Carter used the deception of human rights to be elected as US president and he had to pretend that he is following it so he put pressure on the Shah to release political prisoners (mostly Marxists and Islamic terrorists) and open up the political freedom in Iran. So the Shah had to open the cage and release the caged wild animals and then relax crack down on oppositions and hence the spark of the revolution which later destroyed Iran and set the whole middle east on fire giving rise to terrorist Islamism and black Taliban, Hamas, Hezbollah and Shiite Arab extremists

He sent his military advisor to Iran to force a transition of power from the Shah to Khomeini, resulted in the latter taking many Americans hostage in their own embassy for 444 days and taking the nation of Iran hostage for half a century. Many Iranians are jubilant to see his death. During weak presidency the Soviets invaded Afghanistan and parts of Africa and central America (Nicaragua) lost to Soviet backed regimes. He will be remembered by many as a weak failed president. Reagan was successful to undo some of his damage by bringing US out of recession and galvanize the fall of evil Soviet empire however, he was not able to bring down the evil Islamic empire in Iran. Hopefully Trump would do it and put an end to 4 disastrous years of Carter presidency for once and all.

As for Trudeau liberals, the policy is do nothing everybody knows that. We will see if he is going to detail as how he will handle issues like immigration, housing crisis and health. I am not sure this is entirely true. After living in Canada for several decades I know criticizing without offering an alternative solution is not the way to go. Remember thr famous RED book in 1993. We knew exactly what we were voting for.

This is not an invasion. This is an ELECTION. The way it works in democracies like Canada is that each party announces its platform as what they would do if they are elected to government and how they would tackle issues facing the country and then the nation listens to them and based on those platforms would decide whom to cast their votes for.

It is an unfortunate truth. The corrupt ignorant governments in Western countries in the past did not control immigration and opened the door to people of inferior cultures like refugees from Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and North Africa and mess up what was a democratic peaceful Europe and now the sleeping giant of nationalism which was put to sleep after WII is waken up. My hope is that the future government in Canada would address our immigration problems intelligently so that same fate does not follow our nation.

In Canada we also have massive provincial debts not reflected above as in UK for example there is only a central government no provinces governing or in US, State budgets are balanced by law. I wish it was true and Canada was so well off in comparison.

Government could hardly operate after his cuts.

In his reign some 50,000 government workers were laid off so that he looks good for bringing deficit down to near balance. Bill C-36 was pushed through Parliament in an undemocratic matter to satisfy HIS ideology without resolving the real issue. Nobody in his government dared to speak against him. He was voted out while he was having a majority government giving way to an opposition majority in its place. This was how dissatisfied Canadians were with his government in 2015. I for one campaign very hard against him in the fall of that year.

What does that mean exactly? HOW exactly he is going to tackle these issues? Immigration is a Federal matter and he want to penalize provinces who have no say in it? I see it as extreme when he threatens to fire government officials if they disagree with his vision. As much as I dislike Trudeau I will campaign against Poilievre in the next election based on this statement alone.

Yes I know having hidden agenda, lying to the nation about what they will do, not disclosing policies is your democracy. Ayatollah established your democracy in 1979 after stealing power with lies and deceptions too.

There has been MANY cases thar murders and sex offenders are freed either by stupid parole system or escaped and took more victims.
