  3. A friend of mine who moved to Alberta 17 years ago from Montreal compared the Senate scandal to the Nuremburg trials.
  4. Read The Big Shift by John Ibbitson
  5. http://www.vhemt.org/ http://crisisofcivilization.com/ These are some interesting sites on the current predicament facing humanity. The first is basically a website that advocates a voluntary die-off, the second is a link to a video about the Crisis facing Global Civilization...it being a nexus of issues such as terrorism, unsustainable debt, food shortages, peak oil, water shortages, resource wars, and climate change. Food for thought!
  6. Interesting points, thanks.

  10. What a horrible disaster that video is madness, it was a raging inferno. Unbridled greed, I like the NDP ideas for safety.
  11. Of course, the rich deposits of oil in the North Sea are in dispute if Scotland becomes a country. I made the comparison to Quebec, but of course, Scotland uses English, except for the odd Bonny or Dri.
  12. Hi there, I recently attended a conference on health in the usa where I met some fellow colleagues from Scotland, Edinburgh. I was aghast at how political the one of them was. He was very prejudice against the English, even bragged about one his fellow countrymen killing an Englishman and skinning his back and using it as a sheath for his sword (ages ago likely). What are your thoughts of Scotland seperating from Great Britain and becoming its own country?

  14. It is definitly regrettable what he did, but the NCR designation is a compassionate policy that understands that while ill people are not making decisions with a sound mind. Hallucinations, delusions and racing thoughts can create a situation where bad things happen, all too often mentally ill people end up in jail. And sadly there is very little mental health care for them there. On a positive note, mental health outcomes can largely be turned around with programs like Clubhouse International. See: http://www.iccd.org The clubhouse model creates a community where wellness is the main goal, and people can focus on recovery.

  16. Check www.peakprosperity.com for related info on this topic The site creator is Chris Martenson, he is an activitist.
  17. it certainly is a complicated issue.
  18. http://www.nytimes.com/2013/03/31/opinion/sunday/sundown-in-america.html?src=me&ref=general&_r=0 Here is a link to a controversial article By DAVID A. STOCKMAN over on the New York Times website. It refers to the bleak outlook and just how desperate governments are getting to prop up the "exponential growth" paradigm.
  19. It's the truth. I see substance abuse quite often. More importantly I deal with the people whose lives it affects. You think your mental health is ironclad but its Not.
  20. I say so because there may not be enough evidence to support a direct causal link, that doesn't change my opinion, I still believe that it there is a direct causal link between mental illness and substance abuse. Like I said earlier.
  21. IT may not directly cause, but there is a definite link between mental illness and substance abuse of all kinds.
  22. One thing I agree with is that you have to be consistent. Substance abuse of all kinds is a major problem, tobacco, alcohol, hard drugs, pot.
