I think the economy would get a much larger boost from affordable gas than from any tax revenue from monopolistic companies.

The economy is unlikely to get a boost, let alone from the use of natural gas.

You see that economic boost is harmful to the environment , hence harmful to the survival of life on Earth.

    I think capitalism is f*d.

They have “the right to the lands, territories and resources which they have traditionally owned, occupied or otherwise used or acquired … to own, use, develop and control.”

FNs are only 5% of the population;  yet they will have a veto on how the rest of the population of BC uses the land.

What difference does it make that they are only 5% ????

The Canadian Government can bring even more immigrants to wash this down to 1% or 0.5% and it still makes no difference.

If something is yours , it is yours, regardless how many people want to make use of it or take it from under your feet

Even after they kill someone, depending on who they are, they can continue doing what they have been doing.

There was a young rich guy in Ontario who I think wiped out a family - two grandparents and a kid or two.  He went to jail but from what I know has been released before serving more than 3 years.  Can't remember the name - think it sounded Italian but I may be wrong.

Here you go, the name was Marco Muzzo

OMG you're saying they have enough money to buy up houses and drive up prices yet are drains to the economy in the same breath, are you?

Whoever said that was right.  You have refugees and regular immigrants that will be a drain to the economy and then you have the business class that drive real estate prices up. You even had foreigners not living in Canada or having Canadian status driving prices up.

    What are you surprised at???

You live in the best country on Earth. Sounds like many of you were so spoiled by that you don't know it.

It used to be better, my ass.

If you were here all of your life and your parents were here before you and managed to create some wealth and managed to buy some property back in the day, you may now retire and live the life.

However a big percentage of Canada's population would be newcomers to Canada with 10 years or less in the country.   I have 20 and haven't prospered all that much either.

A newcomer is generally sold a small piece of s*t at a premium price and they line up to pay for it.   If not enough are in the line, they start bringing in the refugees, temporary workers and students.

This is the Trudeau Crown which is replacing the actual Royal Crown.  This is not a joke.  This is for real.

This is trading crosses and fleur-de-lis for maple leaves and a snowflake.

    Redesigned crown.jpg

I see, more snowflakes and maple leaves.

What about that lion?   Shouldn't it be replaced by a cougar, or at least a bear, moose, beaver, whatever...something more Canadian?

And how about our f-ing multiculturlizm?  Shouldn't our emblem incorporate elements from all cultures ??  A few Chinese letters, some Punjabi text,  a camel etc?

How about the First Nations?  Shouldn't we see indigenous art on the crown?

But does it need to be a crown at all?

Let's replace with a canoe, or an Eskimo tent of a homeless Canadian!

Already some displaced families that came to Canada are living in tents. And another 90,000 people are expected in the next 60 days

It will likely only get worse: the feds anticipate 90,000 newcomers from Ukraine will land in Canada in the next two months.

What can I say?  Hopefully they all die in some cataclysmic Canadian event, so the world sees we cannot take care ofthem and they stop coming.

Otherwise our messed up politicians will keep flying them in by the thousands.

Add to this our current population growth of 1 million a year, and yes our demands are going to grow not shrink by a lot...

OK, so now we came to this 1 mil/year population growth as a factor, or rather a driving force behind the need for nuclear power.

Now let me ask you this.

What exactly do you personally gain from the 1 mil of Asians added to the Canadian population every year?

I gain nothing!  My quality of life goes down by the minute!

Send them back and put the nuclear plants in their countries!  But when they were back there they did not need all this power!   You see how dumb we are now?????

Perhaps you can point out where i even mentioned Migrants...my post was about nuclear energy...pass the mushrooms...

    Your point is unclear.

First we need to determine if we need more energy or less.  If we want to have more, we have to know what is the driving force behind the increase.  Then if the increase is sustainable.

I for sure do not need a nuclear plant just so we can have our population go up to 300 million, or so we can frack to get more LNG to ship to Asia, even if you agreed to put it in your back yard!

The delicious thing is that the government itself (back in 2021) claimed to have already spent "more than $100B" in "clean growth"

And what did all that spending get us? I just happened to be researching that today. Here's the most recent data from the government's Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program:

    image.thumb.png.af6603617b102ae5da3fafdd3abf2317.png

...In other words, $100B (and whatever else they've spent since 2021) bought us MORE emissions!

And the lows in 2020-2021 are only due to to Covid

Are we in a climate crises or not ?...Can't be much of a crises if we have the option of picking and choosing what source of energy we are going to use...every source of energy we have right now has some drawbacks...By the time we pick one your right it will have been to late...Here is an idea, let's use what we have today, that includes nuclear ...and if something better comes along we will switch...

We choose to go with electrical vehs , then lithium batteries...and they are more destructive than nuclear energy becasue of the sheer number of them..., both in the mining process, and then the hazmat material itself and then the recycling process...all of it creates drawbacks.

Your take is wrong on many levels.

If it is our choice to bring a million low carbon emitting migrants every year to turn them into high carbon emitters, then we have to do it at no additional harm to the planet.

No way?  Then don't bring them here!

Stupidity, mental laziness and entitlement produces only disastrous failures. Something that this country does not have any clue how to deal with because it's political system is built on 100% entitlement and about 0%, accountability.

It is not stupidity; it is the inherent need for growth of a system based on greed and endless expansion.

You  would need to change the system before any meaningful gains could be made, but this also seems impossible, because countries around the world are still using this same system as a model.

As for the "mental illness", it has been fostered by the system over generations and this is the result.

    And now it's official.

The weiner is going to appeal it too, what a dick.

Makes no difference to anyone.  Those who invoked the emergency act and froze bank accounts are not going to be arrested, dragged through the mud or fined.

This is all some political posturing to show others the government upholds the law and that we have a democracy when we all know this is not the case.

Your post was useless and offered nothing but insults and didn't address the issue - you're literally the epitome of the mindless contrarian troll who shows up to vomit garbage whenever anyone points out trudeau is a complete turd.

His post was quite moderate and on the subject.

What you posted above, sadly describes your own posts.

I wonder why we do not have a moderator to mop up your p-ss

Too difficult to understand you gibberish. It might make more sense if i took the same drugs as you i suppose.

Well then you're just a tard. My condolences to your parents.

Well, blind bats see more than you do.

Keep your profanities to yourself, if there is nothing in the form of arguments you can bring up.

Interesting take on it.  I mean - he's not wrong.

How many?  If people lived ecologically minded lives in places where they belong - the answer would be ZERO.

Now bring one million Hindu to the Arctic and you can make a case for more fossil fuel extraction.

Where they came from, they were running barefoot in the mud with or without a shirt on, some rode a bicycle but most walked.  They did not need heating in the winter, or was it called the rainy season there?

Yeah, we've been building one scam upon another, but it will catch up with us (read them).
