Canada has responsibility to NORAD and must fulfill it's obligations to the defence of N American airspace. The Super Hornet is already outdated. I don't know which is best but I'd like one of the 5th gen aircraft. We must keep pace with the world.

If they get the most votes they will gain the most seats. Our system works great. If I lived on the Island I would vote Green. I have family out there in Nanaimo and Victoria.

No. Not directly. It's just embarrassing to have such crappy planes. Third world countries have better jets. We're flying clunkers that are past the due date.If the US wasn't our neighbor and close friend and before that the UK we'd have been attacked long ago. Probably by Russia. Which leads me to think that Russia may try to put an oil rig in our arctic seas. But do I think Canada will be outright attacked or invaded? No. Terrorist attacked yes and soon but as far as a foreign nation invading Canada. I just don't see it happening as long as the US is our friend.

The Torys are simply making cuts to save money. Not because they hate data. They hate waste. If we can streamline our operations then it should be done. No one should be in favor of government waste. We need to save costs if we can. By saving money we can then ensure more money gets to the people who are in need of it instead of supporting government bureaucracy.

2025? Omg I may well be a senior citizen by the time this is replaced. The f18 is an ancient plane. We cannot afford to sit around and do nothing. The planes will be falling out if the sky by then. We need a replacement today not 10 years from now. Thus smells like another Sea King.
