  1. Its worthwhile that Kamau Bell is exposing it's continued existence in the US is my point.
  2. Make sure to keep that cash handy, the WTO will be giving it back to us a little later.
  3. Duterte couldn't have said it better. Hey I see he and Trump are buddies now.
  4. The adherents of the second largest religion on the planet would disagree with that thought.
  5. Then good for Trudeau. Between him and nieto they educated the Donald. At least a little.
  6. Yep we've all seen just how good Trump is at the "art of the deal" since taking office. Seems he may have taken a hit to the head.
  7. Apparently the courts disagree with you.
  8. I have worked in countries, in Africa for instance, that were much more poverty stricken than the US, but the racism was nowhere near as severe.
  9. I liked the joke that explained why the leader of the US didn't show at the correspondents dinner was because of the time difference between Washington and Moscow.
  10. Interesting as well as frightening this exposure of the prevalence of racism still going on in the US. http://www.avclub.com/article/idea-black-james-bond-horrifies-richard-spencer-w--254548
  11. Hey man, way back when I was a teenager I did some micro blue dot and I swear I was in exactly the same place.
  12. The major portion of the costs are born from the fact that there is a well founded fear of killing innocent people. Recall the people who were on death row when DNA proved their innocence? That's where the costs come from and could be reduced significantly by simply following Canada's lead. Of course I understand that you have per capita a lot more killers to deal with. So much for the deterrent value of the death penalty.
  13. Well the data I have researched shows he is "dead" wrong, (pardon the expression) but I hear you on the amnesia problem.
  14. Anything that proves your view wrong must be "tilted or flawed". I guess we've all heard that nonsensical approach a time or two. But go ahead and keep your vicious approach to justice, but hey hurry up, you are falling behind, you're number five behind China, Iran, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia.
  15. No, appointed by the people more often than not. I thought you of all people would know we have a democratic voting system here. BTW, speaking of liars, how's Trump doing?
  16. Naw, when we need something done we just get the PM to phone up Trump and set him straight.
  17. Dougt you'll ever win with that attitude in this country.
  18. I was only including the land that does belong to them.
  19. Boy you haven't done your homework on this one. Maybe too busy watching CBC for some real news.
  20. Arkansas is a state, one of a number in the US that maintain the death penalty. This thread is specifically about Arkansas hurrying to conclude their current list of pending executions because their drugs for lethal injection are expiring and drug companies who supply them have cut them off because that is not what their drugs were originally designed for, and they don't want their names attached to a barbarous activity such as state sanctioned murder. The costs would equally higher to execute someone in Canada as you have been shown they are in the US.
  21. Your problem seems to be you don't believe the facts that have been provided for you because they belie your stance.
  22. People are locked up to protect public safety, not to appease the wishes of the perpetrators, some of whom may well have a preference to be executed than face a lengthy jail term, but that's not up to them. I suggest many others would prefer to spend their time behind bars putting their efforts into working with the rehabilitation program, such as we at least try to do in Canada, so they can once again wake up and smell the daisies, or whatever flower they wish.
  23. Then it sounds like you simply try to say that people who differ with you are propagandists. However the info you have been provided is verifiable as to how inefficient the practice of state sanctioned murder is with regard to costs, effectiveness. You are a hell of a lot more likely to be murdered in the US than you are in Canada, and we haven't used the death penalty since 1961 I believe.
