I recall very strongly the speech of Trudeau Snr in your Congress around 1978 or so.

Trudeau said, "Many Canadians applaud your baseball players in Montreal -yet most players are American."

"And yet you Americans applaud the New York Rangers - yet most players were born in Canada."

Wha wha wut is this about?

Taking sides - IMHO, Trudeau Snr understood this.

Obama should have said: "My election is to put negros in their place. And their place is in America."

Taking sides.

Canada is not a real country, it is a unincorporated territory of America. The people living there have a make believe identity called Canadians.

They are originally American colonist that sided with the crown and fled north, thus sharing common ancestry and culture with… Americans.

Disagree, strongly.

Unlike you Europeans/Americans, we Canadians have never had a civil war.

We get along.

That doesn’t make Canada a country nor justify any cultural differences with Americans.

Disagree. Strongly

Protestant Canadians have voted for a Franco Catholic candidate -and vice versa.

We Canadians cross lines.

====

In 2008, how many blacks voted for Bush Jnr?

In 1896, how many anglos voted for Laurier?

Do the numbers.

So what was JFK then ...

Are you highlighting how similar Canada is to America because that's where the facts lay. I find the Canadian reflex to being American comical. Grasp at straws all you want but at the end of the day, we live on the same Continent have the same ancestor and families across the border. You know what that makes Canadians, North AMERICANS

In 1960, how many Catholics voted for Nixon?

In 2008, how many Blacks voted for McGain?

In 1896, in a federal election in Canada, given the choice of a Catholic francophone, how many crossed lines and voted for an Anglo protestant.

This is Canada.

Kennedy was your first Catholic president. Biden your second. Both were Democrats.

Reagan was born Catholic but converted.

All your presidents have been Protestant - except for Kennedy and Biden.

Okay and? That makes us different from Canadians how? You do realize there’s not a lot of differences between our two countries yeah? A lot of people also have families on both sides of the border and share common ancestry with the pioneering settlers… The prairie provinces and the Great Plains state as an example. I would argue the same holds true for both costal provinces of Canada.

No, what’s illogical is having an arbitrary border that makes the people living north some how not Americans.
