Waiting for the Trudeau Jnr 40 billion deficit
alexmac replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Also strange that this was the only part you chose to quote and take the light off of the rest of the statement . Right now here in this country we have a very big problem and that is nothing has changed. We have the party flag waving , wonderful one liners but nothing that is based in what is actually happening. Claimed solar business , well sir you seem to believe what the PM says so take me at my word . I did not like Harper and I see no difference as of yet between him and JT other than a smile and fuzzy general statements so please enlighten us with your knowledge of facts on the budget . I for one am just waiting to hear this and yes I did bring my snow shovel. -

Canada and I said read the budget not post it and then point out what promise they kept if you can find it other than another tax , yes a tax will change the planet , acording to the liberals. -
Waiting for the Trudeau Jnr 40 billion deficit
alexmac replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Okay I have been warned to be respectful to our PM and not call him junior. Having said that I must point out that as a business owner we do not support any party. We are in the solar business which will not get any help but our taxes will increase now before any Liberal flies off please read the budget as I would hate to embarrass in front of everyone. The environmental plan they came out with is a joke. Yes they have only been in power for 6 months but unless you were extremely ignorant you would already know the problems and I will point to their platform during the election and what they were saying in Paris which amounted to nothing in my opinion. A close look at this budget and you will see there is nothing here other than a tax on carbon period. That tax will go into general revenue then , like the cash cow EI , it will be spent on helping various party contributors just like they did in past years. Action is change not warm, fuzzy and very general words. We are still waiting for a reply from our MP as well as the Minister of Environment for the last 2 months in which we asked for an explanation on the green technology position , not tough or hard but we need clarity as to what is planned so we can prepare and inform customers on changes , if any. Silence. Even the Conservatives answered our letters , not saying we agreed with them but at least they wrote back. Right now we are at a tipping point and whether you believe climate change or not there is a change coming just the very sad part is that it will not be coming from our federal government who has chosen to lead from behind. -
Well now what have our little buddies the Liberals been up to ? Hmmm interesting , change the climate by taxation , maybe that was a typo and they will do something other than tax us , maybe kind of we will see. Okay what did they do with the requests from homeowners to get rebates on solar and wind installations ? Ah ha.....hhmmm , well maybe they will do that in the next election so they look good. Wow we do get to give our carbon tax dollars to help other countries go green....guess it takes a ton of money to increase a tax in them countries. Okay so moving on th Ei and what do we see .....I will be dammed ...if it was another time I would have thought PET was standing right there taking the money from the Unemployment fund-aka-EI-aka-cash cow. Well I have to say it is very refreshing to see Junior run the country just like an old pro lining his and all his buddies pockets all the way to the bank. Why , because he can and 39.6% of the elite people in Canada voted for him giving them a RESOUNDING majority....welcome to Canada.

Waiting for the Trudeau Jnr 40 billion deficit
alexmac replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
There are no surprises in any of this. We get lied to we vote out a government and then...get lied to. Our company , as of March 1 , has suspended plans to hire 10 people here because of what we see as a major disaster for Canada about to hit economically. We will fulfill our current obligations but will not carry on with planned expansions for 2016-2017 . This decision was made because of federal government policies that are making it impossible to have any kind of competitive level while maintaining a sustainable growth and profitability in our market as it stands today. We for see the establishment of a carbon tax as a stagnant tax with no outlook on what should actually be taking place. To put a tax in front of any other plan is just a simple money grab which will make no difference other than to increase general revenue coffers and make most feel like they are doing something green. Spending with no constraint is a formula for a major disaster and no budgets do not balance themselves. -
Proportional Representation Discussion
alexmac replied to Michael Hardner's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
You will see a big push for a preferential ballot by the Liberals. They promised this change in the first 18 months of their term in government. Just stating what they said with no expectations on either. Our view is that preferential is no better than FPTP and it is to confusing for most voters. -
Harper's Tough Talk on Defense and Russia is just empty words
alexmac replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I did back it up , I called him a thief and that he is a liar and is going to go down in Canadian history as the worst leader yet. In the house of commons they may have to use the word "honorable" but respect is earned not bestowed , I do not respect the man or the party. When I last checked this was a free country and freedom of speech was still valid or are you trying to change that. Oh you may want to read the changes they made in the last budget with all the add ons....you might be interested to see how many freedoms we are about to lose and that my young friend is up to you to read as I already have. Also read the members statements from the past 7 months then you will understand why I am saying all this. Also you assumed wrong the letter was cautioning them on starting a free trade deal with Ukraine...check out the date. -

Argus buddy I am afraid you will have to figure out those questions on your own bro. As far as ranting...well if the truth hurts then maybe you should check out why and not follow blindly. I write to the people we hired in Ottawa as they work for us but as I see many just bend over the table and say I like it and that is something I will never do. -
Harper's Tough Talk on Defense and Russia is just empty words

Here is what I received in response to the free trade deal I mentioned and this is from John Baird ----- Forwarded Message ----- From: "[email protected]" <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Cc: [email protected] Sent: Wednesday, May 16, 2012 2:48 PM Subject: A18233-2011 In reply to your email regarding the situation in Ukraine. Mr. Mark and Mrs. Elena Timm [email protected] c.c. [email protected] Dear Mr. and Mrs. Timm: The Office of Prime Minister Stephen Harper has forwarded to me your email on December 15, 2011, regarding the situation in Ukraine. I regret the delay in replying to you. The Government of Canada has voiced its concerns about deteriorating democratic conditions in Ukraine on numerous occasions. In September 2011, Prime Minister Harper and I wrote to President Yanukovych urging him to stand firm on Ukraine's commitments to democracy and human rights. Furthermore, I made clear in my statements of August 6 and October 11, 2011, that Canada is troubled by the apparent political bias in the trial and conviction of former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko. I reiterated this position during question period in the House of Commons on November 25 and 30, 2011, as well as in an official statement following the decision on December 23, 2011, of the Kyiv Court of Appeals to uphold Ms. Tymoshenko's conviction. Should you wish to view my statements, I invite you to visit the website of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada at these following addresses: http://www.international.gc.ca/media/aff/news-communiques/2011/224.aspx?lang=eng&view=d, http://www.international.gc.ca/media/aff/news-communiques/2011/296.aspx?view=d, and http://www.international.gc.ca/media/aff/news-communiques/2011/391.aspx?lang=eng&view=d. Regarding investment in Ukraine, Canada believes that engagement rather than isolation is the best way to support continued positive change in Ukraine. Free trade agreements open new markets, increase international trade and investment and create opportunities for businesses, which helps to foster economic growth and prosperity. Economic prosperity, in turn, can help to promote democratic institutions and foster greater respect for human rights. Be assured that Canada will continue to raise its concerns about human rights, democracy, and the rule of law in Ukraine. Canada is a strong supporter of a free and independent Ukraine and remains engaged in assisting Ukrainians in achieving their goal of a prosperous and democratic society. Thank you for taking the time to write. Sincerely, John Baird, P.C., M.P. Minister of Foreign Affairs -
Harper's Tough Talk on Defense and Russia is just empty words
alexmac replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Ok this once I will explain "out of context" means you use only what you want to use to make an unbalanced comment rather than quoting the whole text. Also rhetoric is what our PM does and by blindly supporting that does not make you or anyone else right , but then again it would seem that the country is full of people who believe what this government tells them....BLINDLY...with no grounds or facts and that is dangerous. I lived there in Ukraine and Russia , we have our daughter and grand children there who we are trying to get here to keep them safe. Now if you listen to the loud mouth Harper you would think that Canada would help , now reality they have done nothing but talk and the only way we can get them out is with the help of the USA so they will go there. 4 years ago this government was negotiating a trade deal with the criminal Yanukonvict in hopes that by sending money to the crooks there that they would see the light and change...sounds like Chamberlain when he came back from talking with Hitler. So when I talk it is from experience and knowledge and if that does not fit into your realm well to bad but please learn and read before replying again it would go a long ways to knowing what is actually going on. -

Very good , no I will not be voting for the moron . Only one I have heard and seen that makes sense is Elizabeth May but I am not a Green Party supporter ..If everyone reads and not draw party lines I am sure you will find we as the common folk only have a government friend every 4 years then we get pee'd on until the next time they come to us . Seems that most who vote like to be bent over the kitchen table and actually defend the right to be screwed. -

Harper's Tough Talk on Defense and Russia is just empty words
alexmac replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I do not support any party as they are all crooks and Harper will go down in history as the biggest so far. Only thing I hear is "well look at what the Liberals did" . So because the liberals robbed the country that gives Harper the right to rape the rest of Canada. Harper is out of his league and is a liar and embarrassment to all here in our country. As far as how he has dealt with Russia is just one example....sanctions yup great except he forgot Putins right hand guys who have invested millions here and those companies have made contributions to the conservative party and before you reply check your data . Baird is an embarrassment Alexander is on the same level and the list goes on. This is not a hockey game and the only losers for incompetent people like Harper is us the people who pay for this moron. Check out his pay and what his pension will be , he is supposed to be working for us not the other way around and the way he is handling things Russia will be at our door step and I mean inside the 200 mile limit , then what more harsh and empty words. -
No . They signed a treaty with Russia and the USA a few years back(not sure of the date but Yeltsin was President then) and with that treaty Russia promised not to invade and the USA promised to protect Ukraine. Canada endorsed this treaty. Yes Obama is an empty suit and then looking to Ottawa we have Harper that is also talking a lot and doing nothing which includes sanctions against high profile Russians who have millions invested right here in Canada and who have made donations to the conservative party . As for gas in Ukraine check out Regal Petroleum from the UK. who built 2 rigs and were drilling in the Donetsk Basin and the rigs were going 12,000+ feet .I drilled on rig 1 for a time and was over there in 2006 to look at the feasibility of drilling there. As I said before my wife is from Ukraine and our daughter and grand children are still there trying to immigrate here which is proving to be another conservative issue of talking lots and doing nothing Russia is not an advanced country unless you are in the Moscow area , they have no road system in the country as we have and the rail system is archaic at best and most people are well trained from the communist days so Putin filled in quite well with that model of government. They invaded Georgia the same way . So the question is should we as Canadians care what Russia does ? Well lets look at past world history which tends to repeat itself. They took Crimea and are pushing into Eastern Ukraine , Invaded Georgia and took parts of that country so will they stop in Eastern Ukraine ? The answer lies in Putins own words for those who have cared to read or have payed attention the past 12 years. Also the arctic oil and gas issue is dead ahead so we are giving Russia the go ahead to move on in as strong language is not going to stop them . Be prepared to have them at our door step drilling and believe me when I say they are not the best with what they do but I am sure when an incident happens they will say it was not them or that they are sorry and keep going....sucks to be us , but our hired hands in Ottawa will issue a strong warning and we will cheer and say boy they told them as we pay for the cleanup and then live in the mess they made. Point is that when you make a choice be prepared to live with ALL the consequences and right now by playing the big dog with nothing but words is not the way to go and sitting on both sides will not go well for us in later years....just something to think about.

Good to see that y'all are taking an open approach to all the news and I will point out one thing ....Putin owns the media in Russia...all of it. Here our news is driven by the public who have a 30 second attention span then get bored and move on...our media reflects that. Our government...a lot I could say but this time I will be civil...Harper and party have no idea what to do other than talk lot's and do nothing. Tried 4 years ago to ask why we were starting a free trade agreement with Ukraine ...answer to show them that democracy works and it can be done anywhere ....Harpers words not mine. I worked in the Donetsk Lugansk area and know many people there as well as having relatives in Kiev which is where my wife is from. Now most of our friends have left to Kiev since the fighting started and also many of their friends. They speak fluent Russian and Dimitri served 3 years in Afghanistan with the Russian army , now he is from Lugansk and he is saying that most rebels including some of the leaders are Russian Special Forces. His words...he lives there and understands military and he is not real happy with Russia right now and I am being polite when I say it this way if you talk with him about this he will not be so polite. So where do we go from here , do we ignore this or just spectate and talk like it is a sporting event ? My last word is that 3 Russians who have major investments in Canada are not on the Sanction list and 2 have made political contributions to the Conservative Party of Canada through the companies they invested millions in , so do some homework and keep questioning for to be able to change things we first need to understand what is going on.

Think you better read the regs again because the Feds have the final say and control for all of Canada which was gutted by the MORON PC's , but that is not to say that the liberals were not at fault....If everyone reads and not draw party lines I am sure you will find we as the common folk only have a government friend every 4 years then we get pee'd on until the next time they come to us . Seems that most who vote like to be bent over the kitchen table and actually defend the right to be screwed. -

You might try reading on who donates to which parties then come back and edit what you wrote. Also try reading on enviromental regulations and crown land , I believe you might be surprised . Then there is also good reading in past cleanups from mine companies who went bankrupt and left us CANADIAN TAXPAYERS with the bill that is not very provincial at all. -
Big Guy where do you get your information from ? This just in "War in Ukraine" Ukraine freedom fighters in Donetsk are facing tough opposition from the Ukraine Army . But with the weapons factories in Lugansk area running at full capacity along with many millions of volenteers they will prevail over the Ukrainian invaders. Russia having taken a peaceful role in the conflict has repeated pleas of restraint for the greater good and will not send military aid to the region. They have further closed the border to people fleeing the war. President Putin will be sending a peace envoy to the area in conjunction with the UN peace accord to bring the hostilities to an end in the area. Putin has also called on Canada to do more to stabalize the region rather than sell arms to the Ukrainian government which was illegally replaced in a Canadain sponsored coupp over throwing Yanuconvict who is in Russia under guard for fear of North American murder attempts. Putin is pushing for all world leaders to follow his example of constraint and honesty. This is what is in Russian media in Moscow and you are telling us you beleive that?

Nice fantasy and how would you propose to implement this , remember the oilsands in Alberta are considered mining and I am pretty sure Harper will not want to upset those rich folks that support the Conservatives with big cash.
