Incidentally, I inadvertently didn't post that part but I agree it should be mentioned too. Whichever government did it, I don't agree with it. My criticism was directed at government, period. I am against that decision. But I wonder why the Liberals allowed it to continue the past five years. Why didn't they stop it? Conservatives were no better than Liberals at protecting Canadians from China. Didn't the Liberals spend a vast amount of money on the Asia Infrastructure Bank too? Helping fund projects in China? But Liberals seem to have a special love for Communist China.

I don't think so. Without America there would be no freedom. We would all be living under either Hitler or Communist rule. the wars in Korea and Vietnam were to try to fend off the expansion of Communism, especially the Korean war. Vietnam was more debatable and probably America should not have gone in there. They lost it and it would have been better to just let N. Vietnam take over S. Vietnam. But the thinking at the time may have been that the Communists were planning to take over southeast Asia if they were not stopped. Turned out they never went further than S. Vietnam. But that was probably because they had no navy and would not be able to cross the water to other southeast countries. But hindsight is always better than foresight. I still believe our freedom and democracy in the west with America leading the defense if far preferable to a Communist dictatorship with no freedom. Communist countries do not respect human rights or basic freedoms.

What is the matter with our government that they would allow such a thing to happen. They allowed Canada's Visa application centre to be run by police in China which handed it over to another company in China. Stunning news. What a disaster our government is in not protecting Canadians.

If there were no God, there would be no accountability for all the good and evil going on in the world. That wouldn't make sense. There has to be some reckoning or accountability for what humans are doing in the world. The Bible teaches us there will be judgment. That doesn't mean climate doesn't change. It does. But I doubt man is causing it. Better to adapt to climate change than to try to stop it. We can't stop it any more than we can stop the earth from revolving.

There is not likely to be a hot war between Russia/China and the west, at least not for the foreseeable future. The reason is would mean mutually-assured destruction (MAD). China's aim is to create a huge imperial empire which they control and this is what they are achieving, without annexing any country or land.

Why would China care if hostage-diplomacy works for them? When Turkey was holding an American pastor in prison, Trump told Turkey release him or there will be action. The question is does Biden have the fortitude to take concrete action and do the same thing? I doubt it. It's all hot air.

There has to be some form of justice in the world for crimes against humanity, just as there were war crime trials for the Naziis. Likewise there has to be trade sanctions for countries guilty of crimes against humanity. We will have to look elsewhere to trade.

It doesn't really matter who opened relations with China first. The problem as I've stated was Pierre Trudeau and following governments in Canada as well as other western countries cozied up to Communist China ever since. It is dealing with a diabiolical system which from the start murdered millions of their own people and always have denied their people human rights. What is the west think they're doing dealing with China? Obviously money and international trade always was all that mattered.

I doubt Trudeau was especially acting for Kissinger and Nixon. There was no love between Pierre Trudeau and Nixon. The book "The Truth about Trudeau" (Pierre Trudeau) has a lot of information about how Pierre Trudeau had a great interest in the USSR, China, and Communist Cuba, especially Fidel Castro. Trudeau traveled to China and was very interested in their country and system. He also traveled to Cuba and became close friends with Castro. Trudeau shunned our American allies and reduced the number of NATO troops in Europe. Trudeau was a kind of radical who seemed to operate outside the realm of western democracy. 1970 was also the middle of the Viet Nam war when America was fighting against the growth of Communism in Viet Nam.

The Communist system is already an enemy of America and western democracies. Pierre Trudeau cozied up with the CCP and Chairman Mao in 1970 and established diplomatic relations. The Uyghurs and people of Hong Kong don't need Xi to lose their rights and the Uyghurs being exterminated is happening now even with close trade ties. It is the Communist system which opposes human rights and is our adversary and was not recognized as such by Pierre Trudeau, and all politicians in Canada ever since. You can't sit down and deal with the Devil without expecting to lose in the end or you can't expect a fair outcome by trading and dealing with them. Liberals have thought all along that by dealing with them, the CCP would somehow change and become like the west. This was part of the deception westerners and liberals swallowed. There is a price to pay and it is now at the Cold War stage as China extends it's influence and control over western nations. The problem began in 1949 when China was taken over by Communist-Leninist and western liberals could not see the sinister implications for the future. This actually goes back to the 1800s when certain missionaries from Canada traveled to China and began their work there. Later in the 20th century some of them established some ties with leaders of the two main political movements and even their top leaders. A few of these missionaries were badly misguided and became friends with the Communist revolutionary leaders and actually morally supported them. This relationship seems to have continued after the revolution in 1949 and there was some connection with Canada's department of foreign affairs. This led to Canada trying to establish relations between Canada and the CCP. This finally happened when Canada became one of the first nations to establish diplomatic relations with the CCP in 1970 under the liberal leader Pierre Trudeau, who had a fascination with Communist dictatorships.

Appeasement never worked with Hitler and the Nazis and it won't work with Communist China and Russia. America and the west are in a new Cold War with the Alliance of Evil but many have not realized it yet. They play hardball. Trying to placate them won't work and may just encourage them to be more aggressive. The west, and Canada especially, is in an extremely difficult position but got itself into it by it's own choice. There are no easy solutions. We are in for a struggle for the long haul and it may not end well.

General Robert Maginnis describes in his book Alliance of Evil how the People's Republic of China and the Russian Federation are in alliance and represent the biggest challenge to America and it's western allies that the world has ever faced. Maginnes spent much of his life serving America in high military operations and pentagon military intelligence and has a vast knowledge of world affairs and the threats America and the west face. He took a bullet through his shoulder and managed to survive it. Took part in operations in the Panama with the removal of dictator Noriega, operations in the failed operation in Somalia, and various other operations. He worked in intelligence for top brass as well. He says America and the west are locked in a new cold war with Russia and China. Their aggressive behavior is evident in many ways throughout the west as they have infiltrated all aspects of society and collected vast amounts of information technology, including militarily, and embedded agents and influence throughout our political systems and every facet of society. Their goal is dominance. We can complain and protest as much as we wish, but this is not going to change the situation. They have global ambitions that we may not be able to stop.

Yep, and the Liberals and most politicians and a lot of business people in Canada have had a lot of dealing with China over the years, but it is now coming home to haunt them.

What about the one or two million Uighurs who are suffering rape, forced sterilization, forced abortion, abuse, and possibly death in concentration camps. They are trying to destroy a whole population. Does the world stay silent and do nothing? There are other minority religious groups that have suffered endless persecution, prison, etc. as well yet Canada went ahead and did all kinds of business with China for decades.
