Aliens sighted ð― ðļ
John Stone replied to paxamericana's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
The observable universe - the part we can see - is indeed finite at about 92 billion light-years across. We know this because light has had only 14 billion years to travel since the so-called Big Bang. That said, the Universe is expanding into 'what'? Where is the Universe expanding, 'from'? Care to tackle that question. ðĪŠ -
............ haha...... I think the Canadians, if not the World, now realize that they have relied on the US for too long Dude, it is nothing to be proud of. The truth is that the U.S. is a diminished nation ................ but the worst is yet to come. Admit it, is the US more influential, more trusted, relied upon today than it was before 'bone spurs'? Where once it might have been respect and perhaps feared, it is neither today. I advise u to read history - specifically the reelection of FDR, pre Pearl, and his realization that the US. could very easily become isolated on the World stage. China's objective is to do just that ........... they're winning - they owe Iran for this US comedown.

re: no one is going to risk angering the U.S. to help aid Canada. GuI think you would have to agree that American global influence has slipped.ðŦĒ Where once the U.S. negotiated with the knowledge that the most powerful countries stood behind them, it is now not the case at all - re: Hormuz, Iran is a great example............. and by extension the Gulf States. ........... to add further (strategic) damage to injury, the Gulf States, at a minimum are being driven into the welcoming arms of China's stability re; economics / diplomatic protection. I think u'll see the Canadians looking ever more to China re: trade ..................... ergo the new percent tariff mentioned in the recent CUSMA negotiations to deter such a move ........ likely in vain.......... Carney is giving 'bone spurs' the ð Trump is an incompetent fool, but far worse an impulsive, incompetent fool. A realtor as head of DNI ......... shared portfolio no less. ð A complete trainwreck.

Delaying and reversing demographic destiny
John Stone replied to paxamericana's topic in Religion & Politics
The 1st protects religious freedom and prevents gov. from interfering in religious practices. That said, the Constitution seems to be of less relevance.............. relies on SCOTUS for interpretation. Rule the Court, rule the land? U might be on to something. -

The U.S. is destined to be minority - majority in 10-15 years. ............. the rumor is that the minority is vindictive. -
Trump's Slush Fund is Dead, too
John Stone replied to robosmith's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
The Sword of Damocles? U.S. Dist Judge in Florida has agreed to reopen Trump's 10 bil lawsuit against the IRS after a group of 35 fed judges argued the so-called, 'settlement' that ended the case was a fraud on the court and improperly bypassed judicial scrutiny. ð -
Both of Trump's appeals in the Carroll cases have failed. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit affirmed the 5 mil verdict on Dec, 2024 and affirmed the 84 mil verdict on Sept 2025, finding the damages 'fair and reasonable' in light of what the court called 'extraordinary and egregious facts. The last option for 'bone spurs' is SCOTUS, where a petition has been filed and repeatedly rescheduled. Rule the courts, rule the land. ð

Is the Universe infinite? How could it not be (infinite) .................. on the other hand, how could it be (infinite)? Earth is special because it sustains life as we know it, within our Galaxy. That is it ........ we are only observing within the limits of our technology .............. miniscule, when considering 'infinite'. -
I assume ur asking why Canada will never be able to defend it's sovereignty ..................... without allies? Canada has the second largest geo-footprint on the planet? Canada's military strength is ranked around 50th out of 140 countries .......... capable, to a degree, for what has been described as a 'middle' power. Canada's threat is not so much defense, per se, but infringement on what is considered by Canada as sovereign territory - the North, specifically, the NWP. The NWP will shortly become as (economic) strategic as the Malacca Str. / Hormuz / Suez / Panama. Claiming sovereignty of this area, for Canada, does not rely on military strength (impossible), but diplomatic international strength.............. the reliance on international institutions. ......... U.N. and NATO .... a nod to NORAD. When confronting a superpower, it is important that 'said' superpower realizes that behind ur claim lays the power of the free world - ur allies. ............ The argument of 'sovereignty' is now leveraged - by this economic implied threat. Suppose I should mention that both the US and China recognize the NWP as an international waterway? Strategically, what is crucial to Canada's defense is to be seen as possessing a capable, equipped, well trained, military - that easily can contribute in a meaningful way to an organization like NATO. Oh, Canada ........... u were so foolish. The crows are coming home to roost - any military modernization is decades in the future .........

Indeed. Given the known Universe, the probability is likely low. The unknown Universe is infinite? -

Of course the Earth is one of many(??) planets in the Milky Way, suppose u could say that it is unique in the sense that it is the only planet - in the known world where complex life, including our specie, has evolved? In respect it is special ... but only to a minute galaxy? I think the term, 'Unidentified' is an accurate description. Does not prove the existence. -
I also agree that the southern border was totally out of control ............. as are the methods to rid the country of so-called rapists, murderers, drug dealers, children and those of color. It is becoming plain that the argument of sealing the border, was just a pretext leading to an agenda that is much darker and on many fronts. The 'people' have been punked ......... and the 'people's house, is simply a label. As is the Constitution. As is the GOP

re: ' It matters that America's legal system is in disrepute' ...........oh indeed, beginning with the DOJ and specifically Pam (the sham) Bondi, and wanna be, Todd Blanche. But really it is likely of more concern that the office of President - the entire Executive, is in disrepute and becoming more so. THAT should be ur concern............ and if it isn't then more the pity.
-
.......... dude, the trial is in the book? Does it really matter what u think? Thought not. The question is whether 'bone spurs' learned his lesson ........... re; the 85 mil. With his popularity running at record lows .......... who believes him. How sad that a Liar-in-Chief is the so-called, defender of truth and freedom. Pathetic and ur guilty by association. ð

Canada will never be capable of defending it's sovereignty. It needs allies ...political, military and economic. That said, Canada should strive to modernize to allow it to efficiently and effectively project force in concert with allies - training, equipment, language, strategy, ideology. Vietnam demonstrated that a conscripted military is a loser, if for no other reason than there are too many 'class deferrals'. 'Bone spurs' is a good example of class deferral.ð Commander-in-Chief? Ok! ð
