Two Tory senators charged by elections Canada
blueblood replied to DrGreenthumb's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
If this is true Then some heads should roll at the civil service. I wonder why there are crickets with this post? Ill reserve my opinion until the supreme court makes its ruling -
I'm with guyser on this one. Mps get heckled all the time. She used a tactic to make him flip out and look like a jack ass. Mission accomplished! She knew what she was getting into getting into it with pat martin, she's a big girl.

Ignatieff doesn't need parliament it is below him
blueblood replied to punked's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
You started out with the ivory tower "I went to university so that makes me better than you" soap box speech. Probably the same reason you belittle people who didn't have to go to university who enjoy more financial success than many that go! You have a problem with those who are smart enough to do well financially yet didn't feel the need to go to university. As for me being an idiot. All I know is that I'm smart enough to have a larger bank account than you, and at the end of the day that's the only measuring stick that counts. -
From my understanding. The actual rehabilitation approach only works if said offender/addict/etc. truly wants to be rehabilitated. You can throw all the offenders into all the programs you want, but if they don't realize they have a problem and/or don't want rehab programs, then they are back out in society re offending and that doesn't do anyone any good either. I think the prison expenditure deals more with current overcrowding and the need to keep up with current population growth of the country more than anything.

Badaboom - BCE buys ctvglobe
blueblood replied to William Ashley's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
That's the crtc's fault not business. I don't know what the big deal is since bce sold off ctv in the first place and is now buying it back. This deal has more to do with getting into mobile platforms with ctv than anything else. -
Outstanding, since a car value is less than earnings and the house is paid off your in a lot better shape than most people.

Union Busting in Wisconsin
blueblood replied to Jonsa's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Oustanding, you have renounced violence! Now we have a problem, you still support union members forcing workers to join union ( a la GM) which in turn means forcible work to rule, striking and other nonsense when said worker just wants to work and can deal with management on his own. Yet you dispize people who in the days of jim crow made black people not allowed in some restauramts, their own water fountains and other nonsense. So discrimination and oppression are okay only when unions do it? And I'm the liar... -

blueblood replied to punked's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
So this is the ivory tower toronto elite type our worldly friend august1991 refers to time and again. I find it rich that ignatieff bitches about parliament prorogation and not showing up for work, when he himself doesn't show up for work more than half the time. Sounds like another issue ignatieff lost credibility to layton on! -
"If you can't afford it, put it down". Great advice for those fools thinking they can afford a 300k house with a 30k income. http://www.google.com/search?client=ms-rim&hl=en&q=suze%20orman%20-%20if%20you%20cant%20afford%20it%20put%20it%20down&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&channel=browser http://www.oprah.com/own-ask-oprahs-all-stars/Financial-Advice-from-Suze-Orman-Ask-Oprahs-All-Stars-102/2

Some of us in the ag industry and rural small businesses are having a laugh at the whole credit card situation. We will not make credit card purchases unless we have cash in the bank to pay for it. Unfortunately some people rack up obscene credit card debt. Thanks to their high debt obligations, they have allowed responsible card holders to have free carribbean vacations every year and what amounts to free bookkeeping. RBC avion, the only way to roll!! Your right stupid is as stupid does!

Did low income people have a gun to their head forcing them to buy an expensive home rather than a cheap home or an apartment?

Bwahahahahahaha!!! I love it, he still advocates violence toward replacement workers but at the same time bringing up workplace abuses by management!! So was it all right for black people to be beaten with bats for eating at a white only restaurant during jim crow? You seem to believe so since you and your ilk advocate baseball bat beatings for replacement workers. This reminds me of 1984, everyone is equal, some are more equal than others!! Judging that you are reduced to spitting venom and using ignore, score 1 for uncle kevin's crusade!!! -
Buying a house worth more than 5x earnings is a recipe for disaster. With a housing policy that won't discriminate on income like we have in canada, that started the ball rolling. Not only that the banks had to get creative with interest rate agreements because of the risk of lending to people with such low incomes. Which resulted in getting creative with everything else in order to provide returns to bond and shareholders. Once the cashflow dried up from the inability of homeowners to pay, the house of cards came down. Those people didn't have to buy those houses.

Do you know what happened as a result of workers having their civil rights infinged? Regulations and laws. As is the case in the south with african americans. How about the civil rights for those crossing the picket line? Workers who don't tow the union line are subject to the same kind of oppression by unions that you put in your post. Jack weber's post is proof positive of that. You keep dodging that question. Answer it right now. Should "scabs" enjoy civil rights or not? Apparently your fine with attitude adjustments by baseball bat. Civil rights are a two way street. If you can't realize that, your a lost cause. According to you unionists have the right to infringe upon the rights of "scab" workers while at the same time you cry foul (and rightfully so) when management in the 19th century abused their workers. You sir are a hypocrite. I don't need to dig to china, you already beat me there! -
Nope, it was just a result of economic reality that caused the recession. US workers being too expensive, a foolish housing policy stating that everyone should own a house. What do you expect when people with 30 to 40K per year buying homes over 300K. Its not possible. It was a bubble waiting to pop.

Be careful, you could be receiving an "attitude adjustment" resulting in a louisville slugger emblem upside the head! -
Except uncle kevin's financial accumen has resulted in him haing a much larger bank account than either of us! Not only that, his main income stream these days comes from helping other people get richer. Oh the immorrallity!!

Which in turn results in good time charlie for business owners with ties to those emerging markets. Nothing wrong with getting returns of 60 percent! _USA businesses are propping up the stock market because of their exposure to those emerging markets. I think there is a financial illiteracy problem in canada and the usa.
