Islam in Canada to overtake Christianity in 2025

Not another thread about muslims and immigrants. We have how many different threads on this and they are the exact same thing every time. Nobody's mind is going to change on this. -
Outdated Handcuffs Used By Police

What solution do you propose to cases where one person's conduct costs another person their resources, health, comfort, or opportunities? Do what about it? Beat him up? Do you really think people should be allowed to defame eachother without consequence? First part: It's called I screwed up, chalk one up to experience and move on. Probly won't make that mistake again. Maybe get the guy back to get even. 2nd part: You could beat hm up, or you could defame him back. People should be allowed to defame other people, it's called freedom of speech. If you don't want to be defamed, I suggest that person not do anything to deserve it. This demonstrates a polarizing difference between liberals and conservatives. Small c conservatives can do things for themselves and can solve their own problems, small l liberals need government/judges to do things for them and solve their problems. -

And anyone can file suit in Canada. Blame a system? What was wrong with suing McDonalds? She was 100% right to do so. Lawsuits; the definition of the lack of class, honor, and courage in modern society. That ranks right up there with being a tattle tale in school. Teacher teacher... We are becoming a society of ninnies, it's getting to a point where we can't do anything and are slipping into anarchy. The McDonalds hot coffee; it's in a styrofoam cup for f*** sakes I'm sure when you held the cup that it was hot that might have been your first clue it was too hot to drink. Why in God's name should people pay for others stupidity and weaknesses? Then there's slander, that's even better, "judge judge he made fun of me on t.v. and i'm too stupid to do anything about it." That teacher should have grabbed the kid and chucked him outside and call the principal. But no we live in a society of ninnies so he's allowed to put kids and the teacher at risk so he can be allowed to vent. That type of stupidity that some lefties have concerning this is dangerous to the security of our country. Good grief when I used to be in school if kids were caught shooting spit balls, the teacher would whip a chalk brush at the kid's mouth then the class would laugh at him, needless to say he quit shooting spit balls. But now thanks to our ninny society the kid can shoot spitballs without fear of consequence. -
I'm 8.3. I don't think I could do this one as I live on a farm and the questions aren't geared towards the likes of me.

If that bus is on my land, I can forcably remove if you refuse to do so immediately. You also can't have a party on someone else's land, without their permission. Obviously the CN police are just as weak kneed when it comes to dealing with this hooliganism, if I were in charge I would have had the 5:00 freight take the bus off the tracks, end of story. It would all be completely legal to do so, just as you draw your ambigious conclusions. I wonder what the Indian response would be if I took a bus and accidentally 'got stuck' on the only transportation route to a remote reserve, and invited all my friends to celebrate the bus getting stuck for a few days (preventing the shipment of water, food, whatever else). I wonder how long they'd suffer before crying out, likely using the racism card. I'm actually tempted to see what would happen. Unfortunately I'm no longer in Ontario and the Indian groups in my province are far more reasonable and level headed than the Mohawks. Wouldn't want to interfere with that peaceful co-existance. I also have a job, so I can't really hang out for months like the Mohawks did (are doing) at Caledonia and at all these random protests and blockades. You see, the government doesn't pay my protesting friends for me. I'll tell you what happened when they pulled this type of shenanigans at our man-made lake. Protests for a couple of days. CBC did a little story. The thing is there are a lot of people with not much to do in the winter time after feeding the cows. Long story short, one protest got to the point where the natives were literally chased off the lake leaving their nets behind. 4 RCMP members aren't going to do much against a mile plus long column of pickup trucks with pissed off red necks. As far as I recall, the RCMP told the natives to get the hell off the lake because there wasn't enough cops to protect them and backup was at least a half hour away.

That's part of being a leader is putting men's lives on the line. General Currie put 3000+ on the line when the Canadians took Vimy ridge. World Leaders have to be cynical politicians, one doesn't get to be a person of power by not catering to the masses. Harper's agenda is to be PM of Canada and have a majority government. His entire administration so far has been catering to the masses. It would be political suicide to stay in Afghanistan past 09, there is nothing to be gained politically by staying there. A commitment was made to 09, they honor the commitment and get out. I'd rather have a few world leaders suggest that we go to A-stan long term than have an entire country of pissed off civilians, who have the power to vote you out of office. Germany isn't pulling it's weight in A-Stan, what do we do, we are renting tanks from them. Harper will pull out of A-Stan in 09 and take his majority government that will come with it. Is it dirty politics, yes. Will it work, probably.

Why would Harper who is on the verge of getting a majority want to piss it away on extending an unpopular mission? He's not that stupid, this mission is a vote divider, the sooner he gets this out of the way, the better, look at gay marriage, it's a non issue now because he put it to rest. Honestly what does he have to gain by extending the mission? There's no positive by extending the mission other than "fighting terror and bringing democracy to an impovershed region" The UN and NATO will be there for another 15 yrs. probly. Harper will say we went till 09, did a good job and now our turn is over. Looks good internationally and at home. To me a majority government is more important than doing an idealogical mission.

The immobiilzers have put off the casual stealer of cars. It has not stopped the repeat offenders. The Cadillacs used to hit pedestrians had immobilzers. The Liberals in Manitoba have been calling for harsher penalties for car thieves for some time. It took the attacks on pedestrians to get the NDP to think about more than securing cars. They had to do something about the youth responsible. Why won't they put GPS beacons in cars then. They have On Star which tells you exactly where you are, why not pop it in cars then and if the car is stolen, give the coordinates to the cops. Why not go further and go after the judge for being too lenient on that. Also theres the YJCA that causes problems with sentancing as well.

MPI didn't fix the whole problem. Car thefts continue even with cars that have the club and immobilizer on. Happened to a neighbor down the street and was reported by the media here as part of a story on whether immobilizers were doing the trick. What has helped is putting repeat offenders in jail. The club is useless, a cordless rotary saw will take care of that. I thought those were supposed to work pretty good. It's hard to start a vehicle with one on. Putting repeat offenders in jail, how right wing of you.

As a caveat, I would like to point out that people living in pioneer times were lucky to live into their 40's. Just because that lifestyle makes you strong and thin, doesn't mean that it's healthy for you. Don't get me wrong, I agree that more exercise is a good thing. I just want to point out that we should avoid the temptation to look at pioneer times as some sort of golden age in health. The reason our life expectancy is so high these days is partly due to the fact that we don't have to work ourselves to extremes anymore just for proper nutrition. And dying in your 40's in good physical shape is a bad thing???
-
Really getting a bang for your buck in Manitoba. And everyone thinks car stealing is a major issue? MPI fixed that with the immobilizer you can install in your car. They help cover the cost and your insurance rates go down. It's almost a non-issue if you ask me, if you live in the city and are too dense to put one in when car thievery is a big problem, your asking for it.

This is bloody ridiculous, our society has turned into a bunch of ninnies. Ooh, he put pork on my table, teacher teacher. What a load of monkey crap. What's worse is that we encourage it. Making a big stink like that about getting pork tossed at you and crying about it is bloody well asking for it. I don't care if your white black brown pink green or orange. I don't care if your christian, muslim, jew, or worship an airplane. The bottom line is if you act like a ninny like that you are asking for it. Those muslim kids should have dropped those ass clowns on the spot. Had there been a good old fashioned scrap, the issue would have been settled and this debate wouldn't be taking place.

Once Conawapa is built, we probably won't be. Touche

If we rock so much, then we shouldn't be receiving equalization payments. Those programs cost a bloody fortune.

They don't need higher crime rates, they just need to build enough prisions to hold all the pedophiles and violent offenders that walk on their first... second... and third offenses. Imagine outsourcing crappy jobs to prisoners, the sweatshops in china would take a huge hit!! 16 hrs. a day chained to a sewing machine, that's a way to pay debt to society. I can even see the prisons making some money at this.

Quebec support for the Tories remains up. They are also up in Ontario although that support keeps going back and forth. Last poll had the Liberals ahead. Would you call an election with the polls jumping around like that? Up down up down... This is starting to be a waste of money, good grief there are polls coming out every day or two now. people must be getting agitated being contacted what seems like on a regular basis concerning politics. Maybe they should wait a little bit and find out.

Tories Release Dire Forecast on Kyoto
blueblood replied to jdobbin's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I find it hillarious that left wingers are accusing the tories of scare tactics when they themselves use scare tactics in promoting kyoto, bloody hypocrites. On MDL, Baird spouted off names that gave him the evidence, the opposition guys were pulling stuff out of their ass, GOLD!!! -
Geoff is right on this. If any of you remember that show on the history channel where a couple gets to live like pioneers for a year is a testament to this. The guy works his ass off and eats food straight out of the garden/cow. The guy and woman both lost a pile of weight and got much stronger. Even out in the country there are a bunch of porkers running around, mostly town kids though. That having been said we have been spoiled by technology, farm kids aren't as tough as they were 50-60 yrs. ago, but they aren't obese (yet). I myself am in not as near good as shape as my dad's generation (those bastards are tough). For town/city boys, hard to say; get those gym classes back in order 1hr. a day every day for the school kids. I don't know what a person would do at an office job. People in general just need more physical activity.

I'd say it's way easier socialising in the country than in the city, but that depends on whether your "in" or not and my idea of socializing is lunch at the coffee shop. Mind you I view an area with a pop. over 5,000 as big/urban. Your not stressed out by having people around all the time, you choose when you want contact with people, but that's my opinion. But I will say this, if you are in your late teens and in your twenties and single, the rural life can be "unforgiving". The night life in the country from what the kids say sucks, unless your idea of fun is driving around drinking with your buddies on the back roads late at night and throwing beer bottles at signs. As far as jobs for educated young people are concerned forget it as well.

People like their cities the same way they like their hockey teams. I'm not a fan of any city, just a big mess as far as I'm concerned.

The government could certainly sell it to farmers for a buck. I don't know why farmers would bother taking the risk for a wheat pool when almost all the wheat pools have disappeared into corporate entities. My feeling is that the Wheat Board would be shut down as soon as dual marketing became a fact. AU has farmers on its board of directors if that's any conciltation to you. At the beginning when the Pools were set up they were to compete and give returns. Over time they evolve. It would make sense for a wheat pool of this magnitude. They'd risk because if a corporation gave them a generous buyout, they'd take it, i could see a pool like this around for a while.

That might be. But Conservative majorities, according to pollsters, need to be solidly over 40%. At the moment, Harper would probably win a minority. You say that Harper has a master plan and that the longer he stays in, the higher his support is. It is fairly consistent with the election results right now. He might be hoping that Dion will sink in the polls but the only party showing major decline is the BQ. Patience, patience, it's only been a short time. A decline in the BQ is good, it opens it up to a two horse race and all depends on the campaign.

The WTO would be able to levy penalties on Canadian grain or other products if the CWB loses its monopoly. I don't know how many times I can say the same thing: State trading enterprises are illegal once they lose their monopoly. There can't be dual marketing. The minute the farmers get dual marketing, the Canadian Wheat Board cannot operate as a marketing board. Only provincial marketing boards are protected under the WTO. Federal ones aren't. It isn't like the Wheat Board can be sold. It has no assets. I'm not suggesting it stay a state marketing board, I'm suggesting it morph into a farmer run cartel. It already has structure and support so the leg work is done, the gov't can pull out and it won't be a state trading enterprise, it will be just a trading enterprise. What is wrong with that?
-
If that was the case, his polling numbers would be higher. The liberals are also a mainstream big time party. They're (liberals) going to attract lots themselves. He did poll 40% at one time. From what I'm seeing the next election will go to the one who pulls off the best campaign.
-
I repeat. Unlike MTS, it has no assets. It has no terminals, it has no ships, it has no elevators. Federal marketing boards are illegal under WTO. Once the monopoly is gone, it is gone. The Wheat Board is gone. So things have to be government owned to be in the export business? The CWB has grain and support at it's disposal. If the farmers who want to get in the export biz are smart they'll use the board as sort of a cartel. the nice thing about the biofuel thing is that we won't be held hostage by shipping and the rail companies anymore as we can put it on a super B to ethanol plants popping up all over the prairies. This would mean the future CWB has leverage on the shipping companies, terminals, and rail companies. Plus having the CWB as a cartel means Canadian wheat farmers can have some fun with worldwide grain prices.
