Argus Posted October 22, 2006 Author Report Posted October 22, 2006 You already posted this and I already responded. How many Jack Daniels you have today?Just because a person smokes marijuana does not mean they smoke it all day long. Sigggghhhh again... you fearmongers -- she's hooked on POT! I will however smoke one tonight when Hubby and I watch "Over the Hedge". "SKREEEEEEEE! POT SMOKIN' LEFTIST" g'night -- go for a walk -- it'll help lower your blood pressure. First, I'd like to remind you that in the thread about conservatives and women you remarked several times that you wish the old Tory party was still around, that you liked the old tory party. Well, McKay is the quintesential red Tory PCer. Second, I have to express some disappointment. In that thread you seemed remarkably different ; mature, respectful and at least somewhat thoughtful. Your attitude in this one is crass, adolescent and ignorant. gerryhatrick Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 Sexism against women is an insult. Draw your own connections, they're pretty obvious. And sexism against an MP in the House of Commons is more than just a personal attack. And if I am to aplogize to your wife then perhaps she needs to start apologizing to the thousands of wives out there who she has labelled an idiot. What's good for the gander.... "You already have her." Not definitive evidence of sexism against an MP in the House of Commons. The cnnections aren't obvious to anyone examining the evidence objectively. Again with the lawyer response. Nobody in the Country buys it Ricki, except partisans who would defend CPC MP's against anything short of murder, and perhaps even that. If you want to say it's not sexism, then be honest and come out and say calling her a dog was not sexism because that is what he did. cybercoma Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 gerry, I'm done humouring you with responses. You take a guy insulting his exgf as a sexist attack on all women and because my wife disagrees with you, you call her an idiot. She didn't call other women idiots, she said, "what kind of woman...." so on and so forth. I was calling oversensitive women, who take a personal insult towards another woman to be insulting towards them, idiots. Your personal attack on my family and I was completely uncalled for and refusing to apologize just shows what kind of person you are. Have fun trolling the other bait on these forums...I'm done playing your little game. Quote

He didn't have to use the word in doing so because someone else used the word and he referenced it and redirected it to Stronach. It isn't that plain and simple. "he referenced it and redirected it" how is that plain and simple? Canadian Blue Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 Or maybe I missed something....did your wife say that calling a woman a dog is not sexist? If it was directed towards the individual, then no it wasn't sexist, its a personal insult, similar to calling a man a pig, or a chauvinist. If Mackay had said all women are dogs, then that would be considered sexist. But he did not, so it wasn't a sexist remark. Quote "Keep your government hands off my medicare!" - GOP activist

You didn't answer because you knew that it is true. Here it is in another form: Man1: My dog is a good hunter. Man2 (pointing at Man1's wife in the kitchen): And she can cook too! Question: Is Man2 essentially calling Man1's wife a dog or not? According to you Ricki, the answer is no. betsy Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 What "right wing" attacked her on the Domi thing? Talk radio hosts. Some of the comments were pretty outrageous. Oh, I thought you meant the Conservative Party MPs attacked her. Because actually on MDuffy during that week of scandal with Domi....the journalists (most of whom are Liberal-leaning media members...and most of whom are women!) were all having a good laugh about the incident. When one commented that Belinda seem to attract attention to herself, the author of her book even acknowledge that Belinda seem to relish all the attention she gets. I think what was ugly about this affair of Belinda is the fact that a family was involved. This is not just the case comparable to that of a man chasing women....this is about a woman being accused of wrecking a home. This is soap opera material! Who loves soap? Who are the target audience for soap? What kind of scandal makes the ratings go high? Quote

This is not just the case comparable to that of a man chasing women....this is about a woman being accused of wrecking a home. This is soap opera material! Being a woman, I myself see red over incidents of scheming women trying to lure married men. I know some will say that married men ought to know better....which is true. But that doesn't let the femme fatale off the hook so easily. If you'd ask a wronged wife whose eyes would she prefer to scratch out first? I'd be betting she'd go for the woman. So speaking as a woman who put herself in the shoes of another woman...and as a wife in the shoes of another wife...facing someone like Belinda... ...with her being in the public eye...with all her money and power....I would say, she is a dog. But then, that is just my opinion of her based on all these scandals....which she found herself in. Quote
