  1. What if Peter McKay was asked "what is a gun?" and didn't respond?!?! Or if Flaherty was asked "what is supply and demand?" Omg think of the scandal we could manufacture!!!
  2. Have you guys ever watched question period? 90% of the answers completely ignore the original question. There are frequent rebuttle questions which the opposition ignores as well. One example is the PCs constantly calling out the NDP on their voting record. In this case I think it's safe to reason that Kent thought the question was rhetorical. But don't let that stop your witch hunt.
  3. They were protesting a general lack of yurts right?
  4. This might be a little simplistic, but what I think what it all boils down to is that people hate authority. The left wing hates "pigs" policing them, and corporations/managers/CEOs "exploiting" their labour. That's essentially what these protests are about (inequality of wealth arising from that "exploitation"). The right wing hates governments taking their money and spending it on things they don't want or need. But what the left wing doesn't realize is that the right wing also hates the authority the left hates. Do you think people on the right like their bosses or police telling them what to do? Hell no. Everyone wants to be the boss, or be their own boss. I work and save so that I can one day either be the boss of my company, or start my own company. The solution for the left seems to be acceptance of government authority as long as the government's goal is fairness and equality for all. For the left, this at least eliminates the exploitation of labour authority. The solution for the right is that money can buy freedom from authority. You save money and you can buy a home (no landlord). You save more money and you can start your own company (no boss). You save more money and you can avoid taxes/laws by becoming an "international" resident and hiring the best lawyers/accountants. Personally, I dislike the cops when they pull me over for a ticket, or tell me not to jaywalk. But I tolerate the cops because they protect my right to acquire that money to free myself from authority. I dislike my boss because he tells me what to do and I have to ask his permission to leave work for personal errands. But I tolerate him because he has the power to fire/promote me. IMO the left takes a strange approach to this universal problem. I choose the freedom to escape authority than acceptance of a "fair" government authority.
  5. You do realize that there are more productive things to do as a worker or student than blocking traffic and wasting taxpayer money on bureaucrats and courts deciding how to evict these communists/anarchists, right?
  6. Yup, a problem humans have faced since god, or a meteor with alien dna, or evolution from an amoeba put us on this planet: scarcity.
  7. Canada's unemployment rate was at a low of around 6% in 2007. Now it is around 7.3% (which is much lower than it has traditionally been anyways). http://www.tradingeconomics.com/canada/unemployment-rate "Just go get jobs!!!" is a valid response to the occupiers in Canada... not so much in the USA. In the USA, a valid response would be "just go look for jobs or make your own!!" These protesters would be much better off sending out resumes, interviewing, cold-calling or walking in on employers, or spending their time starting an online business than trying to change an economic system that isn't broken and that won't be changed due to some camping, slogan chanting, and light drug use.
  8. None of the world's problems are caused by economists. First of all, things were a lot worse economically prior to modern economics. People were much poorer and countries believed in invading to obtain scarce resources rather than trading. Secondly, any implementation of the suggestions of economists is bastardized by the influence of politics/nationalism.
  9. Predictable. Anyone with half a brain could deduce that these limitations to the freedom of assembly existed, no matter how many times lefties spouted off a list of fallacies as a response to any legitimate argument.
  10. The proof that you aren't in the 1% is because you never said you eat babies and hate humanity.
  11. You have an inflated sense of self because you claim to work twice as hard as your parents and therefore the government should seize the wealth of others to pay you some arbitrary amount that you think you're worth. Whining that your home and car insurance is too expensive... Sell your car and home and buy some shares of corporations and you'll get some of those profits too. You chose to buy a home and car instead. Too bad.
  12. Yeah how stupid of them to ask for the assistance of professional consultants in determining policy instead of simply watching a David Suzuki or Michael Moore documentary like the NDP!
  13. Who's denying their say? The students can vote.
  14. I struggled to get through the first paragraph of literary masturbation, but yes I did read it. hahahahaha Get over yourself Prof. Brown. Where does it say anything about throwing up blood or chemical burns? Even the most sensationalized letter from an English professor only says that people were coughing up blood. But if it's in a letter then it must be true!! Find me a pic or video of someone throwing up blood please. There's got to be at least 500 cameras there. http://www.davisenterprise.com/media-post/ucd-police-remove-occupy-uc-davis-tents/attachment/occupyucd162/ All I found was this poor protestor rubbing his watery eyes
  15. Haha I have to admit that's a good one. I see I struck a cord... don't worry it's not that hard to uncover first year philosophy students.
  16. Looks like it worked. They started dispersing without anything more than some watery eyes. One kid even jumped up and walked away before getting pepper sprayed. Revolution!!!!!
  17. Ad hominen!! That means I can cover my ears and say "la la la la la"! What two paragraphs? "Once again, absoulutely ridiculous argument. Not surprising coming from the left" is part of my "red herring and a strawman"? You're even worse than Shwa. Wow two paragraphs to call me an idiot? Most intelligent people can do it in one word.
  18. Nope. I admit arguing with a first year philosophy student (who thinks listing the latest fallacies he's learned constitutes an argument) is a waste of time. Good luck with your exam on truth tables!
  19. Because we're in a deficit and have a massive debt burden while other European countries are currently in a death spiral of socialist debt?
  20. Not a bad suggestion but we'd lose a lot more from reduced trade with the US.
  21. Everyone's equally miserable... the way the left likes it!
  22. Someone's taking 1st year philosophy!! Ahhh to be young and naive again!
  23. So if I don't fly to buffalo to pay an american doctor to take my temperature then I have no principles? Pathetic argument. Typical lefty nonsense.
  24. So if the lefties decided that everyone should be entitled to a free car and I was paying 90% tax so everyone could have their socialist supplied car, you would suggest I should burn my car, continue to pay 90% tax, and buy my own car? Once again, absoulutely ridiculous argument. Not surprising coming from the left.
  25. I've smoked, and I don't really care for this law... But hypothesizing about bob the accountant with 4 children having some plants in his backyard and being locked up is too much. I certainly don't think this law will affect too many people other than making them stop growing.
