place, so there is no net gain in heat. So, if you are somehow trying to imply that it is related to global warming, I think we both know it is completely irrelevant. As I mentioned before, this has been going on for bilions of years, long before humans existed. If you aren't implying that it's related to global warming, and you have another point, I'd love to hear what your point is.
-
Huh?
-
Water vapor has been coming off the ocean since as long as the ocean has existed, and will continue to do so no matter what humans do. But anyone with a grade 3 education knows that the water vapour condenses back into a liquid and falls back to the earth in the form of rain, snow etc...

U.S. Presidential Elections 2008
gc1765 replied to moderateamericain's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
I'd like to see Guiliani win for the Republicans, but I think McCain has a good chance. For the democrats, I'm undecided. -
Ok, fair enough, but my point is still valid. If teachers are making as much money as you say, why isn't everyone becoming a teacher? Is there a lot of competition to get an education degree, or competition for jobs? I would think so, given how much they are supposedly making.

Did you not read the link I provided? There are tons of specific policies in there.
-
I imagine they will announce their "official" policy during the next election. There may or may not be a few changes, but that website at least gives some ideas of the direction they are headed in. Did the Conservatives have their platform all laid out before the election campaign? When did they announce the GST cut, child-care allowance, etc...?

So, Dion is the leader and Harper is the follower? Here is a bunch of info from when he ran for leader: Link
-
Ha! You mean the same accountability act that contains many of the provisions that Harper fought so hard against while he was with the NCC? Yeah, right-wingers love accountability, especially the NCC & Harper. Yeah, and we would have gotten an income tax increase either.

He is an oil man. So, the "oligarchy" (including Cheney & Bush) goes into Iraq for oil, yet the "oligarchy" (except for Bush & Cheney, who are the most powerful in this "oligarchy") are also pushing to replace oil with fuel from crops? Your conspiracy theories are not even consistent with eachother.
-
The oligarchy that runs what we know as "western civilization" as always been in favour of eugenics. You don't have to look very hard to learn this. You didn't answer my question. Obviously Bush would be part of this "oligarchy", so why doesn't he want to do anything about global warming?
-
Then why is George Bush so opposed to doing anything about global warming? (if he even believes in it) I would have thought that, according to your conspiracy theory, he would have been one of the people behind this "depopulation agenda".

Liberals would cut Income & Business Taxes
gc1765 replied to gc1765's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
naaaah, most people are bad enough at math to begin with...let's not take away the one opportunity where people actually calculate something without a calculator. If the GST is cut to 5%, IQs will fall proportionately -

Sure...and it's also assuming that the Conservatives will actually keep their promise to cut the GST to 5%, so I'll believe it when I see it. -
My guess is it sounds good....kind of like "support the troops"
-
Yeah, it's not a huge priority for the conservatives all of a sudden...I mean it's not like they put it front and center on their webpage or anything: Link I see no difference between the Liberals and Conservatives on this issue, both talk big when it's an issue, but ignore it when it's not. Put aside your partisanship and you'll see that the Conservatives have jumped on the environment bandwagon just as much as the Conservatives.

"I know what they're trying to do, they're obviously trying to buy the election" -Stephen Harper, 2004 (after Paul Martin announced $1 billion for farmers, the same as what Harper has just done)
-
I'm sure the PM would make contacts fast. I'm sure business leaders are just as eager to make contacts with the PM.

This is probably the best policy that the CPC has come up with. I fully support this policy. -
How so?
-
I agree. That's because they are the ones in power. If Dion was in power now, I'm sure he'd do something about the environment. If the situation was reversed, and the CPC were in power a few years ago when the environment wasn't even on the radar politically, I imagine they would have done even less than Dion.

Good point about the law & order, it's one issue that many social liberals can be more to the right on. Personally, I'm not too sure about the issue. On one hand, I don't have too much sympathy for criminals. On the other hand, I know that longer sentences are not a deterrent and will only cost more money. I would like to see criminals work in jail and/or pay money if they have it, as was the subject of a couple threads here.

I have a question....if teachers are really making $60-$100 per hour, why don't you become a teacher? Do you make this much money?

Who should have the Liberals made leader?
gc1765 replied to Topaz's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The more I watch politicans, the more I think they should have made ME leader.
