The psyche of the American people is very different to the rest of the world. It seems they’re prone to see bogeymen everywhere and always feel vulnerable. That explains their massive defense budget, never mind they’re the ones constantly engaging in wars of aggression.
If government needs an obscene defense budget, why wouldn’t Joe Blow need a gun?

Florida is very popular, with both conservatives and liberals, that’s for sure. Both are moving there in record numbers and for different reasons. The economy is already suffering, and locals are bearing the brunt. Are you aware of the spike in rents? Obscene! And since Florida prohibits rent control, it's harming Floridians to the benefit of New Yorkers and Californians who can afford to pay the ridiculously high prices.

DeSantis passed a Bill into law that never should have been necessary in the first place. Common sense dictates that small children shouldn't be bombarded with information of a sexual nature at their schools. That's a family matter.
I don’t know how many times or in how many different ways I have to say I agree with DeSantis. Florida educators shouldn’t be teaching about sexual orientation or gender identity in kindergarten through third grade. And parents should be able to sue if the schools or instructors have been in violation. Why would anyone want to discuss sexual orientation or gender identity with a 7yo when there are so many other topics of greater relevance to their development?
FYI – Read my previous posts. I agreed, the word GAY isn’t mentioned anywhere on the bill.
What I argued from the get-go, is the financial retaliation against a corporation because you dislike their position. How does that support freedom of speech?
Also, we still have to see the consequences of taking away Disney’s SB4 designation. Was the designation fair? Probably not, however, now DeSantis has to figure out how exactly will this affect Florida’s economy. Who on earth would visit Orlando if it wasn’t for Disney?

I never claimed fathers aren’t needed. On the contrary, fathers and the family unit are essential in a well-functioning society. People don’t want children or as you say, are denying that instinct because a very grim picture has been painted of the future.
Humanity needs a balance. Women and their feminine attributes have been taken for granted and diminished for so long they've decided to do it on their own. Children pay the price and ultimately society. If you grow up in a single-parent household and turn out to become a well-adjusted adult, it makes the best argument for how marriage or a traditional family unit aren’t indispensable.
Times are changing and there’s no way back, now we need to find a way to make this trend work.

To me, the 12-week time limit makes sense because that’s when most women have natural miscarriages. Actually, most prefer not to announce they’re pregnant before the 3-month mark for this reason.
Having an abortion in months 6-9 is an abomination; however, how many of these types of abortions are happening? I sure hope not many and believe they’re being used as propaganda to further the pro-life agenda. Planned Parenthood has been vilified to the point some people think of it as “satanic central”. I’m very skeptical of hyperbole and that’s exactly what this line of rhetoric is.

I kind of/sort of understand the “Abortion is an injustice” argument, but fetuses aren’t people.
A greater injustice is to have the fetus come to term in a rape or incest case – for both mother and child. Then expect the mother to take care of a child she didn’t want in the first place. And let’s not forget many of these women are very young girls. Government supports grudgingly and (conservatives for the most part) makes a big stinking deal about these benefits. They call the mothers moochers and wonder when they’ll get a job, and why they require medical insurance or food stamps.
Abortion shouldn’t replace birth control and should be avoided after 12 weeks. Birth control options should be readily available to everyone. Abstinence doesn’t work.
Comparing taking a vaccine to have a child is ludicrous. How many vaccines do you have to feed, clothe, educate, and take care off until they’re 18yo?
This is a woman's issue and they should have the choice to decide. Just like an egg and bacon breakfast: The chicken is interested, the pig is involved. Men weighing in, having no clue what’s like to carry a baby for 9 months are talking from a purely theoretical standpoint.
Let’s also not forget the rise in single-mother families. I commend all the men commenting on this thread. Obviously you view yourselves as good fathers and role models, and that’s a beautiful thing! Unfortunately, that’s not the case for the majority; most men don’t want to have a child, and even less take responsibility for him/her. This is happening across the board, not only with black/brown men.

Biden proposed during his presidential campaign forgiveness in the following instances:
- If you attended a public college or university
- If you used the loans for undergraduate tuition and
- If you earn less than $125,000.
Isn’t the real issue why education has become so expensive? Universities are operating like any other “for-profit” business.
Also, if a college degree hasn’t enough value for the student to pay off, why should it have any value for taxpayers expected to pay it off?

Politics and ruthless crony capitalism go hand in hand. Disney is no saint, it has taken advantage of every government loophole to increase profits to the delight of its shareholders.
However, to laugh off pedophilia claims is exactly what the powerful want. That’s why every time it comes up; it immediately gets labeled as a conspiracy theory. There’s a very sickening and worrying trend to normalize such abhorrent behavior. If DeSantis wants to stop it, I’m with him.

I believe we have a soul and it is our soul that’s makes us different from other people. Physical attributes and material wealth aren’t that meaningful or determine who we are. It is soul.
That would explain why so many “live lives of quiet desperation”; there’s a yearning to feel connected, to meet people that “get you” – your soul tribe.
And animals have souls too, that’s what kills me when I see them abused. Just because we cannot communicate with them doesn’t mean they don’t feel or that their existence is less important than that of us humans…

He lacks the ability to be neutral, which a peace negotiator should be first and foremost. He was unfit for the role. He exposed USA’s hypocrisy; you cannot broker peace negotiations if from the get go (Trump’s presidency) you’re on Israel’s side. What a joke! BTW, AIPAC is so powerful the #BDS movement has had trouble getting traction.
TBH, my main concern is the genocide of the Palestinian people. Israel is a rogue state and what’s going on there amounts to genocide, some compare it to SA’s apartheid.
