Hm... Is that how it went in Venezuela? Did he hand the government over to the opposition party that actually won the last election? Or did he keep the same corrupt government in place and squeeze them for oil? Trump did something that benefitted you. Don't confuse that with thinking that Trump did it to benefit you. He acts out of self interest. He will happily leave some version of the current government in place if he feels he can benefit from it. He simply wants to be involved in picking the next leader so that he can extract concessions and $ from them.

Oh, boy, armchair sports anatomy guy is here! You can make whatever excuses you want about what's "impossible" but it's a fact that he didn't really get hit. 5:30. Both angles synced up. His hands touch the car, but his body and legs do not. You can see quite a bit of daylight between them. Of course it's easier to understand in the video. He absolutely sweeps his left leg back before the vehicle could make contact. Your "deep expertise" on physiology aside, the camera didn't lie. You are watching a video frame-by-frame and dismissing what your lying eyes tell you because the Trump administration told a different story. That's some deep cult shit there. He contacted the car with his hands. If he did it hard enough he could have been bruised. That's my concession. And if you want to call a bruise "internal bleeding" you're just being deliberately dishonest. Nobody uses that description because it's reserved for a more serious condition. You're right though that she wasn't wrong. She was a deliberate liar. Over and over and over again. The difference between the two of you is that you won't get fired for it.

You don't need Twitter. I gave you a link to a very comprehensive frame-by-frame multi angle analysis. He leans in, pushes off and maintains separation. Again, low speed, low contact. Not even hard enough to knock him down on an icy street. If you want to say that he may have been bruised, sure, maybe. But "internal bleeding" usually means something serious, and that just didn't happen here. Anybody who's played tackle football at any level has been hit harder than this hundreds of time. At any rate, it doesn't particularly matter. The point was that he clearly did NOT get run over. Nobody tried to kill him with a car. The DHS lied, as they did habitually and reflexively under Noem. We'll see if Markwayne (could his parents just not decide?) can do any better. Based on Trump's favor, his past statements on these issues and his unforgettable attempt to instigate a street fight during a senate hearing, I'm deeeeeply skeptical. This administration seems primarily focused on reality-tv casting rather than competence.

It didn't really "hit" him at all. Yes, he and the vehicle made contact with one another, but because he put his hand against it to push off. He's leaning into it. His legs are away. There's a gap between his body and the car. It's why he didn't get knocked down. Click the link. Watch the frame-by-frame. You can start about 5 minutes in if you want. I see no way that caused internal bleeding. That seems VERY far fetched. I think that DHS is simply lying again, as they do constantly. The credibility of that organization is completely destroyed. So much so that even Trump was like "Wow, she's gotta go." When a pathological liar thinks you're hurting his credibility, it's a big red flag.

I have. It takes about 2 seconds of thinking. -- Opposing the means to an end does not mean opposing the end. Done. Again, Gato meet Gato. You'll apparently be surprised by your differences in opinion: "It baffles me how much you want to defend people that are intentionally killing thousands of Americans. Why? You also defend illegal aliens that have killed, raped and stole from americans. Why?" This is what YOU said about opposition to ICE tactics and "war crimes" on the high seas. Yet in both cases no one anywhere, least of all me, said anything to defend any of those people. I simply think the government should have standards of conduct that respect principles of justice.

I assume there are soooo many words and phrases that you don't know. That doesn't mean they are "made up" or that they don't describe very real things. Let me help you out. Here is certified kook, Doug Wison, defining Christian Nationalism in an interview last year while explicitly calling for the US to become a Christian theocracy. "Christian nationalism is the conviction that secularism is a failed experiment, that societies require a transcendent grounding in order to be able to function at all. And as a Christian, I believe that that transcendent ground should be the living God and not an idol." Did I mention that this lunatic is Hegseth's spiritual mentor and is now a regular presence in DC? "We don’t want to fight, but like our fellow Christians one thousand years ago, we must. Our American Crusade is not about literal swords, and our fight is not with guns. Yet." --Pete Hegseth

They were definitely successful. In October 2020, members of the conspiracy, claiming to be a “group of Proud Boys volunteers,” sent Facebook messages and emails (the “False Election Messages”) to Republican Senators, Republican members of Congress, individuals associated with the presidential campaign of Donald J. Trump, White House advisors, and members of the media. The False Election Messages claimed that the Democratic Party was planning to exploit “serious security vulnerabilities” in state voter registration websites to “edit mail-in ballots or even register non-existent voters.” The False Election Messages were accompanied by a video (the “False Election Video”) carrying the Proud Boys logo, which purported, via simulated intrusions and the use of State-1 voter data, to depict an individual hacking into state voter websites and using stolen voter information to create fraudulent absentee ballots through the Federal Voting Assistance Program (FVAP) for military and overseas voters.[1] Pretty sure some of the local kooks here still believe this stuff. Trump hates them. Undermining confidence in US elections with outlandish stories is his thing and he resents the competition.

Oh, come on... He was wearing a tactical vest--almost certainly at least soft armor He had his hands outstretched hands touching the car--his torso wasn't even struck He was standing on an icy road and still didn't make enough contact to even be knocked down. If that's causing internal bleeding, every peewee football player in the country is already dead. Remember, this is the same administration that said Ross was "run over" and that Pretti was a "domestic terrorist" and "brandishing a weapon." If you believe them instead of video evidence and common sense, that's your problem.

Maybe you should read that again. He argued that there were legitimate (non-holy war) reasons to attack Iran. I addressed that argument by pointing out that the same factual reasons he cited apply on a MUCH larger scale to a conflict he doesn't even think the US should support as a supplier, let alone a direct combatant. I then posited that the cause for his double standard is motivated by religious intolerance--in effect, a holy war. You weren't able to track that? And none of it is ad hominem.
-
I think you mean to say "allegedly suffered." As in, alleged by DHS. As in, the DHS that lied egregiously and obviously about so many details around these killings. I don't really think anyone who watched the videos finds that claim plausible. And now Noem is out. More of "the best people" who can't even last a single term in the most incompetent--and corrupt--administration in history.

1. I have dissected these wildly illogical accusations multiple times in multiple threads. *Including* the conversations I quoted. "What you said" are just inane accusations. They are not logical constructs. They are not arguments. Just dumb shit to say because you've been conditioned to think that the most outrageous take "wins." Protesting ICE is not a defense of rapists or pedophiles. Calling out war crimes (if we grant the absurd premise that we're at "war" with some little boats) is not defending criminals. Logic does not require fact or opinion. Just the basic ability to do logical processing. Critical thinking. 2. Believe me, I was but calling you Jeebus. That was an exclamation of disbelief at something very difficult to believe.
-
Nah, I'm just always hopeful that you will feel a sense of shame for what you're doing. Jeebus, that's literally the same conversation, replies in the same conversation. I just included CHB's for context so you could plainly see that you are doing exactly what you are pretending you didn't do--exactly what I explained you were doing in that thread and several others. You've got the brain rot bad.
-
Eh, it's hard to take you seriously given your position on an actual chaos generating nuclear power destabilizing the world order and killing hundreds of thousands of people in Europe. If the US is justified going to war in Iran for secular reasons, why aren't you calling us to join the war in Ukraine for the same secular reasons on a much larger scale. I don't have any problem with the civilized world intervening in Iran to stop a humanitarian crisis, but it should have been an international coalition. But the double standard you're running kinda indicates that you kinda like it as a holy war.
-
Is literacy a prejudice? Because I'm simply reading the complaints in the article. Is lighting the signal fire in Iran to trigger Armageddon and the "return" of Christ somehow not the language of a holy war? You think I have prejudices that are causing me to misinterpret that as the language of a holy war?🤣
-
You know you're being dishonest. You know you were doing exactly what I described. You can see it right there on the page. And you simply don't care. I didn't have to comb through your post history at all. Those were all replies that you made to me in recent conversations. On account of thinking my own thoughts, I remember the conversations I have. -- Cognitive atrophy is real. I didn't make that up. It's a known effect of social media dependency. The kids call it brain rot. Apt.
-
Because only the Congress had the authority to declare a holy war?
-
WTF? That's you, in your own words, making exactly the same braindead, specious arguments I described. It's you literally arguing that protesting ICE means defending rapists. Not only did I make my point, your pathetic denial is making a secondary point: if you can't acknowledge what is right there in front of your face, in your own words, as I try to coach you beyond it, you're beyond help. My charitable interpretation was too generous. That's a shame.

He won 49.8% of the votes cast. While that in itself is alarming, I like to think the fact that he couldn't manage a majority means there's still hope for us. That if we ever get to hold another fair and free election, we have a chance to redeem ourselves.

In addition to being the least qualified person to ever hold the job, our "Secretary of War," is a fundamentalist Christian nationalist and follower of certified nutball pastor Doug Wilson. He's also tatted up with extremist icons and phrases tied directly to Christian nationalism--and indeed echo the cries of medieval crusaders. And now his military leadership are telling troops that... well, read for yourselves. Newsweek Some U.S. military leaders are telling troops that the Iran war is part of "God's divine plan" featuring President Donald Trump and Jesus, according to a religious freedom advocacy group. In response to Newsweek's request for comment on the matter, the Pentagon talked about Trump's action in Iran. Mikey Weinstein, founder and president of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, said the nonprofit group has received more than 200 complaints from roughly 50 military installations since Saturday involving reports of U.S. commanders linking Christianity to the "biblically sanctioned" war in Iran. "This morning our commander opened up the combat readiness status briefing by urging us to not be 'afraid' as to what is happening with our combat operations in Iran right now," one complaint reads. "He urged us to tell our troops that this was 'all part of God’s divine plan' and he specifically referenced numerous citations out of the Book of Revelation referring to Armageddon and the imminent return of Jesus Christ. He said that 'President Trump has been anointed by Jesus to light the signal fire in Iran to cause Armageddon and mark his return to Earth.'" All of that is objectively insane, but it's also not a joke. With this nonsense going on, are we any different than jihadists and crusaders? And do these nutters not recognize that contextualizing our military action as a holy war (in addition to being unAmerican) invites escalation and reprisal not just from Iran, but from the rest of the Islamic world? Are we not just becoming exactly what radical terrorists have accused us of being? Are we not just legitimizing more terrorism?
