I'm glad somebody here knows what they're talking about regarding the separatist attitude in Alberta. It's virtually non-existent. Any statement along the lines of "Albertans are whiners" is outlandishly exaggerated.

I cant see there being much argument (MUCH argument...) about this one. Duceppe is passionate and very dedicated. I think he's about as good a leader as the Bloc could hope to get. As for Jack, come on. He's taking over man! Taking over the polls at least. Not to mention to do that well after hip replacement and with prostate cancer. He's a machine! Props to Elizabeth May, she has integrity. Iggy seems like a nice guy, but a poor leader. Harper... I just dont like the Harper. Regardless of what party he represents.

My problem with corporations is that almost none of the ones in Canada are Canadian. Im open minded and if someone can tell me if its better to have non Canadian corporations running the show I'd like to hear it.

Even more so if you consider that separating wouldnt get us anymore money anyways. Canada already gets more or less 0% of our oil revenues. The province only gets 2% of the oil sands. The rest? Corporations. Anybody who talks about separating should think about what they want to separate from.

I haven't heard anything out of them. Nothing notable anyway. I think it might be a case of a few Albertans said something like, "Damn, I wish we didnt have to share oil revenues", followed by some people going "Omg! You whiney ingrates never shut up!".

Victims of what, anyway? Sharing oil revenue? Unemployment? Im in forestry, Albertas a big forestry province, and there sure arent any jobs available in that field in Alberta.

One thing I know is that its pretty much impossible to get into most of those countries. As a forester Id love to move to somewhere in Scandinavia for a while, but I cant...

Is anybody with me in that higher taxes isnt necessarily a bad thing, so long as we get something out of it? Scandinavian countries have some of the highest taxes in the world, but also some of the highest standards of living, quality of life and distribution of wealth.
