The Argument is that Iranian President and Irans policy is that they will destroy Israel, and are simultainiously trying to aquire nuclear weapons. Its not Israel accusing Iran of wanting to destroy Israel, its Iran saying it.

The Royal Navy scraped together everything they had to get there, and achieve air-superiority. If the Argentinians were to invade and conquer those Islands, Placing their Aircraft in position to achieve air-superiority the RN cannot do a thing, and invasions to not work well without air support. D-day would have been a complete failure if the Germans Controlled the Air.

Well, it’s all about the different situation. If Iran said they will wipe out Israel, fine say it, I am confident Israel has the abilities, technology and will to thoroughly thrash the Iranians. The problem is that the Iranians are increasing the weight of their words, because of their desire for nuclear weapons. Thus war is not necessary but, if it has to come to this, war should be brought to Iran to remove the threat. If it all was left to words, yeah let them talk, but once the means to accomplish their promises was sought after, it changes the whole situation.

They lost their main advantage of air superiority as they have retired their fighter aircraft of the Fleet Air Arm, thus their carrier has Helicopters. The fact that the Royal Navy has also shrunk in the last 3 decades also further increases the dificulty in mounting and winning such an operation today.

I highly doubt Russia will get involved in this if escalates more. Keep in mind what happened in Serbia in the late 90's. Also I don’t think NATO will get involved in Syria, I think we should let them handle it on their own seeing as everyone was opposed in NATO's interference in Libya

I too see it as history repeating itself. Hitler wrote what he would do, and then waited until he had to ability to do it with a reasonable chance of success. Most people were appeasing Hitler and the Nazi’s in the mid 1930's and they are willing to appease the Iranians in the 21st century. In the 30's the world leaders had the master plan that Hitler was following, ignored it, and were surprised when he did what he had said he was going to do since before he was Chancellor. Unfortunately appeasing the Iranians in 2011 is going to end up the exact same way as it did in 1945 with a gruesome discovery that our screw-up cost millions of people their lives. How can we tell our grandchildren someday that hey Hitler told us what he would do, we ignored him, he did it cost 60,000,000 lives in the process. And then Iran told us they wanted to destroy Israel and we ignored them and then 82,000,000 people died. I think the world should act now, or stand by their decisions in the future and explain to the next holocaust survivors both Iranian and Israeli why we failed them.

It’s not like Hitler wrote in his book that he wanted to destroy France as a power, or I don’t know, conquer Poland and Czechoslovakia. The Iranians can't even determine if he is or is not a nuclear scientist, and what makes you think it is the US, Israel or any other foreign power? Could it be the Iranians just cleaning house and maybe just maybe removing people that a) spoke a little too openly to western nations, or b)were ready to defect. This event has no direct link to anyone except for the Claim made by Iran that Israel has committed this assassination. I think that if it came to assassinations, the Americans and Israelis could in fact come up with a better strategy to permanently end Iran’s nuclear ambitions rather than expose themselves to potential discovery for miniscule results.

In my mind, an Invasion is more of a threat then an unstable neighbour. In 1770's when the US was born, the Continental Forces invaded Canada and in fact put I believe quebec city under Siege and had plans to take over all northern British Colonies. In the war of 1812, the US war hawks believed that Nepoleon was keeping the British busy in Europe thus Canada would be easy addition to the US. The reason that no territory exchanged hands was that the British although occupied elsewhere, had more trained and experianced Soldiers and Leaders in BNA then the US. The US had overwhelming numerical superiority that was offset by the numerical superiority of the Royal Navy thus they had to defend all along their atlantic coast. In the 1860's the US possesed a well trained and experianced army, but at the same time their navy was still outgunned by the Royal Navy and the fact of the matter is that the US would have lost out on their lucrative foreighn trade if they went to war, just like what happened to them in 1812-1814 where their foreighn trade went from 100,000,000 dollars(Not adjusted for inflation) to just 7,000,000 dollars a year. This single issue almost led to New England separating from the rest of the United States in 1813/1814 because most of the Foreighn trade by the US was from that region. There might have been alot of huffing and puffing, but the real danger of war was minimal at worst and non existant at best.

I must appologise, I think I made a connection that few of you have the capacity to see unless there is a mushroom cloud over Tel Aviv. If I threatened you and on a completely unrelated note tried to aquaire a weapon for "peaceful" purposes would you make the connection or would you wait for me to come to your house with that weapon?

If Canadian Forces Soldiers were fired upon by someone from the Pakistani side of the border, I would expect the US and NATO Air units in the area to give air support. Likewise if US Forces were in the exact same situation and Canadian Forces Aircraft were tasked as air support I would expect them to do their job and assist the NATO Forces. There are two sides to this story and few people know what really happened there yet the vast majority are driven by blatant anti-american attitude to believe the Pakistani statements even though they have given little reason to be considered anything but an unrealiable source of information and an even less reliable ally ref. events of last May amongst MANY OTHER ISSUES that they have forces upon us and thus prolonged the Afghan war and promoted and assisted in creating instability in the region.
