Massive Disappointment from Me

Does Harper think that, should something happen to him, his wife or son will replace him? Dream on, Stephen! -
Massive Disappointment from Me
Biblio Bibuli replied to geoffrey's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Ah come on Geoff, no one in their right mind would ever prevent the other party's superstars from joining their team. Now if Mr. Harper gave a high profile job to some Liberal airhead, as the Liberals did with Belinda, I'd be pissed off too. But he didn't! He gave it to David Emerson, the man who led a very powerful B.C. cabinet contingent for the Liberals. And the ONLY way that Stephen Harper could keep it powerful was by snapping up this Liberal superstar. WAY TO GO STEPHEN!! -
Rightwing News
Biblio Bibuli replied to Montgomery Burns's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Ever since many of Asper's newspapers got into the habit of misspelling the word "shoo-in" in his dailies, I complained about it wherever I could. But it wasn't until I complained about it here that PocketRocket took it upon himself, ( "just to make me happy" he said) , and made sure my complaint got to Asper's main editor's ears. Now all my daughters are back on track in spelling it the right way, and I hope this latest Vancouver Sun article gets you there too. http://www.canada.com/vancouversun/news/st...bb-ea54c39f3e72 You're welcome! -

All of me thinks that Putin would change places with Bush in a Moscow minute. -
Bush and Putin
Biblio Bibuli replied to Biblio Bibuli's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
At exactly the same time that Bush is telling other countries that they can NOT have even an eency-weency WMD, Putin boasts about Russia's super-duper nuclear powers ... yet no one except a tabloid newspaper, The Province, has the balls to point this out. I know why Geoffrey won't wager a bet as to whether Putin's actions were meant to be pro or anti American (you see, he put all his spare cash betting on a CPC majority). But didn't most of you make wads of money on that election by betting the favorite? I'm betting that Bush and Putin had it all planned, just to piss off the Iranians et al. -
And many free countries with free presses republished it. Too bad Canada isn't one of them. Are we chickenshits?

In the article below, the editors smartly join and talk about both, George Bush's annual State of the Union address and Vladimir Putin's annual news conference. The side by side pictures of both men gives an impression, a correct impression I might add, that they are the best of friends. This is the greatest article I've seen in my dailies in a long long time and upon reading it I immediately began humming to myself ......... "Bush and Putin, Bush and Putin, go together like a horse and carriage ...". If these two men cannot assure that the world is a peaceful place, then who can? Nobody .... that's who! http://www.canada.com/theprovince/news/sto...87-1882f8c03551 Here's an excerpt: "Bush aims at Iran's nukes Russia's Putin tells of a growing nation Published: Wednesday, February 01, 2006 WASHINGTON -- U.S. President George W. Bush last night issued a sharp warning to Iran, demanding it abandon its nuclear-weapons ambitions or face a showdown with the international community. In his annual state of the union address, Bush said America will not tolerate the Iranian government's pursuit of the bomb. In Moscow, President Vladimir Putin had sharp words for his critics and stark reminders of Russia's nuclear might at an annual news conference. Dismissing accusations he has replaced Cold War nuclear strength with energy supplies as a lever of political influence, Putin quipped: "We still have enough missiles." He went on to boast that Russia has tested new nuclear-capable missiles that he said can easily penetrate any defence system."

Unless it's smothered in exotic Indian or Middle Eastern spices. But the reality is with enough fragrant spices you could eat a stinky shoe too.
-
Eating pork is a HUGE part of western culture, but I see in today's Van. Sun paper that the age-old staple of the French ... pork soup ... is being banned right across the land from their soup kitchens that feed the hungry. Yet, foul smelling stinky mutton is allowed. That makes me angry. VERY angry. I'd rather die than eat mutton! But you go right ahead, Slavik! Bon appetit!!!

You were a little too late with your prediction Murray B. Thus BigGunner's prediction of 125 seats for the CPC wins, no ifs ands or buts about that. Congratulations BG!!

No rebuttal from this end. It was classic Steyn ... bang on in every sentence. Thanks for the great read!

Prime Minister Harper Should Dismiss Frank McKenna
Biblio Bibuli replied to tml12's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I don't want to sound like a braggart but .... NOT ONLY did I shake his hand once, he also autographed a book for me once. Why the hell was he "duck and cover" there? Did he and Stephen kiss & make up? When? Is he going to help Harper now? Boy, the two of them sure would be a handful for Ignatieff. And I wouldn't be at all surprised if Ignatieff defected and joined their team. Harper, Ignatieff, Manning ..... what a dream team that would be. -
Prime Minister Harper Should Dismiss Frank McKenna
Biblio Bibuli replied to tml12's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The nightmarish thought of having to face Michael Ignatieff in the next election is reason enough for Harper to bring McKenna home, so he doesn't chicken out from competing for the Liberal Party leadership. DREAM ON HARPER!!! MICHAEL IGNATIEFF WILL WIN!!! I hope. -
I wondered who the oaf was that stood up and obscured the view while the CBC cameraman was desperately trying to catch a glimpse of Preston. Why is it not mentioned anywhere that he was there?

Prime Minister Harper Should Dismiss Frank McKenna
Biblio Bibuli replied to tml12's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
He was right smack in the middle of the crowd during Harper's acceptance speech. Did you notice? The CBC camera got a second to a second and a half glimpse of him before some oaf in front of him stood up and obscured the view. -
Well the fat lady has sung. For me it boils down to three things: 1/ Svend is not my MP. I don't have to move. 2/ Binder Boy is our next PM. Boring, but at least he'll treat our neighbors with some respect. I look forward to seeing him clearing brush at the ranch. 3/ Our NEXT PM won his riding. Hold onto your hats ... I think I'll be getting the first candidate I can stand behind wholeheartedly since Trudeau ... go Ignatieff go!

I'm banned there PERIOD! Not that I mind.

I was banned there awhile back. I wasn't banned TOTTALY, in that I could still brouse the forum. I didn't bother brousing it for months now, and now, when I run in there to check it out it gives me ... "You must be logged in to use this feature" message. IS THERE ANYBODY OUT THERE WHO'S GOT MORE NERVE THAN AUGUST1991? Thank you in advance!!!!

Hee haw! Thanks!

The polls have closed out there. The Westerners are dying to know ... WHAT IS HAPPENING? Did the Maritimes cave in & vote PC? Are the Newfounlanders rejecting the Liberal pogie & trying out the Conservatives? Have the Quebecoise gone bleu? And most of all ... what's happening with Ignatieff? INQUIRING MINDS WANT TO KNOW!

Consider it done! However, I wish you would reconsider. Mr. Mulroney is a brilliant man, and since he no longer has any reasons to bullshit us, I take his word for it. When he says a minimum of 7, 7 and up it is!
