A bit like the bias that Aboriginal people are lazy, and prone to substance abuse. Susan Aklukark is a positive female role model. I saw her perform in Saskatchewan several years ago. "old billy" is a reference to William Shakespeare, more specifically the line in Henry VI, Part II: CADE I thank you, good people: there shall be no money; all shall eat and drink on my score; and I will apparel them all in one livery, that they may agree like brothers and worship me their lord. I think that perfectly addresses the residential schools issue. Plus their children was brought up in that house where the mom or dad was abused, so they learn to live like that. It takes a lot of strength for one individual to rise above it. Quote
