Canada and the US are peopled largely by immigrants who, back in the 1800's and early 1900's, wanted to escape Europe's thousand years of wars, class/caste system, the monopolies and cartels, and other restrictions. We were brave people who wanted not the nannying cocoon of absolute or benevolent dictatorship/monarchy, but to trust ourselves and our ability to create greatness. Trudeau wanted to emulate Europe.
