  2. “Murica” became a banana republic the moment a narcissist with a populist rhetoric reminiscent of Maduro in Venezuela entered the political stage. The fact that MAGA folks are unable to see Trump for what he really is, is astounding. He has a solid cult following of people who have given up on any semblance of critical thinking.

Up in arms because of what the FBI did in Maralago?  The CIA has been doing similar overseas for decades! The only difference is that the veil has been lifted and some Americans are finally aware of the stench coming out from within the USA.

And let’s not forget Biden is a disgrace and Democrats are way over their head with no viable options… poor Murica!

But in all fairness, the only country able to bring down the USA is the USA… and they’re well on their way to doing just that.   Cheers!

  3. American politics is in the throes of death - the hope being something better is reborn from the ashes of all the mess.

There’s not a single democrat that can be taken seriously, that’s why they will lose 2024.

Tulsi is a hybrid, I don’t think of her as either Democrat or Republican. She makes so much sense; she’ll never be taken seriously.  We could play the “woke card” and say it’s because she’s a woman of color, but that’s not it. She has integrity and that’s something frowned upon in politics and why she’s been shunned.

Trump had solid policies especially when it came to the border and non-interventionism. I liked those two. Unfortunately, he has become too toxic to half the country. It’d be best if he differs to someone like Ron DeSantis and remains backstage – he can still run things from the shadows.

The MAGA rhetoric has become to divisive and hateful, if he runs and wins, America will go down in flames – we can expect civil unrest, but then, something similar can happen if he loses…

Poor USA, it cannot pull its act together. Its time is finally up; let the center of power move to Asia.

  4. Whatever happens next, the USA already lost and by this I mean the global south and specifically the east are seeing the empire for what it really is. However, let’s be clear, that doesn’t mean China wins…

In addition, Taiwan will be the one to pay the highest price since its being led down the primrose path, just like Ukraine.  Let’s not forget the USA’s knack for proxy wars or their opportunistic stance when it comes to them: “We fight them there, so we don’t have to fight them here”.

When will subservient states understand this? Never, as long as the USA floods them with foreign aid at the expense of American taxpayers.

  5. The visit is viewed as a provocation because China sees Taiwan as part of their country so to them it’s a security/sovereignty issue. Also, they’re probably irked that the USA has a short memory span and “forgets” agreements signed in the distant past… 1972!

Here’s a short video (4:35) that explains the situation very well.

I’m more interested in finding out how will the retaliation play out.  Will it be only focused on Taiwan, only economic, will the USA experience any kind of consequences or is China a toothless tiger?

  6. Actually, it’s only the west that thinks the USA has to BE the hegemony, the global south welcomes a multipolar world where there’s an option of choice.

The USA misconstrues itself as the shining city on the hill because they are the superpower; they get to write history…

However, if you want examples of terrible actions, I give you: Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Yemen, Somalia, etc.  And that’s only in the ME, too many to list all.   Launching asymmetrical wars of aggression to steal other countries’ resources is as low as it gets.

  7. By poking at the giant developing nation, the aim is to force it to fire the first bullet — and then use that to paint China as the protagonist, the bully that the rest of the world must unite against.

Pelosi just landed in Taiwan – what is she thinking!?! It seems USA’s foreign policy could be summed up as:  Let’s scratch the tiger balls just for thrills…

What are your thoughts, is the goal to turn Taiwan into Ukraine 2.0?

  8. When you’re “the bestest” but only in your mind and others don’t see it – the definition of delusional.

BTW, it’s not about replacing the USA with China, Russia or Iran, it’s about realizing America squandered its political capital to such an extent, that now we’re moving to a multipolar world.

USA can’t do anything about it, they’ve lost credibility on the global stage.

  9. Pedophiles are the scum of the earth, and yes, I believe Biden is one. Too many photos, the diary, and even Hunter calling him Pedo Joe – disgusting how many are turning a blind eye.

Trump is an uncouth narcissist with an extremely low opinion of women that thinks money and power allow him to get away with terrible behavior. Unfortunately, his cult following enables him to an unhealthy degree and even applauds him, conflating boorishness with freedom of speech.

What a terrible place America is in!  it’s very depressing to see how many think Trump is the answer and want him back… No doubt there’s been a decline in what’s expected from a politician since Bush Sr. The deterioration is apparent to anyone looking, the respect the USA used to garner is no were to be seen anymore. Trump started it, but Biden has solidified that view – both are such clowns!

  10. Brzezinski made an insightful analysis in his famous book The Grand Chessboard. He pointed out that "Potentially, the most dangerous scenario would be a grand coalition of China, Russia, and perhaps Iran, an 'antihegemonic' coalition united not by ideology but by complementary grievances." His warnings seem on point…

I wouldn't have made the assumption I knew the answer then tried to pretend I didn't do that or didn't have a horse in the race when it was made clear both propositions were false. You did that though.

I didn't make an assumption. IMO Conservatives are more susceptible to CT, especially since Trump entered the stage and manipulated them to gain votes.  Also, they're more belligerent.  How many times did you use the term "leftists" derisively?  The only "horse in the race" I have, is trying to figure out the conservative mind...  for example: why do conservatives get easily annoyed when a question they don't like is asked?

No you're not. I'm not even going to read past that.

Let's see the title up close to make up our own minds:

"Why are Conservatives more susceptible to believing conspiracy theories?"

Now let's ask ourselves, is the person asking that question trying to push a point? Doesn't it seem like the person asking that question has already answered it for himself and with a little support would be all over the gloat of what he believes is his cleverness for bringing it up.?

Sorry, pardoner. I won't be apologizing for heading you off that pass.

BTW, in case you missed it, his title doesn't ask if you believe the claim. It assumes the truth of it then asks why that is.

Don't pee on my head and tell me it's raining, Bud.

How would you have asked?  School me please...

    Oh and cut the crap.

I read the title to this thread. I know what you're trying to push.

I'm asking a question which evidently you can't handle - I'm not pushing for anything, I'd like to understand the conservative mindset.

Yes, energy goes where attention goes. Perhaps by being exposed to the notion that conservatives are more susceptible to CT, I fall for confirmation bias and encounter it more. Fair enough!  But just like conservatives that fall for the "all democrats are pedophiles, satanists and degenerates".  Tell me it ain't so!

In addition, not only are Conservative more susceptible to CT, but they're the first ones to attack and name-call when they don't like what's said - just like you did.  And yes, that's IN MY EXPERIENCE, because that's how you form opinions.

BTW, instead of assuming, watch the video, you may learn something...

I did notice something I connected with on the little Wikipedia scan you had me do.

    ---

There is no "97% consensus" of what they began calling "Climate Change" once you get them to admit what they're really pushing is a proposed, inevitable, calamitous catastrophe of human caused global warming. There is no convincing science of that. Don't forget the word "inevitable" if you choose to respond to that. This supposed 97 % consensus of such pushed by "Progressive" ideologues like Barrack Obama and Wikipedia is the actual conspiracy theory. A 97% consensus of a catastrophe of anthropogenic global warming is a  bogus "consensus." It doesn't exist. It's false, fake, a hoax, a conspiracy theory.

But don't think you'll ever get that fact past the leftist editors at Wikipedia.

Thanks for taking the time, much appreciated.

EVERYONE is susceptible to conspiracy theories. However, I’m not going to lie, it bothers me that conservatives (for the most part) debate from a standpoint of superior certainty.  And BTW, I'm not a "leftist"...

I don’t trust Wikipedia, mainly because it’s easily edited. There’s no quality rigor as to what is posted there, but for a list of conspiracy theories, I’m ok referencing it.

There’s so much data on climate change, who holds the truth?

If you have the time, curiosity and inclination, I recommend you watch Daniel Schmachtenberger video: The War on Sensemaking, I found it very insightful.
