  1. No it doesn't......I just cited the 1st Amendment for you.
  2. What of them? Of course they publicly disowned them, Lionel Hutz would have done as much for them on their way to a Federal Pen........again, from what the Bundy's say, they are still in contact with the Hammond family and have found evidence that they feel will secure their release from prison.
  3. They petitioned the courts........no response. And now, they are stating they have found additional evidence from within Government files at the refuge offices, including information they believe will secure the release of the Hammonds. If true, this could have a far more reaching impact then Snowden, fore you can guarantee, all other BLM holdings and leases in the Western States will be challenged, either in court or with additional protests...........over an area of land larger than Western Europe and worth billions, upon billions of dollars.
  4. I have no intention of repainting the goal lines.
  5. In this example in Oregon, no, I don't. Why would they leave their guns at home? They have a Right to them. The only "coercing" is on the part of the US Federal Government, which is directly in conflict with Article 1, Section 8, clause 17 of the US Constitution: When did the State of Oregon cede control over the land, that became the refuge, to the US Federal Government?
  6. Exactly, and more so in this case, Rights enshrined in the 1st Amendment: The Bundy's have stated they petitioned the Federal Government numerous times, to numerous agencies, several months ago......with no response.
  7. Canadians, unlike Americans, don't have enshrined Rights to Property..... I don't know that these protesters in Oregon have pointed firearms at anyone.....none the less, Americans have enshrined rights to firearms.
  8. I doubt ever. The Bundy's have stated Federal Law Enforcement has made it known to them they have no intention of entering the refuge.
  9. I understand it quite fine, in this case, these protesters concerns are born out of the fact that the United States Federal Government owns ~1/3 rd of all the land in the 50 States, of that, owning 50% of the land in the Western States (about the same total area as Germany, France and Spain combined)......even though the US Constitution never intend the Federal Government to own land, outside of land voted on by local peoples and sold by the States to the Federal Government for military bases.......hence the Federal Government is acting in bad faith outside of the Constitution........and is why several of the GOP contenders (Rubio, Cruz and Paul) have called for Federal land divestment, returning control to State and local Government as it was intended in the US Constitution. Ah American, where the people have a lawful right to protest and make known grievances to the Government for redress......its too bad the Federal Government is breaking the law......
  10. Indeed, further to that, it would be very interesting if they now actually have evidence supporting their claims..........
  11. I'm not expressing my issues, but discussing the concerns of these protesters. As to Black people, they have expressed their concerns with Government in the same manner in the past.
  12. Why is that? This group in Oregon has longstanding grievances over land usage and resources allocation, both issues that are growing concerns around the World (and could one day lead to the next World War). Despite the dog and pony show these several dozen protesters have brought forth, in less than two weeks, they have had discussions over their concerns with legislators from several Western States at the refuge and received mention from Federal legislators in Washington and Presidential hopefuls.............it would seem their methods are more effective at starting a national conversation over their issue then the tens of thousands of Occupy protesters that spent months camped out in city parks. To tie this into the American Revolution, the lack of representative dialogue over issues is what led to the revolution (and a civil war a century later). Doing this, if it results in what the protesters feel is positive action, could be the peaceful release value now instead of another armed and violent conflict in the decades ahead........when due to further globalization and increasing populations straining the World's resources, as member Eyeball has so rightfully put it in the past, the animals start circling the water hole. Though I might not agree entirely with their methods, or even all of their concerns, I will give it to them, they are attempting to stand by their convictions with the possibility of losing their lives, or more likely, their personal freedom for a very long time.......a might bit more skin in the game then other protesters that achieve far less, with far more.
  13. You understand how the United States was created right? A small group of people, some say around 3% (probably more) of the population sought the removal of laws and taxes imposed on them by others....through the use of force. I think most reasonable people think the creation of the United States did more good than bad for civilization.
  14. An interesting op-ed from Ron Paul, in which he makes several good point over the current stand-off: I wonder how many on the "left" would be supportive of the Hammonds if they were minorities? Inversely, how many on the "right" that currently support the Hammonds would care if they were minorities or native Americans? Furthermore, to those who feel the Federal Government should go in guns blazing: I think Paul speaks here clearly to the folly of assigning people to the "right" or the "left", when clearly that forgets ones social values on personal liberty, "up" and "down".... A point I'm in full agreement on, and is why I feel the US Federal response has been muted on this current protest......simply put, the FBI could clean these two dozen guys clocks, but in doing so, would create two dozen martyrs......
  15. I think I have a weekend of Star Wars watching ahead of me
  16. I remember that, but couldn't the Empire have just done what the Nazis did in the Czech republic with the Skoda works......move and/or replicate the cloning facilities elsewhere? For sure, Episode 2-7 must span a good 50-60 Earth years. Like I said above, the Empire could have just created additional cloning facilities, I think that only prudent.......I would think if they could build a planet size "starkiller base", they had enough resources to continue cloning.......Maybe Finn is just a new model clone based off a small child abducted???? I remember that, I'd always assumed (since the second trilogy) the Empire had its primary clone army made of the various Storm Troopers, flushed out by enlisted humans in more technical roles: And led by a proper Officer Corps: I'd assume Luke was trying to get into one of these career paths.
  17. Poor construction/design and cold weather........and I thought they screwed up the new Port Mann.
  18. Thought I'd post this here, as opposed to Politics (which this will touch upon): If this is closed for a while, I'm wondering what type of hit this will have on the economy? It goes on to mention: I'm wondering if they mean a barge ferry?? A train shuttling transport trucks??? None the less, this effectively cuts Canada into two for road traffic, and no doubt with have an impact on goods shipped by truck, that will have to cross the border twice.......I wonder if money will be forthcoming from the Federal Government.........
  19. Looking at Vancouver, I can think of more things the city requires that aren't produced locally, then what is produced within the lower mainland............if you closed off trucks/trains/aircraft/shipping to Vancouver it would come to a crashing halt inside a week. In the Star Wars Universe, we can see why the Republic responded as they did with the Trade Federation......... Sure, why not? A small explosive placed in the reactor, munitions storage, fuel storage etc........The real question would be if they were able to lead a small commando force inside to do it.
  20. I stand to be corrected, but I doubt Vancouver or Toronto find all their requirements within "driving distance"......... Ok, and without his knowledge, the Rebels wouldn't have been able to destroy the base.......
  21. Cities aren't self-sufficient on Earth, so its not a stretch to assume a city size planet wouldn't be either. I don't remember him mentioning it.
  22. No, that is the maintenance of law and order in our society through the use of force if required.
  23. Interrupt Parliament or force your way into Trudeau's office..........
  24. Why? If in this universe planets are the new cities. I thought most were clones.
  25. Is that the case though? I seem to remember the capital, Coursant sp?, being an entire planet transformed into one massive city. How many sailors leave the navy to join the enemy?
