  1. I can't prove the negative any more than anyone else, but there is no evidence of funds being diverted from the fire department to illegal immigrants. And available evidence contradicts the basic premise. The fire department According to the LA Times, after the 2024-25 budget was passed, the city council approved $53m in pay raises for firefighters and $58m for new kit, such as firetrucks. Once that funding is taken into account, the fire department's operating budget technically grew this year, according to the newspaper. The LAFD has an overall budget of approaching $1bn, and it isn't the only department responding to the fires. But again, why you you simply believe some random unsourced, unsupported claim from social media--let alone one from a known pathological liar.
  2. Maybe find something from a credible source. The one above has posted lie after lie after lie about these fires--and thousands of others.
  3. Bullshit. Trump has made numerous reasonable and plausible nominations to other posts. This one is a sad, pathetic joke--and you know it. Good gods, imagine that your company tried to hire a CEO with no leadership experience, no record of success and a shit-ton of troubling personal behavior on record. You'd think that was absurd. Because it is. Now multiply that by an organization probably 100x that size. ProTip: Just because the big orange buffoon says or does something doesn't mean you need to pretend that it's acceptable. You too can grow a conscience--and if things go really well, a spine! And no, we hated RFK long before he had anything to do with Trump, because RFK is an anti-science loon gassing up quack medical advice THAT IS LITERALLY KILLING CHILDREN.
  4. That's right. You can't have a dictator if there are procedural checks or obstacles to unfettered power. Trump must eliminate the time-honored tradition of non-partisan civil service.
  5. Jeebus. The only substance in this man is a pint of whisky and a pint of Trump jizz. The latter is his only claim to qualification.
  6. He was asked point blank about even the possibility of an unconsitutional or legal order from any POTUS and could not even admit that there was any such thing was possible to require him to refuse such an order. Mike Pence is 10x the man this empty suit is.
  7. You're lying. Watch the video of his testimony. The question explicitly did not presume that. They drilled down to the basic question: Is it possible for any president of any party to give an order that would be unconstitutional or illegal? He refused to even acknowledge that such a thing was possible. And don't forget that Trump made MANY illegal orders or inquiries his last time in office.
  8. Everyone with even a shred of decency or patriotism will. Only traitorous schemers will think this patently unqualified and wholly corrupt goon assuming control of the military is a good idea. He's not qualified to hold the job, nor a man of any character to deserve the job if he were qualified.
  9. And no, I just watched and he was asked a VERY fair question: Is there any order that a Commander in Chief--any president of any party--could give that would violate the constitution. And the suck-ass couldn't even muster up the spine to acknowledge that such an order could exist. The proper answer is "I take an oath to defend the constitution and if an illegal order is given it is my duty to refuse it." What a weak-ass biotch. --His refusal speaks volumes. He may as well have whipped out a megaphone and yelled "Fark the constitution. I'll do whatever Trump says whenever he says it, whether it's constitutional or not."
  10. He's already: Threatened to invade two of our NATO allies in a land Advocated for violence against protestors Tried to deploy the army against civilians on J6 Egged on a murderous mob that was hunting his own VP Tried to overthrow democracy altogether But nah, he'd neeeeeeeeeever betray the sacred trust of the military if it served his ends. 🙄
  11. You can ask @DUI_Offender directly if you like. But it's not a reasonable assumption to make, nor a reasonable inference from what was actually posted. And it's certainly not true in my own experience.
  12. @myata I might have phrased that the other way around. Is there a future for democratic America in the Republican party? The Republican leadership is entirely anti-democratic, and some of the rank-and-file-- even on this forum-- are openly calling for an end to democracy and a transition to dictatorship. It feel like we're far more likely to cease living in a democracy than we are to see the end of the Republican cult.
  13. Sure, any civilian who has been in combat is qualified to run an organization of nearly 3 million people with nearly a trillion dollars in budget. You're a buffoon.
  14. 🤣Sure, "did he disagree?" is EXACTLY the same as "He said it and I quoted him." Jeebus...
  15. Now you are just blatantly lying. Yes, the quote is there for everyone to read. You don't seem to care that everyone can see you are a liar. That's odd.
  16. He who? Not the poster you quoted. You're really struggling with quotes today.
  17. It's a very strange--and false--impulse to assume one person would ignore another simply because they were challenged or uncomfortable or are for some other reason "hiding." There are simply people in life who are not worth listening to. I walk by aggressive panhandlers. I walk by doomsday prophets. I walk by street preachers. And it has nothing to do with being uncomfortable. They literally are not worth my time. And there are posters on this forum who are, again quite literally, not worth my time. I don't derive any value or perspective or even amusement from their presence. It's really that simple.
  18. Don't be silly. We all know that you lack the capacity for shame, or you'd have stopped posting years ago.
  19. Nope. You might want to check the context on that. 😉
  20. In the entire time I've been here I don't think you've ever made a relevant, insightful or useful comment. Ever. You are without value and I don't need to see your clutter in the forum anymore. Good luck in all your future endeavors.
  21. That wasn't a farking pun. You just had no idea WTF the American experiment means. A country of immigrants and refugees is "polluted" by immigrants and refugees? 🤮 I'm just grateful that as much as you wish you were American that your ignorance and hate are still Canada's problem. I'll take an earnest, hardworking immigrant over an entitled, hateful native any day.
  22. Those are quotation marks, not "paraphrase curlies" -- and Yarvin has called for dictatorship multiple times as a part of his half-assed blogger philosophy. Politicizing civil service is just a means to that end. And that's the solution you endorsed--literally the end of American democracy.
  23. Go read a book. The "American experiment" refers to the creation of a constitutional democracy, a government of, by and for the people--the first of its kind in the world. You clearly want to destroy that experiment, but you should at least know what it means before you throw it away in service to a dictator.
  24. May or may not? WTF? Are you pretending that you didn't read the quote you posted and applauded as "a solution"? The strategy he PROPOSES to achieve the aim of dictatorship is a farking footnote to the goal of ending a democratic America. Jeebus.
  25. I'm not going to watch a video of some asshat. You quoted the man calling for dictatorship and called him "a solution." You're welcome to bend the knee to some tyrant if a daddy is what you need, but go do it in some other country instead of trying to destroy this one.
