Dancer, your so damn cool, in your own mind. My definition of the word 'primarily' matches the dictionary definition of 1.- the first importance. 1-b, fundamental, basic. Obviously you have some sort of a mental block or are in an acute state of denial that prevents you from understanding the reality that Canada's primary culture is White, English speaking Christians, who have developed a vibrant Canadian society. I mean who the hell do you think educated Quebecers, France.

Russell by-law spat sparks bilingual study
Leafless replied to Leafless's topic in Local Politics in Canada
That is sort of a plus for NB being an officially bilingual province. You cannot abuse Charter rights by abusing the Notwithstanding Clause to favour either official language. -
No one can kick anyone out of a 'province', but country, yes. The identity of citizens is determined by the name of the country and not personal ethnicity. Culture is a free flowing process and has been determined that Canada primarily is a White, Christian, English speaking nation. Government meddling has destroyed free flowing culture and transformed common free flowing culture into total confusion, uncontrolled, irresponsible, undemocratic, extremely costly, state control and undemocratic manipulation of culture in Canada.

Alberta: Francophone scores key win in court
Leafless replied to Leafless's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
If you posted the rest of what was said, you probably would understand. IOW-I am in favour of official multilingual provinces for a reason. If the provincial governments of this country are that lame and do not have the foresight to recognize that English is the dominant language of Canada, then let it recognize, officially, any other minority language that becomes popular in any particular province. Then post your own valid chart. -
Alberta: Francophone scores key win in court
Leafless replied to Leafless's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Why? English and French as official languages only fall under federal jurisdiction and do not fall under provincial jurisdiction. What is the purpose when official languages is the brainchild of the federal government and has nothing to do with the reality of the natural evolved de-facto language of Canada being the English language. In Canada language is a provincial responsibility and up to now no other province outside of Quebec has made official any language as the official language of commerce outside of Quebec, which as made its official language French. Since Canada is an official multicultural country I hope other provinces take advantage of this when the linguistic opportunity arises to make official what ever OTHER language suits their province. http://www.canada.com/cityguides/toronto/i...97-0cacbc7c85ef It is strange indeed that the Liberals are suddenly so concerned about the environment when the Quebec James Bay hydro electric project is considered ''the North American equivalent of the destruction of the tropical rain forest.'' This includes the production of the greenhouse gas methane from rotting vegetation, caused by all those thousands of flooded hectares of bush land from the creation James Bay hydro hydro electric generating facilities. I did not or do not hear the Liberals howling in protest over the James Bay hydro electric project as an enviromental nightmare. http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html...754C0A966958260

Nevertheless, the RCMP adopted the Stetson for official use in the RCMP and and did NOT adopt the ##**## turban. So much for your inane condescending comment.

No one wanted or asked for the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. It was a Trudeau invention who was an employee of Quebec. The original 'Bill of Rights' served ALL Canadians rather than a select few. You don't have a clear opinion. You condemn Quebec language laws but support the same type of racially discriminating by-laws in Russell, Ontario. That is a very uncivil, unpatriotic thing to say and again shows the contempt you have against English speaking Canadians. That is your line. You are the comedian. -
Everything Quebec does is related to ancient history including their obsolete language. Selling your soul to the Anglais is good in Quebec? When real estate prices increased in Gatineau, Que., they shot themselves in the foot again with the French selling their homes to the terrible Anglais, transforming Gatineau into an English speaking bedroom community of Ottawa. If you are talking about them, NO. Rephrase that to, 'you could show them more'. Cultural sellouts need it especially when they preach the opposite.

Champlain & poutine, quelle horreur!
Leafless replied to g_bambino's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Champlain holding a dish of poutine. How original this is representing the old and the new Quebec. Quebec as usual gets carried away with this respect thing all the time and I can't figure out why they take everything so seriously. Regardless poutine has been around since the late 50's. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poutine -
Go preach that in Quebec.

Maher Arar Whiffs Again in US Court
Leafless replied to bush_cheney2004's topic in Canada / United States Relations
How do you know this is true: http://members.shaw.ca/nspector4/globe6.htm The inquiry was not a court of law and to suggest RCMP information was inaccurate leaves a lot to be desired relating to the inner workings of national security between Canada and the U.S. To blow open national security efforts, by way of an public inquiry, should never have been permitted initially. -
The insult I am referring to is directed at the French about rekindling past history when the French were defeated on the 'Plains of Abraham by the British'. Bringing in a British superstar is 'shooting oneself in the foot', wouldn't you think? Rumour has it the Queen will be on drums, with her special rendition of 'God save the Queen'. I believe this is untrue and totally false. Of the the continuous variety. One after the other, for whatever reason.

That is what I stated: That means to save the tax payers of Canada from forking over $10 million ever again, relating to a similar Arar situation. If Arar would have been a citizen of Canada only, with a single Canadian passport, he would have been sent back to Canada. -
McCartney was born in Liverpool England and is an English rock singer. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_McCartney What irks me is Quebec bringing in high profile English speaking talent to sing on the 'Plains of Abraham' when their talent should be exclusively French. Why are they doing this? Could it be to add insult to injury? Or is it to hopefully to attract English speaking Canadians to come to Quebec City and then turn around claiming the 400th anniversary of Quebec City was a great success, drawing large crowds of English speaking Canadians. Since tickets are free, who is paying for Paul McCartney? Is it Quebec or the federal government? Hopefully it is not the federal government, as this is not a Canadian celebration.

The racially discriminatory Charter should be scrapped. But until that time comes, the Charter is supposed to be applicable to all citizens and all provinces. So what is Quebec's problem or yours with recognizing Charter rights? And what are you implying when you state "except when it suits you"? This also makes the federal government incompetent relating to enforcing Charter rights in Quebec. -

It is Quebec that considers French speakers in Quebec a majority and the English speakers and other nationalities in Quebec minorities. Last I heard it thinks it is a nation with its own French official language, that has never signed the Constitution and does not provide Charter Rights for what Quebec considers its linguistic minorities. What other PROVINCE in Canada is like Quebec? -

I am surprised Canada has not publicly expressed serious concern relating to the issue of dual citizenship. Depending on the issue, dual citizenship could be the source of serious consequences. The federal government has an obligation to the tax payer of Canada to prevent this type of situation from happening again. -
It appears rampaging cultural propagandist never learn and will only learn their lesson the hard way.
