jdobbin Posted August 27, 2007 Report Posted August 27, 2007 (edited) http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20459457/ WASHINGTON - Alberto Gonzales, the nation’s first Hispanic attorney general, announced his resignation Monday, driven from office after a wrenching standoff with congressional critics over his honesty and competence.Republicans and Democrats alike had demanded his departure over the botched handling of FBI terror investigations and the firings of U.S. attorneys, but President Bush had defiantly stood by his Texas friend for months until accepting his resignation last Friday. “After months of unfair treatment that has created a harmful distraction at the Justice Department, Judge Gonzales decided to resign his position and I accept his decision,” Bush said from Texas, where he is vacationing. Seems to me that his departure was self-inflicted. Quite a few Republicans actually welcomed his departure. Edited August 27, 2007 by jdobbin Quote
Topaz Posted August 28, 2007 Report Posted August 28, 2007 Only question unanswered, will Cheney and Bush be impeached after the election?? Well, I think they should be BUT they are multi-millionaries and have people in high places so I don't think so. I do think they could be charged with war crimes and it wouldn't surprise me that another country would bring this against them after they leave office! Quote

Not going to happen.....was PM Chretien ever indicted for his "war crimes"? Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
kimmy Posted August 28, 2007 Report Posted August 28, 2007 I wonder if some country would be stupid enough to actually attempt such a thing. Hey, maybe Hugo Chavez or Mahmoud Aminajinabinajad can try that. It'll get their clueless idiot citizens all excited, and do the same for clueless idiots right here at home. What I wouldn't give to see clueless idiots wandering around in Mahmoud Aminajinabinajad t-shirts. Yes, it sounds like Alfredo's injuries were self-inflicted. -k Quote (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ Friendly forum facilitator! ┬──┬◡ノ(° -°ノ)
