Whoever was running his campaign thought it was still the nasty nineties and they were writing for Mike Harris. The appeal to basest inhumanity doesn't fly anymore. He'll need new campaign leaders ... or a new wife. Though it pains me to say so ... the popular vote was a lot closer than the seat count, so I expect he'll stay around and maybe mature out of the stupidity ... or the stupid wife. She's a mean nasty bully and pathological liar. Hey ... given the difference between popular vote and seat count, maybe Hudak will become a supporter of proportionate representation ... if he ever has an original thought of his own, which I doubt.

Agreed. So how do we get Clement to expose Harper?
-
Clement might be a slimeball, but he's Harper's slimeball. He get stuck with all the slimy work and he sucks it up and that's his choice. He's a slimesucking wannabe. He'd suck sht from a pigeon if Harper told him to. Clement was parachuted into Parry Sound-Muskoka and he won by 28 votes. Then last year he distributed $50m for gazebos for the Muskoka G8 and won the next election by 14,647 votes. Those votes cost us taxpayers $3,400 for each vote. I hope Muskoka likes their gazebos. I wonder how Parry Sound feels about getting left off the gravy train! This is an issue that needs to be kept in mind, and I hope the NDP keeps pursuing it. This is exactly the kind of corruption Harper railed against in the Liberals. The sponsorship scandal, now embedded in Canadian memories as it should be, exposed $100m. Let's not kid ourselves that this is all about Clement: It's Harper, and he only has another $50m to go. Or is he teflon?

Geez and I thought that was a flying peeping tom!
-
Ask Harper. So ... all the perks are ok with you as long as you don't have to pay the taxes to support them ?
-
PC Donna Skelly lost to Liberal Ted McMeekin. Tim Hudak shot himself in the foot with his "foreigners" bomb. Bye bye Toronto! He should have aimed for his mouth!
-
??I must have missed that ...
-
Liberal win ... bets on majority/minority? Hudak was a dud. ;D
-
You're in law enforcement Derek ... you go find them. You're the one who resents paying taxes. And you are in the group who's going to be on the hook to pay more in the next round of tax increases dictated by the G20 elite because you can be sure it won't be them! They throw you to the dogs and you defend them.(?) I assume they must be paying you well, but they're laughing at you too.

The chickens roost on Wall Street. How true!
-
Yes, lots of room for camping. ;D
-
Ahhh ... but you see Wall Street rules the world doncha know?
-
I did. Now I'm comfortably retired. Now I can address big picture issues that threaten the futures of my grandchildren. As an activist along with many others, some Jews, a significant element has been protesting neo-nazis and other racists. You don't know doo-doo, Bob, because you are blinded by hate. Take a chill pill.
-
I see there is a neo nazi being shouted down and rejected by the protesters.
-
Yes that's the video I was referring to, where the protester also identifies himself as "a Jew". Put it to rest Bob, Shady. No one has made it about Jews except you. As for your weenie-peenie insults Bob ... I'm well educated, professionally accomplished, believe in entrepreneurship, retired, comfortable and I look pretty good 'for my age'. And I feel some pity, but mostly repulsed by toxic people who waste their lives in negativity and name-calling because that is truly a sad choice.
-
And what you "earn" is total income minus lawful taxes, and if you don't like the laws here, find a place with laws you like ... but don't expect much in government services. Instead, be prepared to pay a bundle for health care, private security, etc. And put up with roads full of potholes, aggressive panhandlers everywhere, etc.Or maybe not. Maybe you can find utopia. Either way, it's not likely that most Canadians will care too much. But if you want to live here, you pay lawful taxes for government funded/subsidized services OR you challenge the laws in court (and lose) OR waste your well-off life being a perpetual whiner. You make your own choices.
-
BS That didn't happen. But maybe you should check under your bed just in case someone really is out to get you.
-
I did. It's from statscan. You didn't read it and I'm not posting it for a third time for you to ignore. There was one video posted of an Orthodox Jew arguing with a protester, who also identified hinself as "a Jew". Is that what you're referring to?

Cite "many" ?

The intent of progressive proportionate (%) income tax in Canada is specifically that it should "affect" everyone equally. Thus if you are middle class, it might amount to (eg) foregoing one of your two family cheap camping/visiting holidays per year, while for the wealthy it might amount to foregoing 3 of your 6 expensive hotel/cruise holidays per year.
-
I understand that perfectly and that's why income data has to be discussed with reference to 'effective tax rates' as above. However, income levels don't necessarily reflect wealth accumulation and it isincreasing wealth accumulation among the wealthiEST one percent that demonstrates the increasing gap. Effective tax rates have to be investigated as a possible source of this top-heavy accumulation of wealth, since we know that the wealthiEST - are holding an INCREASING proportion of the wealth, and - have access to the power to lower their own effective tax rates by controlling lawmakers, laws and law enforcement.
-
Ever heard the saying "Wall Street rules the world."?Well the chickens are coming home to roost.
-
We've already been around that bush.Income from earnings is taxed 'the first time around'. Income from investment of earnings is taxed as it is new income. Your reliance on this ludicrous 'first time around' argument betrays the fact that you have no point to make.
-
Red herring. Cybercoma wasn't talking about percent of population but proportion of world wealth in North America. And he's right that North Americans collectively are wealthier than the rest of the world ... but not all of us. The wealth is disproportionately held by the wealthiEST 1% in North America and worldwide.

They're always around, giving the orders. It was a 'white shirt' who pepper sprayed the compliant and fenced-in women at point blank range, while 'blue shirts' stood dumbfounded and disgusted by his actions. I think the quote from a 'blue shirt' officer was "I can't believe he just walked up and fucking sprayed them!" That particular 'white shirt' is still 'under investigation' (ya right!) For a previous action during a 2004 protest.
