blackbird Posted January 7 Report Posted January 7 Premier Eby of the BC NDP was asked about the NDP's amendment to DRIPA in 2021, but he refused to give a straight honest answer. The people of B.C. are the ones being effected by the BC NDP legislation called DRIPA that resulted in many people in Richmond BC having their properties now owned by the Cowichan band on Vancouver Island. It is long past time that Premier Eby and the NDP be honest with the people of B.C. and admit they made a huge mistake in bringing in that legislation. Instead Eby is being evasive and refusing to answer the media question. De Jong says NDP government disregarded concerns about Interpretation Amendment Act | Watch Quote
John Stone Posted January 7 Report Posted January 7 Although DRIPA was enacted in British Columbia, its principles and standards are recognized and implemented across Canada, and that includes federal legislation. ...........reconciliation is getting to resemble national flagellation. 2 Quote
herbie Posted January 8 Report Posted January 8 In spite of your loaded headline (as per usual) Eby said exactly the right thing with one error that too many people make. He was speaking on the south coast, where most people's gas is Alberta oil refined in Washington State. A refinery is needed down there, but people already objected to them abd sent them packing in the 1980a and 90s. He erred saying BC should build one as no one will accept building one with public money (kuz that'sa soshulizm) and too economically illiterate to grasp that private interests won't as it doesn'i make financial sense. EXACTLY THE SAME AS PIPELINFS. If you want to invest your cash into something that makes little or no return you're 100% free to go do so. You only need 10 years abd $5 -10 billion for a refinery or $25 billion for a pipeline. How quick you gonna start paying dividends earning $1 bbl transit or 10=20c/L refining? Quote
