mikedavid00 Posted January 16, 2007 Report Posted January 16, 2007 Much as I hate to do this. I did yank that post out of the blue, without looking any deeper. I did some other research on it, and while there are serious problems in the area, and the event occurred, it is very hard to find other sound sources backing up the "Christian" nature of the attack. Since 1994 I've been on the Internet and taking part in some sort of discussion. The above post is an extremely rare, rare, occurance that I've only seen maybe once or twice. Saturn take note. This is what being impartial, and intelligent is about and I have new respect for for MadMax. I've done the whole rediff.com thing back in the day. They would talk about Bush having secret meeting, how 1 in 5 Dr's in the US are south asian, how 1 in 4 children born on earth are Indian. How Bush had 'secret meetings'. How there were recent 'polls' in the US that showed people are anti bush (in 2002). When researching, I saw that litteraly these were just fabricated stories in order to excersise social brainwashing from the elites onto the 'pesants'. Then I realized why certain media organizations are taken as credible like CNN, Fox, BBC, and even Al Jazeer are noted to be impartial. Yes they have biases, but are the most impartial. The CBC is no longer considered a valid, credible source throught the media world. man i'm so drunk right now. I question if you really do fathom what "impartial" and "intelligent" really mean. I can only hope. Get off the hookah. Quote
jbg Posted January 16, 2007 Report Posted January 16, 2007 Unlike you who can't find his way into Ohio, I am Canadian and I happen to believe that this country is built by Canadians, not by Christians or by Jews. Now, if you can't take your ignorant ass to Ohio legally, can't you just cross the border illegally? Huh? Which Canadians that were not either Christians or Jews really helped build Canada? The Toronto 17? I suspect that very few of the Chinese workers who worked and died building our railroads were Christians... -k Surprisingly large numbers of Chinese in the US and Canada are Christian. I saw a large Chinese Christian church in Montreal (I think, so don't hold me to that). Quote Free speech: "You can say what you want, but I don't have to lend you my megaphone." I know of a big Vietnamese Christian church, and a Korean one as well, right here in one of the "whiter" major cities in North America. But what have the church-going habits of 21st century Asian-Canadians got to do with 19th century workers imported straight from mainland China? I'm not opposed to the idea that some of them might have been Christians, but it seems very likely that most of them were either Buddhists or followed traditional Chinese spiritualism. -k Quote (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ Friendly forum facilitator! ┬──┬◡ノ(° -°ノ)

It's common knowledge here in Toronto that you can't just go into any Christian church because a good, good portion of them only have services in Manderin or Cantonese. kimmy Posted January 17, 2007 Report Posted January 17, 2007 Without knowing, I'd make an educated guess that many of the Chinese informed enough to emigrate there were in regular contact with missionaries. Or maybe they just had contact with British Empire traders. Many were apparently recruited by Chinese businessmen in Vancouver and Victoria through old-country contacts. The theory that any significant number of them were Christians seems like pure conjecture. The question was "who, aside from Jews and Christians really helped build Canada?" Well, Canada might exist in a very different form today if the transcontinental railway hadn't been completed at the time it was. And the project simply wouldn't have been viable without thousands of workers willing to work for what white-folk of the day considered starvation wages. So I'd say the Chinese railroad workers contributed a lot to building Canada, and attempting to file them under either "Christian" or "Jewish" seems like an attempt to rationalize an obvious oversight. -k Quote (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ Friendly forum facilitator! ┬──┬◡ノ(° -°ノ)
