You keep clinging to that 'by law' thing even though you and your type were screaming about how unfair the law was until you got it changed. Sorry, but 'by law' means nothing to me. My disgust is with YOU, and with the fashionably correct politicians and others who have allowed themselves to be herded into an illogical and unscientific position that ignores human biology and harms children. The mentally ill people who regard themselves as being another gender have my pity. They should get psychiatric treatment except the medical establishment has caved to the desperate need not to be called names by your type.

The only people I like to ostracize are dumbass ideologues like you who ignore reality in favour of your feverish political and ideological fantasies. Your trans beliefs are fundamentally homophobic and inhumane. But that's part and parcel of how your type operates. Screw what happens to ordinary people. Can't make an omelet without breaking a few hundred thousand eggs, after all.

Oh THERE'S a good idea. Leave a military alliance when we're practically unarmed, and have Russia on our border in the North just as the North is starting to open up to being traveled and having its natural resources developed. Yeah, I'm sure your Russian friends will be kindly when they take whatever the hell they want.

The problem with Canada's embracing of a green world.
I am Groot replied to I am Groot's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
My reasoning is if the Chinese and Indians are still pouring water into the pool from firehoses it serves little purpose for us to go bankrupt trying to bail it out with our dixie cup. -
An interesting grab bag of information about how the Chinese tried to influence several Conservative MPs and how they operate in Canada. And meanwhile, what is the government doing about it? Crickets chirping... Not to mention that there's no fear from their agents because they know nobody here is going to do anything about it. China sees Canada as a “high-priority target” and employs “incentives and punishment” as part of a vast influence network directed at legislators, business executives and diaspora communities in this country, according to a top-secret intelligence assessment from the Canadian Security Intelligence Service. The CSIS report is an overview of Chinese government foreign interference in Canada, ranging from investigating a Conservative MP’s relatives in China to harassing a mainland Chinese student in Canada who publicly supported Hong Kong’s democracy movement. The CSIS report said China sees Canada as a key target as it’s a member of the Five Eyes intelligence-sharing alliance, which also includes the United States, Britain, Australia and New Zealand, because the country has a “robust reputation that can be used or co-opted to help legitimize [Chinese Communist] Party interests. It said China seeks to shape political conduct and policy in order to persuade Canadian governments to reject or at least fail to support what it considers “problematic” U.S. administration policies. It also wants to generate positive portrayals of the Chinese government in Canada and increase the likelihood that Ottawa, the provinces and major cities “defer to PRC authority” where possible. In addition, the report said Beijing seeks Canadian support for its controversial Belt and Road initiative, where China is pouring US$1-trillion into building railways, ports and pipelines from Asia to Africa, as part of what critics regard as a state-directed effort to bolster Chinese political influence and extend the country’s military reach. https://www.theglobeandmail.com/politics/article-china-targets-mps-csis/#comments

The problem with Canada's embracing of a green world.
I am Groot replied to I am Groot's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Yeah? How's that going so far? The West are the only countries penalizing themselves with high energy costs. China, India and the rest are still building coal plants. Sure, there's talk of tariffs but it's just talk. As for isolating Russia, did you know that Russia is by far and away the largest source of enriched uranium needed to power the world's nuclear reactors? It supplies the fuel for almost all of Europe's nuclear reactors. Meanwhile, China supplies the batteries and solar panels and other necessary parts for solar and wind power plants, along with controlling most of the rare minerals. -
This article points out just what the drawbacks are of going all in on green energy. This is something the media and politicians prefer to ignore as they extol the virtues and benefits of electric vehicles and solar power. Increasing the cost of energy makes us poorer and China richer. Not all of us, of course. The wealthy who have invested in Chinese companies are making out fine. But middle-class people in the West are already struggling to heat their homes and fuel their cars. The shift to electric cars is certainly no win for the West’s working and middle classes. But it is an enormous boon to China, which enjoys a huge lead in the production of batteries and rare-earth elements needed to make EVs, and which also figure prominently in wind turbines and solar panels. China’s BYD, which is backed by Warren Buffett, has emerged as the world’s top EV manufacturer, with big export ambitions. Meanwhile, American EV firms struggle with production and supply-chain issues, in part due to green resistance to domestic mining for rare-earth minerals. Even Tesla expects much of its future growth to come from its Chinese factories. Building cars from primarily Chinese components will have consequences for autoworkers across the West. Germany was once a car-manufacturing giant, but it is expected to lose an estimated 400,000 car-factory jobs by 2030. According to McKinsey, the US’s manufacturing workforce could be cut by up to 30 per cent. After all, when the key components are made elsewhere, far less labour is needed from US and European workers. It’s no surprise that some European politicians, worried about a popular backlash, have moved to slow down the EV juggernaut. -- This dynamic is found across the entire sustainability agenda. The soaring energy costs in the West have helped China expand its market share in manufactured exports to roughly equal that of the US, Germany and Japan combined. American manufacturing has dropped recently to its lowest point since the pandemic. The West’s crusade against carbon emissions makes it likely that jobs, ‘green’ or otherwise, will move to China, which already emits more greenhouse gases than the rest of the high-income world. Meanwhile, the Chinese leadership is looking to adapt to changes in the climate, instead of undermining economic growth by chasing implausible Net Zero targets. There are clear class implications here. California’s regulators recently admitted that the state’s strict climate laws aid the affluent, but hurt the poor. These laws also have a disproportionate impact on ethnic-minority citizens, creating what attorney Jennifer Hernandez has labelled the ‘green Jim Crow’. As China’s increasingly sophisticated tech and industrial growth is being joyously funded by US venture capitalists and Wall Street, living standards among the Western middle class are in decline. Europe has endured a decade of stagnation, while Americans’ life expectancy has recently fallen for the first time in peacetime. Deutsche Bank’s Eric Heymann suggests that the only way to achieve Net Zero emissions by 2050 is by squelching all future growth, which could have catastrophic effects on working-class and middle-class living standards. Rather than the upward mobility most have come to expect, much of the West’s workforce now faces the prospect of either living on the dole or working at low wages. Today, nearly half of all American workers receive low wages and the future looks worse. Almost two-thirds of all new jobs in recent months were in low-paying service industries. This is also true in Britain. Over recent decades, many jobs that might have once supported whole families have disappeared. According to one UK account, self-employment and gig work do not provide sustenance for anything like a comfortable lifestyle. Rates of poverty and food shortages are already on the rise. As a result, most parents in the US and elsewhere doubt their children will do better than their generation, while trust in our institutions is at historic lows. https://www.spiked-online.com/2023/04/24/the-inhumanity-of-the-green-agenda/

So this is for subscribers only but I'll copy and paste some of this to demonstrate how silly it is to take people like this seriously in their claims to be female. Dylan Mulvaney is a 26-year old biological male, who was accepted by family and peers in his theatrical milieu as merely flamboyantly gay, up until March 2021. It strikes me that if someone was really were serious about a gender change, they would say they were becoming a “woman,” not a “girl.” Mulvaney’s personality and demeanour are much the same as before the transitioning, but with new costumes and makeup. Mulvaney’s 365 day gig radiates “camp” performance. The essence of camp, a style of self-presentation associated with gay men, philosopher Susan Sontag wrote, is “its love of the unnatural: of artifice and exaggeration.” Camp is defined in the urban dictionary as “being so extreme that it has an amusing and sometimes perversely sophisticated appeal.” Exactly. The whole point about camp performance is that both the performer and the “sophisticated” audience are in on the joke. Mulvaney’s gambit is paying off handsomely. From the minute the 365 days gig began, fame, followers and real money have come Mulvaney’s way. With endorsements from fashion brands like Kate Spade, Ulta Beauty and others, Mulvaney has reportedly earned more than a million dollars. Then there’s the “love ya”— themed merch you can buy on Mulvaney’s website, an unspecified “portion” of which goes to an LGBT project. Not bad, considering the Covid lockdown had left Mulvaney, at that time a member of the Book of Mormon musical ensemble, unemployed, with time to kill, “and without the creative means to do what I loved.” What Mulvaney “loved” was entertaining people, in this case through an over-the-top parody of girlhood that is campy and played for laughs. The Bud Light ad itself hit much the same tone. The sophisticates should have laughed. But they were afraid to. The sophisticated actor Drew Barrymore kneeled reverently on air before Mulvaney, and at the White House where Mulvaney informed President Biden that “this is my 221st day of publicly transitioning,” that sophisticated champion of trans rights responded, “God love you.” Unsophisticated people — otherwise known as Budweiser’s “market” — weren’t afraid to laugh. They simply didn’t find Mulvaney’s antics in the bubble bath funny or in any way relatable. They felt they’d been dissed by a brand unaware of what would appeal to its core customers, and they were right. The backlash to the Mulvaney Bud Light ads was explosive, best summed up in a “What the f— were you thinking” video posted on Twitter that showed an entire grocery refrigerator of empty, sold-out shelves of beer, with only the Budweiser inventory completely untouched. It wasn’t only flyover-country conservative Americans who objected. Progressive trans icon Caitlin Jenner expressed dismay over one of Mulvaney wearing revealing “shopping shorts” and singing “Normalize the bulge. We are normalizing the bulge.” She wrote, “Let’s not ‘normalize’ any of what this person is doing. This is absurdity!” A Reddit poster wrote: “…the way Dylan made a show of her transition really rubs me the wrong way. Like her trans identity was a new car she just brought home from the dealership.” https://nationalpost.com/opinion/woke-dylan-mulvaney-campaign-was-never-going-to-work-for-bud-light

Why would you put trans folks and homosexuals together in that way? The two are polar opposites. One posits that if a little girl exhibits masculine traits she should be made into a physical boy. The other says that in all likelihood this little girl will turn out to be a lesbian. Yet we have people feeding them puberty blockers which will result in lifelong physical and psychological problems. The advocates of trans people even suggest males who call themselves women but don't transition have to be treated exactly like women by lesbians. And any lesbian who rejects their 'girl penis' is a hateful TERF and transphobic. Which is almost a laughably misogynistic and anti-lesbian attitude that could have been brought up by the far right. Ie, if you're a woman and you don't want to sleep with a person with a penis you're guilty of unforgivable behaviour. I mean, if every adolescent who is attracted to the same sex and has behavioural traits of the opposite gender is called a trans now and given drugs and surgery wouldn't that mean there'd be no more homosexuals?

I think most of us are just tired of having this bullshit shoved in our faces, tired of companies and politicians virtue signalling on behalf of it, tired of having reasonable judgment be termed a phobia. This Dylan guy is not transgender. He's an actor putting on a play and making money at it. Most trans people are really afflicted by various psychological and behavioural problems and are seizing on this either for attention or an excuse as to why they're so screwed up. Especially the ones that make no effort to actually transition physically.
-
Isn't just about everything about transgenderism asserted without evidence? AFAIK the only actual semi-scientific studies that back up most of what the activists are saying are tiny and poorly researched. In short, there's really no evidence behind much of their beliefs in gender fluidity and that people are not 'assigned' a gender at birth. Don't get me wrong. Gender dysmorphia is an actual thing afflicting a tiny number of people. These people know there's something wrong almost as soon as they can talk. But the idea that people who are in their twenties and thirties suddenly become aware they're the wrong gender has no basis in science.
-
The trans thing has been pushed by the progressives to such an extent elements of the Left nearly get hysterical at the slightest doubts expressed about any aspect of it. To them a guy is 100% female the instant they say they are. No psychological tests or medical efforts at transitioning are necessary. And if that person is eight years old, so what? Give them the hormone blockers. Rain fire and brimstone on anyone who tries to talk them out of it!

Trump is a man of vast ignorance whose understanding of world geopolitics could fit on the tab from one of his soda cans. The cold war is on right now between the West and the Axis powers of China-Russia-Iran.

Is Bill C13, new language law, a real threat to Canada?

Media reports majority do not support Monarchy
I am Groot replied to blackbird's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Of course they don't. They've been taught that only white supremacists would show the slightest interest, care or concern for our culture (which Trudeau says we don't have anyway) or our nation (which Trudeau says doesn't even exist). He brags about us being a 'post nation state'. What does that mean, especially when combined with saying we have no core identity? It means there are no such people as Canadians. -

All of that is a pretty low bar to pass. Our politicians are all weasels and the Americans' are worse.
