margrace Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 Interesting reading the news reports this morning, while the Conservatives are bragging that they skewed the election results in Montreal, the Liberals are bragging that they skewed the election in Alberta. Maybe Canadians are a little smarter than we thought. Quote

Well Dion might be that. Actually, I voted for Morton in the PC race, so as far away from Dinning and his big business as you can get. And I liked Kennedy for the Liberal race, so again, far away from big business. But ooooohh well. Compromise candidates are rarely the best for the party. gc1765 Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 And we got two very incompetent leaders out of both of it. Could be worse. The conservatives supposedly got rid of Rae. Would you rather him be the leader than Dion? And, I don't know much about Alberta provincial politics, but Stelmach seems to be a good "compromise" candidate dont you think? I know you supported Morton, but there are a lot of people in Alberta to the left of you who wanted Dinning...Stelmach seems to be the compromise. Quote Almost three thousand people died needlessly and tragically at the World Trade Center on September 11; ten thousand Africans die needlessly and tragically every single day-and have died every single day since September 11-of AIDS, TB, and malaria. We need to keep September 11 in perspective, especially because the ten thousand daily deaths are preventable. - Jeffrey Sachs (from his book "The End of Poverty")
uOttawaMan Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 Could there be any more spin? Quote "To hear many religious people talk, one would think God created the torso, head, legs and arms but the devil slapped on the genitals.” -Don Schrader
fellowtraveller Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 A vote for Morton is a vote for Jesus. Which is why he lost, and never had any real shot at winning. Give Albertans some credit, please. Quote The government should do something.
abcon99 Posted December 4, 2006 Report Posted December 4, 2006 Dion won because he was least crap of a bunch of crap candidates. Stelmach won because he is not fake, like lefty Dinning, and he is not far right like Morton. He is hardworking, honest, and Conservative. I liked Morton, but he was not going to win, things are too good in Alberta to rock the boat that much. Stelmach is good and on the right, but not radical as to cause party problem. Dinning is trash and it is great he lost. Besides come from behind, these two stories are completely different. Quote
