For his efforts, Don Wilkinson got the brush-off from Revenue Minister Carol Skelton, a curt lecture from two senior officials of her department and a revealing glimpse of how Stephen Harper's government works. Wilkinson, a retired insurance broker living in Mississauga, files income tax returns for about 60 seniors and people with disabilities. He has been doing it for 25 years. He charges a nominal fee and ensures that his clients get all the benefits they deserve, no matter how many letters, phone calls and faxes it takes. His dealings with Canada's last 14 ministers of national revenue – Liberal and Conservative – have ranged from courteous to cordial. They turned chilly in February of 2006. -end quote How can an elected Minister be so cold to one of it's voters? Not to mention a devoted member of the Con party? M.Dancer Posted July 5, 2007 Report Posted July 5, 2007 An elected MP doing other taxes (for a fee)? Is the fellow nuts? This does not look good on the Tory candidate selection process. Quote RIGHT of SOME, LEFT of OTHERS If it is a choice between them and us, I choose us
ScottSA Posted July 5, 2007 Report Posted July 5, 2007 Lol...if the NDP had caught wind of this before the Tories did, Hiti would be outraged at the "corruption" involved in this moonlighting. Quote
Michael Bluth Posted July 5, 2007 Report Posted July 5, 2007 The guy's not an MP. This non-story 'story' just goes to show where the Star's sympathies lie. Quote No one has ever defeated the Liberals with a divided conservative family. - Hon. Jim Prentice

Also goes to show where this "newish" governments sympathies lie..... and it's not with the common guy/gal. W'all can get lost and just come out on election day so Stevie can have his majority and continue to sc**w over Canada and Canadians. No. Y'all can contact the Canada Revenue Agency just like every other citizen. It's the Liberals who do special favours for their party stalwarts.
