Judged by genocide, is Yahweh good or evil?

Gnostics say yes. We reject him the same way Moses did before entering the promised land. He had it with too much smashing of babies heads against stones. 

Christians tend to say no. They pray for Jesus to return to use Armageddon, another genocide, against his supposedly perfect creations. 

Can a God who can cure as easily as kill, but always chooses to kill, a good God?
