BayLee Posted February 20, 2007 Report Posted February 20, 2007 Apparently sending over 3100 American soldiers to their death because of lies is OK by the Americans... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Pentagon officials undercut the intelligence community in the run-up to the U.S. invasion of Iraq by insisting in briefings to the White House that there was a clear relationship between Saddam Hussein and al-Qaida, the Defense Department's inspector general said Friday. Acting Inspector General Thomas F. Gimble told the Senate Armed Services Committee that the office headed by former Pentagon policy chief Douglas J. Feith took "inappropriate" actions in advancing conclusions on al-Qaida connections not backed up by the nation's intelligence agencies. "That was the argument that was used to make the sale to the American people about the need to go to war," Levin said in an interview Thursday. He said the Pentagon's work, "which was wrong, which was distorted, which was inappropriate … is something which is highly disturbing." Quote I Love My Dogs
newbie Posted February 20, 2007 Report Posted February 20, 2007 Yeah, and I like the lie saying those troops died to protect America's freedom. What a crock! But parents and signifcant others can't bear the thought that their son/loved one died for nothing. After all it's how Bush sleeps at night. Quote

newbie Posted February 20, 2007 Report Posted February 20, 2007 The captured documents prove they were right all along. Uh, don't think so: "Our view is there's nothing in here that changes what we know today," said a senior intelligence official, who would discuss the program only on condition of anonymity because the director of national intelligence, John D. Negroponte, directed his staff to avoid public debates over the documents. "There is no smoking gun on W.M.D., Al Qaeda, those kinds of issues." link Plus there was many forgeries in with the mix to be cherry picked by the likes of Limbaugh et at. Nice try B. Max. Quote

How can they say they were forgeries if it would take decades to translate them or know what was in them. If they were forgeries they would not be released. Quote
GostHacked Posted February 20, 2007 Report Posted February 20, 2007 As it turns out they were absolutely correct. http://www.newsmax.com/archives/articles/2.../4/141421.shtml Newsmax? Oh yeah, they're reliable. Kind of a convenient time for this little bit to come out. I wonder why CNN and FOX and CBS and MSNBC are not reporting this. Figuring this would no doubt quell the minds of the masses with questions of the pre-war Iraq intelligence. I don't see that. It doesn't matter anyway. The captured documents prove they were right all along. On some days they say the intelligence was failed/handpicked On some days they say the intelligence was right on the money On some days they say the intelligence was failed/handpicked On some days they say the intelligence was right on the money back and forth..... why does this even need to happen? Stick with one fucking story and GO WITH IT... why do they constantly need to change what is said on a daily basis.... http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/02/16/...in2485525.shtml The disposition of the Pentagon hierarchy notwithstanding, both pre- and postwar assessments of the intelligence community's performance have justified putting more and more diverse minds against difficult national security problems than can be found behind the walls of government agencies. Every report of U.S. intelligence performance after a so-called intelligence failure points out the importance of considering alternative views and the significance of prominently displaying dissenting opinions in intelligence assessments. This is a proposition agreed upon by every politician who is currently whining about the alleged impropriety of the OSP's actions. Either competition, open minds and original thoughts are good or they are not: you cannot have it both ways. and this wonderful bit The government has admitted that it cannot fully and effectively analyze all the information it had gathered from Iraq — including reports that supported connections between Iraq and terrorists — and in fact they have stopped trying. So, like they say, you can't have it both ways. Also check CBS's website for the video titled ..... ........"Pentagon: Faulty Intelligence "................... So who is right B.MAX ??? Quote
gc1765 Posted February 20, 2007 Report Posted February 20, 2007 As it turns out they were absolutely correct.http://www.newsmax.com/archives/articles/2.../4/141421.shtml How many American troops died in the war from anthrax or mustard gas? How many died from other causes? Quote Almost three thousand people died needlessly and tragically at the World Trade Center on September 11; ten thousand Africans die needlessly and tragically every single day-and have died every single day since September 11-of AIDS, TB, and malaria. We need to keep September 11 in perspective, especially because the ten thousand daily deaths are preventable. - Jeffrey Sachs (from his book "The End of Poverty")
