Except that the Muslim religion and Christian religion are entirely different, where one has deep rooted belief in destroying anything that doesn't follow it's "laws" and the other believes in forgiveness, there's absolutely nothing to be worried about.

What baffles me is how liberals -- who have historically sided with the underdog of a dispute -- can support the Palestinians, Syrians, Iranians, etc who have been bullying Israel for years now. And how liberals -- traditionally against war -- can continue to support the opponents of Israel.

Because your read of the situation is all wrong. Israel has not granted "all the demands" made of them, nor have they been "bullied". Harrassed, yes, but the language of victimization is a bit tired.

On the contrary. One of the reasons why there's such support for Israel in this case is because it's such a blatant case. They LEFT Lebanon. Even the UN acknowledges they fufilled all their obligations and LEFT.

And all Hezbollah did was move up to the border and start firing rockets across. Gee, so much for peace in our time, eh? So the Israelis put up with that for a long time, while UNIFL solemnly reported on peace fire violations year after year, and then, after the rocket attacks were greatly stepped up, followed by an attack on a border patrol which killed 8 people and kidnapped two, the Israelis lashed out. Well, hey, hard to blame them.

Israel has continually bowed to the demands of these countries and as a result all the lands they've given back are being used to attack them.

That's due to Israel's failure to actually try to find anyone to work with to establish any kind of auhority in those areas.

It was Lebanon's responsibility to police THEIR side of the border, and they failed miserably. And these ongoing rocket atacks were hardly a surprise to anyone. The funiest thing is that lebanon is problably the most normal, peacefull and sane country in this regions, i know it doesnt mean much over there. The problem is war will never solve anything over there, because war = povrety and anger. Anger and povrety = religion,religion = war x 2.

Too bad we do not have an international organisationable to solve the political conflict and separate the israelians from the arabs, and therefore assure peace wich will bring wealth wich will bring peace and will make religions obsolete...

Who cares what their reaction is or was. The point is that the Lebanese government did NOTHING about it and by doing nothing so encouraged it.

If Israel doesn't want to assume some measure of responsibility for what happens in the territory they are occupying after they leave, then they shouldn't be surprised or angry at the predictable results. It's not like they were unaware that the Lebanese government at the time had the same backers as Hizbullah. So I guess it's possible that they were stupid enough to think the Syrian backed government would move against the Syrian backed Hizbullah. But I doubt it. So in the abscence of any state party willing to establish some kind of authority in the area, you get Hizbullah and, in tyeh case of Gaza, Hamas.

Finally SOMEONE in Canada REALLY understands why we should NOT be allowing people to just aimlessly come and settle here.

It's not due to racism, it's not due to cultural bagage (although it is a problem), the first and foremost thing is immigrants are over saturating our labour markets and creating underemployement and lower wages for Canadians already here.

In the US, this isn't a problem beecause you don't come to the US unless a comapany is sponsoring you in. Want to sponsor in your ailing mother? That's fine - you just need to put up a $15,000 bounty and she is not allowed to use the HMO system - you are responsible for getting her private insurance. That explains why sponsorship is extremely low in the US.

Even the illegal Mexican's aren't hurting the economy which is proven many times over. The economy is so good in the US, that American's won't stand in the field and pick oranges.

In Canada, a mass lie, a mass fiasco, a mass economical suicide is happening by letting these aliens into our Country and instantly giving them all our services that they never paid into.

(Side note: The top immigrants to Canada are 1)China 2)India 3)Pakistan. 70% are familly sponsored and not under skilled class. In the US, nearly all immigrants are there are temporary work permits that have a max life of 8 years and then the must leave unless they have a green card which most are NOT able to obtain without marriage to an American. This is why the US doens't have the problems we do.
