Dion vs. Harper - Canada's Future?
normanchateau replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
You don't think that wanting permanent criminal records and potential jail time for simple possession of a few grams of marijuana is a social conservative position? 69% of Canadians favoured decriminalization of marijuana in 2003. Even among Canadian Alliance supporters in 2003, only 38% opposed decriminalization. Harper's position puts him among the most socially conservative of even Alliance supporters. As in where people who express opinions questioning any aspect of Islam are butchered and the government does nothing about it? Yeah, and I here a lot of Dutch people are leaving, they are too afraid to live there anymore. If your point is that the Conservatives have a different attitude than the Liberals to immigration, read the following: "Today, Monday January 23, 2006, Canadians are voting in a federal election. According to some polls the Conservatives led by Stephen Harper are poised to win their first election since 1993. A Conservative victory, however, probably won't bring any reductions in immigration levels. Determined to win at least some of the immigrant vote from the Liberals, the Conservatives have embraced multiculturalism and are working overtime to present themselves as immigrant-friendly. They have also dropped any opposition to bilingualism. The Conservative attitude towards multiculturalism was summed up in a letter to the Toronto Star written by Member of Parliament Deepak Obhrai: "In my opinion, multiculturalism is about ensuring minorities are not marginalized by the majority. Assimilation is a concept where the majority want to maintain their dominant position. It's two very different approaches. Canada's early history has been less than honorable with respect to its treatment of minorities, as highlighted by recent newspaper headlines of different ethnic groups raising past grievances and demands for redress. When immigration to Canada from traditional countries declined, it became evident that the policy of assimilation could no longer be sustainable. Hence, it was not long before the concept of multiculturalism became an alternative." " http://www.immigrationwatchcanada.org/inde..._position=92:90

If ever there was convincing evidence of Trudeau's evil, this was it. Imagine that...making us metric just like Holland. And how many countries in the world other than the US do you suppose don't use the Trudeau-imposed metric system? Here's the answer: http://lamar.colostate.edu/~hillger/internat.htm

All this talk about dykes is diverting us from the serious topic of the Liberal hidden agenda to turn us into Holland. Actually the tulip-like roots of this plan were first planted in 1954 in Holland by Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands who planned for world domination. Evidence: "The Bilderberg group - which took its name from a Dutch hotel - was founded in 1954 by Prince Bernhard from the Netherlands. German-born Bernhard was a card-carrying Nazi and member of the SS. Alden Hatch wrote a biography of Prince Bernhard where he insists that Bilderberg was the cradle of the European Community - later rebranded European Union. He describes Bilderberg's ultimate goal as a one-world government." Source: http://www.atimes.com/atimes/Front_Page/GE10Aa02.html Outrageous conspiracy theory or merely further supporting evidence that Canada will morph into Holland thanks to the tulip-sniffing Liberals and their gouda cheese-eating co-conspirators? Soon Dion will have all Canadians wearing wooden shoes and living in windmills.

Zaccardelli and Conservative Support

Fair enough but I think it's premature to assume that the best inside candidate would be inferior to someone brought in from the outside. -

Now that is just purely irresponsible provocation. Irresponsible provocation on this discussion board? Oh no, that's terrible...especially with Christmas approaching. -

They should play Muslim songs and Wiccan songs as well. All taxpayers subsidize the CBC, not just those of one particular religious group. Yeah, I bet there's tons of great Muslim Christmas carols they could play. -k When they eat their Muslim Christmas dinner... http://www.express.co.uk/news_detail.html?sku=732 -
Zaccardelli and Conservative Support

I mentioned her earlier. She does have a good reputation on organized crime. But it may be not enough to overcome the feeling that the force has to outside to fix its problems. It's a shame that someone of her accomplishments and credentials unfairly has to pay the price for Zaccardelli. I see no reason other than political expediency why Zaccardelli couldn't be replaced by someone from within the RCMP providing that person undergoes exactly the same scrutiny as someone brought in from outside the RCMP. -
Liberal Party Leadership Financing: A mess
normanchateau replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Dion WAS the establishment. Rae was the anti-establishment. Then why did more Liberal MPs support Ignatieff, Rae and Kennedy than supported Dion? Ignatieff, Rae and Kennedy each were endorsed by more Liberal MPs than Dion prior to the first ballot. Or are all Liberal MPs also anti-establishment in your opinion? -

Who's an outright liar? Rae has by far the largest debt of any of the eight candidates. -
Zaccardelli and Conservative Support

Yes, Zaccardelli should have been fired long ago and one former officer did indeed refer to the top three candidates as "Zac-clones." Story: http://www.cbc.ca/canada/story/2006/12/06/...ef.html?ref=rss But does that comment from a disaffected former officer disqualify all three? All three are deputy commissioners who would naturally have interacted with Zaccardelli in their line of duty. What exactly is wrong, for example, with Beverley Busson? Her CV looks good to me. -

It's a matter of timing and location. You would have felt differently in Spain 500 years ago, in Germany 70 years ago or in Iran today. -
Liberal Party Leadership Financing: A mess
normanchateau replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
How on earth do you know how much Dion or anyone else spent? Your figures show only that Dion had the second highest debt of all the candidates. No candidate has yet declared expenses. -
...... and everyone can put a finger in a dyke. I'd ask first though. In the US, I believe they call them levees rather than dykes. Avoids confusion.

Kidding? Do Dutchmen live in windmills, eat gouda cheese and wear wooden shoes? Now that the hidden Dutch agenda of the tulip-admiring Liberals has been exposed on Mapleleafweb, it's just a matter of time and one election before all of Canada is "going Dutch." And exactly what evidence do we have that Dion does not hold Dutch citizenship? Sure he acknowledged his French citizenship but he never said a word about having or not having Dutch citizenship. I think Gerard Kennedy might be involved as well in the hidden Holland agenda. Source: http://stephanedion.ca/?q=en/News-061025Kennedy The link clearly reveals not only the conspiratorial alliance between Kennedy and Dion but also the name of the Ontario chair of Kennedy's leadership campaign who in October successfully masterminded the made-in-Holland plan to take over the Liberal leadership and snatch victory from the jaws of Ignatieff and Rae. Surely it's not a coincidence that Ignatieff and Rae are no friends of Holland.

Maybe Canada needs to adopt the strategy of most NATO countries...station our troops in northern Afghanistan instead of southern Afghanistan. That way we can still claim to prop up the corrupt Islamic theocracy of Afghanistan, thereby fulfilling the wishes of Harper and NATO, while minimizing risks to Canadian forces.

It was the evil tulip-sniffing and gouda cheese-eating Chretien who initiated the Liberal secret agenda. Thanks to Chretien who quietly committed an unsuspecting Canada to Afghanistan, we're already like war-mongering Holland, e.g., "In addition to the United States and Britain, other countries with troops in southern Afghanistan include Canada and the Netherlands, with smaller contingents from Romania, Denmark and others." http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=6069703

Same-sex motion defeated by wide margin
normanchateau replied to Leafless's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
As socialist statement as has ever been seen!!! It does not compare the political ideologies of the current Liberals who run the country in a dictatorial manner incorporating a weakened form of Marxism. Mr. Harper would be surprised to learn that it is "the current Liberals who run the country." Harpeau probably still thinks that he runs the country as opposed to some other Marxist. -
Anti-Semitic Smear Campaign Against Rae Exposed!
normanchateau replied to betsy's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Assuming "runners" means leadership candidates and not athletic shoes, how could 6 of 8 be supporting Rae? That means the 4 last place finishers as well as 2 of the 4 front runners were supporting Rae. I'm sure Rae supported Rae but what other front runner do you think supported him? -

Chrétien to PM: 'Can I call you Steve, like George W.?'
normanchateau replied to comup's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Your right, if she had not attacked Martin, she would still likely be a Liberal. That would be difficult to prove in a court of law even if the judge were a Conservative. Clips of the skit involving her stomping on the Bush doll were first shown in the evening on television on November 17, 2004. Her disloyal comments about Martin for condemning her performance in those skits was made on the morning of November 18, 2004. She was expelled on November 18, 2004. -
Anti-Semitic Smear Campaign Against Rae Exposed!
normanchateau replied to betsy's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Sounds like there was an anti-Semitic smear campaign but I have yet to see the evidence that Liberals were involved. An electronic flyer from the Canadian Arab Federation or whoever has yet to be linked to its source. And what delegate approached Rae's wife and how do we know that the person was actually a delegate?
