  1. Christie held the role for months, well Pence was bouncing around 3-4 different States a day.........Christie, along with Gingrich and Carson are now vice chairs of the committee.....hardly a demotion, more so giving the top position to Trump's number two, who's now free from campaigning and fundraising.
  2. Why? I would be surprised if she isn't.
  3. Nah......but as press secretary would be hilarious.
  4. No there isn't........
  5. versus: Not every "minority" group......polygamous marriages (to young teen women) or those that screw animals for instance......both not very popular, and not protected. There are zero restrictions on moving out of State if its laws and bylaws are so egregious..........the United States isn't a Confederation..... trampling of States rights can result in bad things.
  6. I have no doubt some sort of "Religious Freedom" bill will be passed, I just don't see any major legislation curtailing gay rights or abortion.......at the very least, not unless Trump is able to install four socially conservative judges on the Supreme Court. And the counter argument to that is why are the major religions allowed to continue with their beliefs that could be described as discrimination against gays, adulterers and those that worship false idols? I'd quit my job..... (And I did in the 90s over a proposed posting to Quebec) Its not likely until such a time as there are a majority of social conservative judges on the Supreme court......a two term Trump might get to select four judges, I doubt 5 or 6. The Federal government shouldn't, and I doubt will, be a vessel to fund such groups going forward......if Texas has a spike in bastard children or Indiana an increase in HIV, those should be States issues to fund, if not at the county level.
  7. I was thinking more along the lines of knowing all the senior lawmakers and lobbyists, and perhaps even knowing where a few skeletons are buried.......not so much grab-ass.
  8. Oh I agree, again though, that would only seem to apply to a conventional President. From the onset though Trump has said he will look for the "right kind of experienced people" to help and advise him........I think that translates more so into State's Governors, but some like Gingrich and a handful of Senators and Congressmen will be needed if only to know how the mechanics of Washington work.
  9. What makes Christie, or any of the other proposed Cabinet officials, incompetent?
  10. Again, I think you're swallowing too much of the fear mongering put forward by Clinton and the DNC, and media ......I just don't see a anti-gay social conservative crusade coming out of a Trump White House. Like what? Religious bakers not under threat of legal action for refusing to cater gay weddings? 47 year old men no longer being able to transform and identify as 8 year old girls to access washrooms? This is a populace President........if Americans want such rights, they'll have them, if not, these very small minority groups will be shit out of luck. It could happen.......I think more likely the defunding of Planned Parenthood, none the less, if such issues revert back to States, I think that is a good thing...
  11. Simple........loyalty......Christie torpedoed Rubio during the primaries, in true Kamikaze fashion, and was one of the first also rans to endorse Trump....bridge gate, outside of Democratic New Jersey, just isn't an issue.........and if Trump stuffs him in one of the lesser cabinet positions, who really would care?
  12. Exactly, as I said earlier, the blame can be put squarely on both party's establishments......for them, this was suppose to be Bush vs Clinton.....
  13. Bill O'Reilly had Giuliani on tonight and suggested, jokingly, exactly the same thing......conventional wisdom would suggest Trump dump Christie.....and that is why I think Trump won't dump him, but put him into cabinet...
  14. Bolton, to me, only seems natural.......Newt should be given back the public purse strings, he did yeoman's work as Speaker.........Conway, I agree, if she doesn't go to the White House, I pick Sean Hannity as my second choice.....then Conway to FNC It's not a Trump cabinet though without Palin..........
  15. I did not know that....scratch Trump jr
  16. Straightforward topic, who will Trump tap to help make America Great Again? My picks: Secretary of State - John Bolton Secretary of the Treasury - Speaker Newt Gingrich Secretary of Defense- Sen. Jeff Sessions Attorney General- Mayor Rudy Giuliani Secretary of the Interior- Gov. Sarah Palin Secretary of Agriculture- Gov Ric Perry Secretary of Commerce- Gov. Chris Christie Secretary of Labor- ??? Secretary of Health and Human services- Dr Ben Carson Secretary of Housing and Urban development- Gov Jan Brewer Secretary of Transportation- Donald Trump jr Secretary of Energy- Sen. Bob Corker Secretary of Education- ??? Secretary of Veterans Affairs- Gov. Mike Huckabee Secretary of Homeland Defense- Stephen Hadley White House Chief of Staff- Renice Priebus National Security Adviser- Retired Lt General Mike Flynn White House Press Secretary- Kellyanne Conway
  17. Exactly, anyone thats says otherwise doesn't watch FOX....
  18. I agree.......minus FOX. FOX is the only network that gave both sides the same treatment.......for others to suggest FOX (wholesale) was in the bag for Trump is laughable, they (namely Bill O'Reilly, Chris Wallace, Dana Perino, Brent Humme, Charles Krauthammer and of course, Megyn Kelly) were very tough on Trump, Trump complained numerous times about FOX interviewers and hosts) Trump is his own worse enemy, but the mainstream media, aside from being proven to sandbag Sanders, without a doubt was unfair to Trump
  19. Clearly you don't watch FOX.......aside from Hannity and a handful of commentators, FOX treated both sides objectively
  20. He'll defend the 2nd Amendment.......I would expect tepid support of "Religious Freedom" laws at States levels, likewise opposition to late term abortion....
  21. -But- demagoguery was a keystone of Clinton's campaign, fueled by the media, liberal Hollywood, special interests and of course the establishment........both the Democratic and Republican establishments lost touch with the people and in turn, this election. I wouldn't bet on him delivering on even a 1/3rd of the promises.......but it remains to be seen. W Bush held a majority in the Congress, Senate and the SC......actual social conservatives, unlike Trump, and the World didn't end. Trump won this election through populism, and I would think this trend will continue.........with that, I wouldn't be the least surprised if many of these red meat social issues will be handed over to the States (as was intended by the Founding Fathers).Without a doubt, he could fill upwards of four Supreme Court seats, the current vacant spot, Reagan's last pick and both of Bubba Clinton's picks based on age alone, resulting in a 7 of 9 seat Republican majority......which, as I said to Argus in another thread, will preclude activist judges from the bench, instead maintaining strict Constitutional judges. If Americans want new laws, elect lawmakers.......
  22. I don't think that........she, along with millions upon millions, have simply bought into the demagoguery that is partisan politics........
  23. And around the World....just think of all the leaders that laughed off or slagged Trump, including Trudeau. As I said countless times, Trump wouldn't have been my first choice (or 2nd, 3rd and 4th), but there is something poetic in this win......I don't think the American people so much voted for Trump, more so, voted out the establishment and elites.......and to think, if the DNC hadn't of sandbagged Bernie Sanders, he may have very well of had a similar result.
  24. Clinton just called Trump to concede......time for President elect Trump to start making America great again!

  25. Well the AP and now FOX have called it.........President Donald J Trump
