I guess if you think unbridled cynicism is a way with words, then yes, I guess she can. Come now Ottawa...she's an attractive woman...

Harper to be investigated by ethics commissioner
tml12 replied to stignasty's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I heard nobody complained to the ethics commisioner over Belinda switching. Your claim that he has bias or is ineffective is sour grapes. suck it up. gerry...keep up your ineffectual and dumb posts...PLEASE!!! -
I know we have discussed this before, but I am putting this in the Federal forums because I think it is time to have a new, NATIONAL, and rational debate on health care in Canada. Canada's universal health care system is one of the myths of Canada. We do not have universal health care in this country. In Quebec, we have the most private clinics in Canada. PM Martin went to one. In the fall, Quebec Blue Cross sent a pamphlet to residents of Montreal in my area (and I assume other areas) advertising private health insurance BEFORE the Charest government legalized it. My doctor tells patients who want an MRI to either wait on the waiting list or get one off the record anonymously. By giving patients the ability to pay for better care, if Premier Klein isn't violating the Canada Health Act, he is violating the socialist spirit of it. Although I think Klein's timing is bad for the minority CPC government, I back him 100%. It's time to have a new, non-BS discussion on health care in Canada. It's time for a new Health Act now. Good for Alberta for paving the way...

Abolish Ontario. Just kidding, but seriously...will McGuinty ever shut up??? All he's been doing is bitching for the past two weeks and he's getting REALLY annoying. Sorry if I'm in a bad mood but I spent ten days in Florida and only got back a few days ago. Going from +30 to -15 makes me very tired and cold.

Why isn't Canada helping to promote civil war?
tml12 replied to gerryhatrick's topic in Canada / United States Relations
Gerry, Argus's statements are pure facts, not opinions. The Americans are keeping Iraq sane, this link (http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060303/NEWS07/603030355/1009) proves most of the violence is being committed kills Iraqis, and the U.S. is democratizing Iraq and killing mostly terrorists, not Iraqis. -
Here in Montreal, nothing gets plowed, some things get salted, few things get done, and blue collars go on strike. Quebec=pro-union, pro-socialism, anti-choice/progress. Tell me again why they call the left progressives?

English patient refused treatment

Oh I'm sorry I thought immigrants to this country had to speak English to immigrate here... -
Quebec gets much more from the federal government for child care than the other provinces so I doubt they'd agree. Did you know that in Quebec one gets a whopping $8000 cheque with the arrival of a third child? I wonder how much Harper kicks in for that? There's no Quebec favouratism in Ottawa...what are you talking about???

Harper should withsraw from Kyoto and we should find other solutions because: 1) Kyoto was destined to fail from the start without the U.S. and China. 2) The system of credits was ridiculous. 3) Chretien never had a plan from day one and Canada has actually done worse than the U.S. under Kyoto.

How do the people who only speak (Chinese/Hindi/Spanish/fill-in-the-blank) get by? Is the problem that there aren't enough French speaking doctors obtaining medical licences, or that too many people want to live in an area with a shortage of French doctors without bothering to learn English, and our official language policy rewards their obstinance by making the majority pay for services they aren't allowed to benefit from? BHS, They're not important because they don't speak French/English.

Unbelievable! Sure there is blatant cultural discrimination against the English in Quebec (language police), but in Ontario too? Agreed Monty...that is BS. You can be sure if that happened to a francophone in Quebec, going to an "anglo only" hospital in a majority French province we'd never hear the end of the lawsuits/OLF investigations. I hope she sues and wins.

MPs to question new Supreme Court pick
tml12 replied to stignasty's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
can anyone really be against this that isn't a member of the Liberal Party? I mean seriously, CAN ANYONE??? -
Waiting game with the Liberals? Oh, you mean do nothing until the UK or US step in?

Agreed newbie, Bush is doing something really stupid and it may hurt the Repubs at the mid-terms. Lots of right-leaning americans that I've met here on vacation think it's bullshit.

Moderateamericain, I may be biased (cause I let my last ex hang around way too long... ) but I think you may have been a bit impulsive. Was something else going on? Maybe she just was in a lazy mood last night and didn't want to see anyone. I would have sat her down and talked to her and asked her what was going on. "Why did she lie?" etc. If this was the first time I would have given her the benefit of the doubt. If it had happened more than once than I would have broken up with her. Overall, I hope everything works out with you. You seem like a pretty cool person on this forum and I hope you work things out... Best, TML

Hey Josh, Sorry I got a bit distracted (as you can see.) I think you're a very wise teenager for supporting the CPC...IMHO you're ahead of your age group for sure... How do you attract the youth vote? Well I kind of like what David Cameron is doing with the Tories in Britain. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/4642334.stm I think Canada's youth needs to feel a belonging to their society. Personally I support compulsory public service (like the UK's old National Service) but any kind of participation will do.

I second the motion. TML for PM ! Actually, I think it would be better to establish a compassionate dictatorship under TML. Cut out the middle men/women. All this attention I'm getting...I must admit I'm honoured... My dictatorship will be more benevolent than Chretien's, I PROMISE... Can I be the Chuck Guite to your Chretien?! PLeease. I swear, none of those envelopes will be a problem. I've devised a more effiecient way of carrying cash... hehe.. hollowed out teddy bears. Its genius. Ottawa, I'm a Conservative...so I'll not be giving you my money...regardless of how much money is in it. It's time we lowered taxes. uh-oh, for a minute there I forgot I was writing to you uOttawaman...that's the kind of letter I have been writing to the Liberal governments in Ottawa for years... Seriously, though, no more corruption under a tml12 government...I'd be happy to have you cross the floor though...
