It's a flag, not paint. Just to reiterate. -

Whatever you say Shady. -
An interesting article posted in the Financial Post: "Why Canada Might Have the Goods to Become a Superpower" It's a good read and I'll highlight some of the comments: - Canada has three huge, fundamental strengths that will almost certainly be telling in the long run. These are natural resources, good government and an almost unbelievably tolerant and open culture. - Its percentage of arable land, at 4.6 per cent, is relatively small, but this probably will increase as climate change proceeds and the glaciers retreat. Basically, there is room for a lot more people in Canada. Basically, there is room for a lot more people in Canada. - Canada’s strong institutions have allowed it to implement less controversial economic policies, such as a low corporate tax rate (15 per cent, compared with the U.S.’s 35 per cent). Basically, Canada can usually get things done a lot better than the U.S. - The country’s Federal Skilled Worker Program assigns prospective immigrants “points” based on language skills, education, work experience, age, existing job offers and a catch-all category called “adaptability.” This is a program for permanent immigration, unlike the U.S.’s H-1B program for temporary guest workers. His closing remarks: "So keep an eye on the big country to the north — it could be headed for very important, very good things. And in the meantime, the U.S. should think about reforming its creaky institutions to keep up." I would say all worthy comments for Canadians to be proud of.

The decline and fall of the 'H' word "Please use gay or lesbian to describe people attracted to members of the same sex. Because of the clinical history of the word "homosexual," it is aggressively used by anti-gay extremists to suggest that gay people are somehow diseased or psychologically/emotionally disordered – notions discredited by the American Psychological Association and the American Psychiatric Association in the 1970s. Please avoid using "homosexual" except in direct quotes. Please also avoid using "homosexual" as a style variation simply to avoid repeated use of the word "gay." The Associated Press, The New York Times and The Washington Post restrict use of the term "homosexual" http://www.glaad.org/reference/offensive It's absurd to you because you don't get it. -

Well of course that is where you are wrong. It's negative when they don't want to be called that and when they are it is usually from anti-gay individuals. -

Canada's immigration policy recruits the best and the brightest to help our economy. You are just in a state of fear mongering and no one is buying it. -

I have no clue what you are talking about. Provide more substance to your one liner. -

You really need to educate yourself on the gay community. Using homosexual is like using coloured or a cripple. Im not holding this against you. Many seniors use coloured still because they are not aware that this word is no longer used. Please tell me that this is so in your case. Otherwise I will assume that you are anti gay. -

You are right. If you read between the lines you can see the contempt for the LGBT community. I would suggest to them that they come visit Vancouver during pride week and observe the families lined up 6 deep to watch the parade and celebrate in the festivities. The number of people watching the parade actually outnumbers the population of Vancouver city. -

It's Actually a flag that will be draped over the bridge. And it will be displayed during pride week in Vancouver. Pride week includes a parade with over 600,000 individuals watching the parade. As you can see the city of Vancouver has lots of support towards the lgbt community. And honestly do some posters really need to use the term homo? Incredible that people still use that word. -

I'm pretty sure the cost of painting a bridge pales in comparison to upgrading our transit system. Do you live in this community? Just curious?
