"You can't trust government" what a shocker that is. This is a sad day for all Canadains and a wakeup call for those who believe corps. have our interest at heart . So who is to blame.....Harper...BC Liberals ? The answer is all of the above along with the people who voted for these lying forms of humans. They all have stood in front of us all and lied again and again and again . The Harper government has gutted enviromental regs in the guise of streamlining for the "greater good of us all" The liberals here have followed suit and further gutted the regulatory system all under the words of saving us money and creating jobs. Then there are the idiots who can't read and believe everything they are told by these so called Canadians. So there is plenty of blame to go around but the really sad part is that we the taxpayer will pay for this mess which will cost over a billion to cleanup and even then we have lost forever a part of our country. I flew here to Williams Lake yesterday and we toured the site shortly after we arrived. I know quite a few of the miners who work there and in early July they lost containment of the tailings , both feds and provincial were informed and here we are today looking at liars and a disaster which is horribly shameful for Canada especially with all the lies about how good we are to the rest of the world. Now here is what will happen , the morons who represent us will show fire and passion about this for 2 months then it will slowly die down , the company will either sell there other property and go out of business or claim bankruptcy leaving us with the bill and the CEO and Board of Directors go home with all the cash....this has happened before just not on this scale. Remember there is an election coming so tough words with no action is coming . So to recap we kill the lake and river , say lots of wonderful words , do nothing and at election time tell everyone how tough they were and how much they love OUR country and all without doing a thing or costing them personally any cash. We should all be ashamed this is not what Canada is supposed to stand for but yet...here we are.

You have undisputible proof of this from exhaustive research into the region I am guessing by your statement. As I said earlier , Russia use's the USA to justify what they are doing. It is always "well look at what the US did so what we do is the same and that makes it correct". Short sighted ignorance is what that is called. Most people buy into it because it is easy and does not take much effort to say or write. Has the USA done bad things , yes they have and it is all over there news , now tune into Russian media and listen . Hard to describe my frustration after living there and coming back here to listen to people who would rather talk alot about things they have no idea about but still try to pass as the expert on the area. Russia is not the USA and is closer to the former USSR . Now before replying please have some real facts to backup theories or accusations. This is going to effect us all in the very close future and I guarentee that if something is not done now to settle the war we will not like the results.

Bravo.....I would almost be convinced that you understood what was happening until you stated your thoughts on what you think is happening there. You really need to understand what Putin stands for and he has been controlling for quite sometime now. Just ask the family of reporters who have died in Russia over the last 10 years and tell them how "FAIR" Putin is. He controls the media and the internet is almost closed . Again please read and understand before making uneducated comments about a serious situation that is heading for a prime conflict.

I worked in Perm and in the Donetsk , Lugansk region for a few years and we still have an apartment in Kiev along with many friends and relatives still there. My wife is from there and has been here for 4 years. We get our information from them not the news here.

Well sir we just rented out our apartment in Kyiv to a family from Lugansk. They were driven from the city by Russians pretending to be Ukrainian seperatists , no big surprise there or at least it should not be to anyone. They have 2 children who are 5 and 9 , there Uncle was killed by the Russians pretending to be Ukrainian . Lots of stories like this . Russia is a third world country dressed as a 9 , no infrastructure , criminals in power and lots of money. Most in Russia do not get to hear of what really happens as they are censored "HEAVILY". The one thing they rely on is that they use the USA as an example to do what they are doing ,justify , yes we kill lots of civillians but look at what the US does. Putin is a modern day Stalin and as in past history the only thing being done is harsh language is being exchanged. Here in Canada we still allow high level and rich Russians in even after Harper spoke so strongly against Putin so what is the cost to Russia for invading ? This is the start of a long conflict there and if it is not dealt with we will be drawn into another cold war with higher stakes.,

Just joined and my first post. Now having worked in Russia for 2 years and , yes I lived there the whole 2 years , what is in plain sight and all around you is the fact that you hear only what they want you to hear from the rest of the world. They have no infrastruture as we have and the poor people and poor cities and poor towns are everywhere along with an overdose of corruption just to make sure nothing progresses . Now Putin can spout off whatever he likes but it changes nothing. The nice little man and former KGB trainer has also been working to change history in Russia , Stalin was not bad just misunderstood , that comes from the point that Russia deserves to be proud of the past just like everyone else. Now I could go on and on but I think everyone should get the point. Putin is a very dangerous person with a huge arsenal at his disposal who will , by force, take back what was the former USSR and he made this no secret so the little man can say what he likes but that does not change the fact that it is still wrong.
