Check Washing (warning to all)
Fluffypants replied to Fluffypants's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Some of this depends on the type of business transaction. For instance I am in Property Management, so home owners and renters can link their payments directly to their account but when a property gets closed on, we have to receive the payment and papers to close the old account and open a new account and with us having 100s of these a day there is no way to link those payments to an account, all we would have is a mess of deposits going all over the place and us having to figure out what deposit goes to where. So we require checks and title companies want to send them to us the cheapest way possible so they send them by mail which is where they are getting intercepted and washed. Luckily for our clients we have fraud protection where every day we upload what checks we have cut for the day and what ach payments we have made so if anything comes in wonky like if we sent a check to John Smith for a 1000 dollars and we get a deposit for a Marge Jones for 1000 dollars our bank flags it and says you never said you sent this check out let us know if you want us to pay it and if we reject it or if we don't give our decision the check gets returned. -
Check Washing (warning to all)

Oh yeah, maybe not as common among the rank and file people, even though I do see a check book come out every so often at the grocery store. It is common amongst companies, our system that pays bills offer companies 3 ways to get paid, Virtual Credit Card, ACH or paper check and most choose paper check because that is the only one that doesn't incur fees. Virtual Credit Cards the most fees but is almost instant payment, ACH takes a day or two but has less fees and paper checks are completely free and takes however long it takes for the post office to deliver them. Lately it seems it takes longer than it took during the days of the pony express. We got invoice posted to our system after they drafted the account and I saw that the invoice date was December 28th and the date it came in was Jan 26th. It took so long to come in that it was already late when we got the bill, luckily for us we set up auto draft for utilities. -
Lately, it seems, that check washing has become a huge problem. If you don't know what check washing is, it is when people use chemicals to remove the ink from checks and then write in themselves as the payee. They have criminal groups infiltrating post offices and stealing anything that looks like a bill payment and even people wandering around neighborhoods looking for mailboxes with their flags up or even stealing directly from bank deposit boxes. In my line of work we recently have seen a rash of it with companies sending us cancelled copies of checks with names other than ours on them. I just wanted to make this post as a warning to everyone to be careful and follow the suggestions in this article. https://www.investigatetv.com/2024/01/25/check-washing-scams-still-rise/ My personal suggestion to you all is stop sending checks in by mail and just use online bill pay either through your bank or your vendors. I know this isn't the normal I hate your side type post and it probably is questionable as being in the Federal Politics section but it is a real issue.

All you all are doing is wasting time. Both WILL be overturned. You had 2 cases where a judge just decided Trump was guilty. The 83 million was literally the judge saying that he defamed her for saying he never raped her because even though the jury came back and said he didnt rape her it was still rape. The other case they claimed fraud when there is 0 damages to anyone and no complaints from anyone and the banks he supposedly defrauded wants him to keep getting loans from them and they were using a law that has never been used in this way before because when you want to try something new you want it to be against a former President. Jeez I have never seen anything like this before in my life. In Georgia you have Fani hiring her boyfriend with no experience as lead prosecutor paying far more than anyone else and taking lavish vacations with him that he paid for. Oops no she "paid him back" with the 1000s of dollars that she just has lying around the house in cash and amazingly that means there is 0 paper trail to prove it. Also there is a good chance they lied about when they started dating. We still aren't sure that Jack Smith's appointment was even legal right now because Gardner didn't go through the proper procedures for appointing a special prosecutor. These are the Keystone Facists running around going after their political enemy and managing to mess it up. If these three fall apart all you have left is Alvin Braggs case where Trump paid off a porn star and that case is beyond the statute of limitations and again they are using a law in a way they have never used it before to extend the statute of limitations.

Isn't paused it just isn't creating images of people This is literally what came up Maybe you should check before calling people liars.

The Democrat cult turned on him like vipers. That dude is not a fan of Trump and all he is talking about is the reality of NY right now. What is the advantage nowadays of building anything in NY they are overtaxed and the cost of living is out of control. You all have to look at the big picture of what just happened, I know its hard to look beyond your liberal blinders but, if you are in real estate and you are on the outside looking in they are seeing that one of their own just got r*ped for doing the same thing they all do. Do you really think they are going to want to build anything or buy any buildings anymore in NY if they can just say you committed fraud without trial and make some arbitrary amount to penalize you for and force you to have the money up front just so you can appeal.

What is super funny is when AI programs are allowed to learn on its own and make up its own opinions it takes all data it gets and becomes more racist than Robert Byrd. This time they biased it in the other direction and it overcorrected. Now it became an anti white racist. All this proved was that AI isn't close to ready and they need to keep it off the internet because like many it turns them into awful people

They have shut down its ability to generate pictures of people due to the backlash. One of the funniest I saw was what happened when it was asked to create a picture of WWII German soldiers and 1 was an Asian woman and another was a black man

You've Got Four Days, Trump
Fluffypants replied to Rebound's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Who says he did? Nobody involved with the transaction says he did. Valuations are subjective, Trump will say what he thinks its worth and the bank will tell him what they think its worth. This is how it works. There is no precedence for what they did to him. Why did they go for civil vs criminal? Why aren't feds jumping on the bandwagon here? Everyone knows this will get overturned. There are 0 damages to anyone. The Governor said the quiet part out loud and essentially told business owners don't worry we won't come after you, we just wanted Trump. They know this will get overturned but it hamstrings Trump in short term. Do you really think that all these cases are trying to be completed in an election year is a coincidence? Come on you liberals have to know this is wrong but you don't care because you are getting what you want. -

I want to know what damages Carroll has over Trump saying he didn't rape her. I wonder what her books sales would of looked like if there was no Trump in there or how many people would pay to interview if there was no Trump allegation. What exactly is the hard evidence that he ever even touched her let alone raped her. Then lets get to Leticia, where they used a consumer fraud statute for something no one even called fraud let alone did the consumer get hurt by it, in any way shape or form. The people that Trump purportedly defrauded don't even think they were defrauded. For a "crime" were there no victims and everyone got their money. My favorite is how he "defrauded" the insurance company and made no claims against the property, so he essentially paid a much higher rate for insurance for no gain. That makes complete sense. Do you not realize how crazy this is there was 0 due process, this was the kind of trial you see in banana republics. The judge convicted him before the trial started and then it was all about how much he was going to pay. Then Leticia puts how much she wants and he just gives it to her I bet if she said a trillion he would of given her that. What is more insane is he has to have the money to pay just to appeal and only has 30 days to come up with 400 million. How is any of this even in the realm of justice. OMG imagine just being Joe Schmoe where he gets a civil judgement for 2 million dollars without being able to defend himself and then they tell him if you want to appeal the decision you need to give us 2 million dollars and if Joe doesn't have that then the verdict stands and he loses everything. -

He is a sweet Grandpa to most of his grandchildren. One of them he either keeps forgetting exists or chooses to pretend doesn't exist. -

He is not the most dangerous man on Earth, I would say that distinction goes to Xi. Xi has people killed all the time too but we don't seem to make a big deal about that. You liberals are mad because you still believe that Putin cost Hilary the election. Before Democrats barely care what Putin did until 2016 and now he is the face of evil. Who remembers when Romney said Russia was our most dangerous adversary and Obama made fun of him for it. Also remember how Obama did little to go after Russia when they invaded Ukraine the first time and they took Crimea? This time though liberals are still fuming over Hilary so when Ukraine was invaded this time they were willing to give a crap and wear pins and empty our coffers to defend them. -
I wouldn't have a problem if the immediate answer to all national new shootings was we don't have all the details, lets not speculate, I don't have a problem with it. More often than not though it is a knee jerk reaction. I remember with the Gifford shooting immediately the media assumed it was a right wing tea partier and it was because Palin put out a pamphlet that put targets over congressional members pictures, they saw the name of the guy and looked him up and his name appeared in a Tea Party group. Unfortunately it was the wrong guy Turned it was liberal who didn't like an answer she gave him when he asked her a question. If a Muslim man goes into a place shouting "Allah Akbar" and shooting the place up its all, "well lets not make any hasty speculations" Its so bad that everytime there is a shooting and there is a knee jerk reaction I am always like "wait a week and see where we end up" because lately 9 times out 10 they are completely wrong.

Trump LOSES $355 MILLION PLUS INTEREST!!!
Fluffypants replied to Rebound's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
I hope New York doesn't spend that money on illegals because the going to have to pay it back as soon as the appeal goes through. -
I think politics has become so toxic that we will never see another President over 50% heading into an election year. I blame the loss of religion and community. I think we as people need to feel part of a group that is larger than ourselves and at one time people identified themselves through their religious beliefs and their community it created stability and believe it or not more flexibility in who they vote for. Now political parties are how they identify themselves and there are a lot of people who stick to the dogma of their party religiously. That is why the more extreme they go the more extreme their followers go.
