Adelle Posted August 28, 2007 Report Posted August 28, 2007 I think it would be great if Obama and Clinton got in. It would obliterate two cultural barriers and could they really do a worse job than GWB? Quote "Truth is hard to find, harder to recognize and, often, even harder to accept." Adelle Shea
buffycat Posted August 28, 2007 Report Posted August 28, 2007 I think you all might want to check the stats again. While Obama has quite a few votes - the second runner up is certainly NOT Clinton (thank goodness) - but the most honourable Dr. Paul!!! Obama = 6630 Paul = 5806 Clinton = 1272 Go Ron!! buffycat Posted August 28, 2007 Report Posted August 28, 2007 could they really do a worse job than GWB? Oh yeah they could. It's oddly the case that the loss of civil libs occurs drastically under Democrat rule. Clinton has as much blood on his hands as either of the Bushes. (I am in NO way a neocon Bush supporter btw). Another interesting tidbit wrt Hitlery - she has managed to seal all records of any meeting she had while she was first lady - gee Hilly whatcha hidin? She is a warmonger with the best of them. The Americans have the same problem we do - the major parties are simply two sides of the same coin. Dr. Paul is the ONLY one who is advocating a return to constitutional government - he is such a breath of fresh air. Quote "An eye for an eye and the whole world goes blind" ~ Ghandi

Yea, speaking of coin, Ron Paul is also advocating a US return to the gold standard. He has lots of investments in gold. I saw a bit of Dr. No on C-SPAN the other day....he will never be elected President of the USA, for alas, real votes and electoral votes mean a lot more than "internet" votes. buffycat Posted August 28, 2007 Report Posted August 28, 2007 That's fine BC and it is of course your opinion - for what it's worth. Part of the problem for Paul is that he is ignored by the mainstream press to a very large degree - which of course begs the question - who really 'elects' our leaders? One cannot dismiss the role of media, and with its concentration into a very few elitist hands - esp in the last decades - and how it effects the 'pre-screening' of candidates. It is interesting to see how the internet and younger generations are effecting this age old PR machine known as mass media - I think you may be surprised - as some of the recent straw poles have shown wrt Paul. I agree though that sadly he won't be elected, and that is not due to the manufactured idea that Dr. No has nothing to offer - it's due to the fact that what he does offer scares the bejezuss out of the established 'elties' who want the status quo to remain - again esp wrt the sickening turn which US foreign policy has taken, again over the last decades (no matter if a Dem, like Clinton is in power or a so-called Republican like Bush 1 and 2 - though please I pray - anyone but Hillary *gack*). Then why do you persist in pretending that Ron Paul is viable? US foreign policy is the same as it ever was, not just the last "few decades". The USA is bigger than any president or his policies, good or bad, and the likes of Ron Paul have got zero chance of changing that. The whole idea of "internet voting" is about as clever as "American Idol" voting, and equally as meaningful for important matters of the world. No matter who wins, he/she will still be an American. kimmy Posted August 29, 2007 Report Posted August 29, 2007 If elected, Ron Paul would be the first gynecologist to become US President. Numerous proctologists have been president, however. -k Quote (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ Friendly forum facilitator! ┬──┬◡ノ(° -°ノ)
richardson Posted September 3, 2007 Report Posted September 3, 2007 (edited) Lucky for the United States, only United States citizens registered to vote in the United States can vote in our elections. I doubt that the United States will see Barack Obama or Ron Paul as our next President. Mike Richardson forums.resourcesforattorneys.com Edited September 3, 2007 by richardson Quote
