  1. I don't watch tv news. But if we did a side-by-side of literally any network's evening news broadcast vs the hyperpartisan dumb shit hannity does, the difference would be extreme and obvious.
  2. I dunno, you tell me. What's the name of David Muir's opinion show where he blasts republicans as evil and openly promotes democrats?Likewise, what's the name of sean hannity's show where he does actual objective nonpartisan journalism?
  3. Are they? I don't know them well. Could you cite an example of them speaking in support of Kamala Harris?
  4. Doesn't Hannity openly support trump in an essentially pro-trump popoganda opinion show?
  5. An October 23 CNN invite has been accepted by Harris. Will Trump put himself through that again?
  6. This is true. Americans have no perspective on inflation and how bad it can actually get. And any presidential candidate claiming they are going to fix the tiny bit of extra inflation we have is lying. Monetary policies by central bankers is the only tool in the toolbox and it's beyond the control of presidents and is going to happen the same way regardless of who is president. Harris did at least try to acknowledge the supply chain aspect of it, but even that is generally beyond a president to mitigate.
  7. Yes she literally did. And Trump people have no credibility to call other people liars.
  8. Wishful thinking. Nothing Trump did or said during the debate communicated any admiration for the US or positive aspirations for the country.
  9. I know, I find this very amusing.
  10. Ok even though you didn't answer the question, you seem to be implying that a small list of countries would be on "the list" for tarrifs. Trump did a bunch of China tarrifs when he was president. What it did was cause China to operate through other countries. Mexico has become one of the fastest growing manufacturing counties in the word. Stories of chinese people crossing the southern border is based on the millions of Chinese workers working in Chinese factories in Latin America. So when the rest of the world is all trading freely, what good does it do to have tarrifs on just one country?
  11. Question for the pro-tarrif conservatives. Are you wanting tarrifs just against China, or against every country?
  12. What IS the current republican position on tarrifs? Pre-Clinton era democrats were often fans of labor protecting tarrifs. It was neoliberal republicans since the Reagan days that popularized free trade dogma, even causing democrats in the 90s to change their tune on the subject. So am I now watching conservatives argue for the leftist position and watching liberals argue the right wing position on this issue?
  13. There are talking heads speculating that its some kinda power move. Pretty lame one if that's the case--to look like chicken shit for weeks for the chance to negotiating leverage for a more favorable debate setting.
  14. What I'm seeing here is conservatives admitting that on his own he's not smart enough to debate Harris. Only if he can hide behind a friendly mob.
  15. His closing remark was the script advisors crafted for him that he had trained for days to use during the debate. He ignored those practiced talking points for the previous hour and a half only to drag it out at the end after it was too late. From Trump Aides Reveal Just How Badly Trump Veered Off Script in Debate: "Trump advisers say that the Republican presidential nominee was also prepped on how to deflect Harris’s attacks back onto her, but he couldn’t help himself, launching into his trademark grievances like the 2020 election. They told him not to respond directly, but he did anyway." "The plan was to press the vice president about why she and President Biden weren’t implementing any of her solutions right now, and pin today’s problems on her and the administration, according to Axios. Trump was supposed to dismiss Harris’s plans for the future, point out failures in the present, and pin the blame on her for things like the disastrous U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan. But given the opportunity, Trump whiffed, offering up a word salad." "Trump’s advisers pointed to his closing argument as one of the few times when he appeared to stick to the script, but that wasn’t enough to erase his ranting and raving from earlier in the debate. Republicans have been hoping for years that one day Trump would eventually become presidential, leave behind his petty grievances, and focus on the important things. They thought he would do so after he was first elected president, and then again after the attempt on his life in July, but each time, he quickly dashed their expectations. Tuesday’s debate is only the latest evidence that he refuses to change."

Hm the ignore feature is nice for thinning out the extra pointless low quality contributors.

I'll probably use it at one point but then I worry that I'll miss the hilarious posts. After all we can all use a good chuckle in times like these.

  17. Trump: "THERE WILL BE NO THIRD DEBATE!" So looks likes he knows how it went.
  18. Wait, there's more! Ten warning signs regarding people involved in/with a potentially unsafe group/leader. Extreme obsessiveness regarding the group/leader resulting in the exclusion of almost every practical consideration.✅️ Individual identity, the group, the leader and/or God as distinct and separate categories of existence become increasingly blurred. Instead, in the follower's mind these identities become substantially and increasingly fused--as that person's involvement with the group/leader continues and deepens.✅️ Whenever the group/leader is criticized or questioned it is characterized as "persecution".✅️ Uncharacteristically stilted and seemingly programmed conversation and mannerisms, cloning of the group/leader in personal behavior.✅️ Dependency upon the group/leader for problem solving, solutions, and definitions without meaningful reflective thought. A seeming inability to think independently or analyze situations without group/leader involvement.✅️ Hyperactivity centered on the group/leader agenda, which seems to supercede any personal goals or individual interests.✅️ A dramatic loss of spontaneity and sense of humor.✅️ Increasing isolation from family and old friends unless they demonstrate an interest in the group/leader.✅️ Anything the group/leader does can be justified no matter how harsh or harmful.✅️ Former followers are at best-considered negative or worse evil and under bad influences. They can not be trusted and personal contact is avoided.✅️ Ten signs of a safe group/leader. A safe group/leader will answer your questions without becoming judgmental and punitive.❌️ A safe group/leader will disclose information such as finances and often offer an independently audited financial statement regarding budget and expenses. Safe groups and leaders will tell you more than you want to know.❌️ A safe group/leader is often democratic, sharing decision making and encouraging accountability and oversight.❌️ A safe group/leader may have disgruntled former followers, but will not vilify, excommunicate and forbid others from associating with them.❌️ A safe group/leader will not have a paper trail of overwhelmingly negative records, books, articles and statements about them.❌️ A safe group/leader will encourage family communication, community interaction and existing friendships and not feel threatened.✅️ A safe group/leader will recognize reasonable boundaries and limitations when dealing with others.❌️ A safe group/leader will encourage critical thinking, individual autonomy and feelings of self-esteem.❌️ A safe group/leader will admit failings and mistakes and accept constructive criticism and advice.❌️ A safe group/leader will not be the only source of knowledge and learning excluding everyone else, but value dialogue and the free exchange of ideas❌️
  19. Absolute authoritarianism without accountability ✅️ Zero tolerance for criticism or questions ✅️ Lack of meaningful financial disclosure regarding budget ✅️ Unreasonable fears about the outside world that often involve evil conspiracies and persecutions ✅️ A belief that former followers are always wrong for leaving and there is never a legitimate reason for anyone else to leave✅️ Abuse of members ❓️ Records, books, articles, or programs documenting the abuses of the leader or group ✅️ Followers feeling they are never able to be “good enough” ❓️ A belief that the leader is right at all times ✅️ A belief that the leader is the exclusive means of knowing “truth” or giving validation ✅️ Source: https://culteducation.com/warningsigns.html
  20. The second half of the debate trump was emotionally triggered after being repeatedly baited and was shouting nonsense. No Vice President implements policies.
  21. The one time she tried to do what trump did every question-- making another response beyond his alotted 2 minutes-- they cut her off. They let trump make an add-on extra comment final word to almost every question.
  22. That's a fair assessment. I agree. Though I don't think he's capable of a serious conversation about any policy issue.
  23. Looks like we're both a bit off:
  24. There are a lot of places that have some tradition of eating dogs and cats. The absurd lie in question here is that Haitian immigrants are stealing peoples cats and dogs, based purely on a rumor someone posted on Facebook.
