  1. I thought her plan made sense, as far as clean air as a whole is concerned. Getting Baird on with this environment was smart on the CPC side. It would appear Baird has different marching orders than Ambrose, perhaps it was some sort of ruse. Baird is more how shall we say convincing than most CPC MPs.
  2. How does a retailer differ than the gov't in ripping off the consumer, the consumer is still getting ripped off is he not?
  3. Gerard Kennedy has a seat? Gerard Kennedy is basically a shoe in, Fortier has a cabinet position and he doesn't have a seat...
  4. link There you go, if this story is an economic indicator, I'm doing the happy dance. he wants 10% for biodiesel? i don't know if Canada can grow enough canola for 10% plus keep our vegetable oil supply Are margarine prices about to skyrocket? quite possibly, so is fertilizer, spray, and canola seed. That also depends on the type of canola grown, nexera canola is the healthiest veg. oil there is, if that got processed into diesel fuel the health nuts would freak. There is in my opinion going to have to be gov't interference to make this future boom sustainable for everyone. They can't crush the canola fast enough, there are two ginormous plants going up in Yorkton and they're going to have to pay well to staff the things. Monsanto is poised to be the next exxon-mobil with this, and that is scary. If you check out the link 50% of the crop would be used up under the conservatives plan. If I was a billionaire I'd be buying land in Africa/Eastern Europe for this. It's funny how gov't policy can create an industry like this.
  5. I'm a redneck, care to enlighten me what esoteric means?
  6. If the Liberals won the election and they decided to use this as their cabinet, if I were Gerard Kennedy I'd be severely pissed.

  8. Such as a 30 cent/litre on biofuel plants to compete with the american ones? I'd like 10% biodiesel, but there isn't enough canola in the country to prop that up so I guess I'll live with 5%.
  9. I wonder how many illegals and drugs will enter Canada during this time. We've essientially just left the country open for whoever wants to enter for a week until our ships can be fueled up. For a party that's tough on crime, this is a major gap in their policy. It's very ugly for Harper. It's actually frankly embarassing for Canadians. Hopefully the Americans come down hard on this. The threat to our's and their national security is huge. We're talking about 1 ship patrolling thousands of miles of coastline though. Illegal drugs and immigrants come in anyways too, I guess its the symbolism that counts...
  10. ctv wasn't a judge not supposed to rule on a case before the trial starts?
  11. I think the new, more mature, Alberta sees how unsuccessful that tactic was for us in 1993. Do tell us which years were better for Alberta. 1984 to 1993? Or 1993 to 2006? I have faith that Albertans will reward Harper for the positive steps he has been able to take in the last year. Unfortunately, there is a serious undertone of impracticality to those people who voted Conservative in the last election who are already planning on abandon him for keeping his word and not breaking out the *secret agenda* that never really existed. Harper in the PMO may not be perfect for Albertans, but he is better than any of out other options... 93-06 seems better as with the current boom your in. That tactic in 93 is where this CPC comes from. If they mess up, I can see the west pulling the plug on this crew and its back to Liberal gov't until the right smartens up.
  12. But you can't give a drug addict too much at one time or else he'll O.D. This will buy time and maybe the dependancy will win an election with a majority. Then you could cut it, cold turkey style. So the money is more like nicorette gum then
  13. Sure. Mulroney asked that same question, he thought it wouldn't matter. Next election his party had two seats, none west of Quebec. Harper must be aware. These are high times for Alberta and no one is going to take a dime more of our money without dire consequences. It won't always be this way for us, we need the money now. Exactly, these were "have not" provinces before, the oil is like a lottery ticket. These provinces would like to invest their money into improving their economies and infrastructures so that they will be "have" provinces when the oil industry goes bust and not have to rely on Central Canada again.
  14. Now that's hogwash, just try to find proof of that fat is directly realted to eating a small % have hormonal imbalances. And actually no it is not. You telling me right now that 95% of the time you are paying more taxes than women is pretty freaking sexist and nothing but pure speculation. An abortion costs 300 dollars, I think the majority of women pay way more taxes than 300 per year, saying nothing of provincial health care levies. Your tax angle it absolute nonsense. She does and 5 out of every 100 women's birth control fails. And teens who have raging hormones don't have the money so they do it anyway. Just as they always have done. It's not when people use birth control they took every precaution, it as a failure, and as I said society is not paying, and there is nothing to do with selfishness, they are mistakes, when will you people start to think rationally? And no by my logic, I am not saying that. I think nothing about it. if women can afford more than 300 dollars in tax payments, they can afford the 300 dollars for the abortion. The property tax on 2000 acres of land plus a yard, the GST and PST on farm inputs and the income tax from my gross income is safe to say I pay more taxes pound for pound than 95% of women. If missy knows there is a slight chance that she can get pregnant from birth control and doesn't want the responsibility she can keep her legs shut hormones or not, that is thinking rationally.
  15. Your a Virgin? Worse, I'm divorced. I'm not going through that shit show again.
  16. lots of fat people are genetically predetermined to being fat, a pregnancy isn't genetically pre-determined. Heart disease can happen to anybody even seasoned atheletes. I will tell you right now that 95% of the time no woman will be paying as much tax as me, I can assure you of that. The tax angle does work as pregnancy abortion is probably the most preventable health procedure there is. If they don't want an STD or to cough out child support, they should use protection or keep their zippers shut. What about the girl, she has a right to say no doesn't she? The girl is the one who gets pregnant, she makes the final call. She has the final choice in the matter. So what, that's still their fault they got pregnant, if they don't want a pregnancy they don't have to have sex. Why should society pay for their selfishness and stupidity? If you use birth control, you should realize it's not 100% effective and be ready to accept the consequences, if your not ready for that, you shouldn't be having sex. I can voice an opinion, that's all I can do. The rest is up to you. By using your logic, a pregnant woman has no say over the rights of the child inside of her, the childs future actions and choices, especially when she could have prevented it in the first place. What do you think of Robert Latimer mercy killing his child then?
  17. Testicular cancer and prostate cancer, are problems in "man land" that can kill them. Passing kidney stones is a real bitch too. When my tax dollars are on the line because missy got pregnant and she could have prevented it, it is my business. If they don't want to get pregnant I'll say it again abstinence or birth control. That's so selfish bringing an unwanted life into the world or robbing the baby of the chance to live (abortion) because Missy wants a piece of ass. You don't want the responsibility you know what to do. Trust me I keep my pants zipper shut because I don't want an STD or to hand out child support payments. Maybe women should do the same if they don't want an STD or pregnancy. Once again I can say whatever the hell I want, so can you.
  18. I advocate that you keep your mouth shut and you respect other people's rights. Apply your view on abortion in your own life but keep it out of others' lives. And missy is most cases is too young to know what the risks are and what she is doing anyway. Parenting is not a business for 15-year-olds. I have a right to an opinion and to express it, we live in a free society and no one can take that right away. I'm not forcing anybody to do anything, all I'm doing is chirping. If missy is too young to know, maybe she shouldn't be having sex in the first place. My thoughts on abortion are mentioned in previous posts. Yah, I'm 15 yrs old and run a farm, hmmm.
  19. I disagree. Wait for the March 20 budget with all the goodies. There will be so much cash handed out that many voters will vote conservative in expectation of their beer and popcorn cheques. So the Canadian people are too stupid to spend their own money?, we're supposed to be serfs? Cuba's pretty warm this time of year...
  20. A few gapper seats went Liberal, and they've had NDP gov'ts there, I wouldn't be surprised if some gap seats went orange. Danny Williams has a sky high approval rating in Nfld. pissing him off might not be a good idea for the tories. This is going to be like the American election, every seat matters, even more so for the tories. a couple seats here and there adds up. The gappers and Newfies just got their oil online, to lose a large chunk due to equalization hurts them, those provinces need some work done on them.
  21. In my line of work, breaking a leg can easily happen, part of the job. "Missy" has a choice not to get pregnant, she makes the call, she's the one who can get pregnant. I know most birth control is 95% effective which is why I advocate "missy" keeping her legs closed if she doesn't want to get in this mess. Oh you get so fiery sometimes. I only advocate abortion in instance of rape.
  22. CTV I guess we know where the 1.5 billion going to quebec is coming from
  23. How in the blue hell does he expect us to make money by imposing a "carbon tax" on Canadians and sending it to other countries in the world?
  24. Yes, but to elaborate in this case the people who don't pay membership get the same benefits as those that do pay, whats the point in paying?, I'd have a problem with it, if those people didn't have a problem with it then fine. If those who paid got priority access then that would be fair. If the town wanted to cover the costs of the doctor coming for all the town to enjoy then a 50 dollar increase in municipal tax would have been satisfactory.
  25. I like my co-ops and am a member at one in town concerning fuel and groceries. But being a member of a co-op should give its contributers perks, I get 110 bucks every year from groceries. These members don't get that much in return as non-members get doctor access as well off the backs of the members. In that case, the town would be better off imposing a 50 dollar tax on everyone to pay for doctor expenses.
