“American democracy” is no democracy!

America’s image of a democracy patron is ranking the lowest presently. Some American experts are exploring the problem. I think it’s clear as day. Americans just changed regimes in number of countries up to their liking bearing in mind American national interests. They see this as democracy. Naturally all the rest peoples see this as interference into their internal affairs, all those “colored revolutions” and “Arab springs”. They should lack brain absolutely to think any other way!

Now I read in FT that smart guys from Bush’s administration are ready “to rebuff” any attempts to oppose “American democracy drive”. They are set to employ “peaceful means” and that is boycotting, blockades, strikes and civil disobedience activities sponsored by American non-profit organizations and again meant to subdue non-loyal regimes.

It’s just loony bin! Do you like to live in it? Me not. They are going to make it further worse and “American democracy” further disgusting. I guess even some fans of America would at last see things with their eyes widely open.

So let’em go ahead on the way to the end of “American democracy”!

Please state how on earth America's democracy could be thought of as anywhere near as bad as ours.

America's democracy is "bad" simply because of either voter apathy or foolish pride on the part of the voter to never change his/her party (ie. I'm a democrat/republican and will be for life). Subsequently you get a 95-98% re-election rate for congress, and I think even presidents.

The problem is that democracy doesn't show it's true value until the people are truely passionate about something. They need a reason to vote or they either wont, or will just vote in the 'same-ol-shit'.

Right. No women may vote. No one under 40 may vote. no one who doesn't own vast tracks of land may vote. etc. etc.

I would prefer a monarch to an old style democracy.

Perhaps it could be said that the U.S. template for governing is sound, but it can only be as good as the people running it.

What troubles many is the way their Supreme court can look at the Constitution and decide it means something different than has been widely accepted since it was written. Then the intended design is replaced with a patchwork of changes which will add up to much less than the original.

You mean Old European democratic style like Yugoslavia, or most of eastern Europe up to 1989. The Europeans were certainly great civilized, democrats between 1914-1945.

Prior to 1960, the Europeans were very respectful of the indigenous governments and traditions in Africa and Asia.

The US troops in Afghanistan and Iraq want to come home. And they will. The US government is neither a colonizer nor an imperialist force.
