August1991 Posted May 16 Author Report Posted May 16 In Canada, we do it the way Trump proposes. ===== I live in Quebec, Montreal. I cannot claim any of my provincial taxes, city taxes on my federal tax form. IOW, the Quebec government and the Montreal city governemt cannot foist costs to higher levels, other people. Quote
herbie Posted May 16 Report Posted May 16 In the late 1980s early 90s we shopped, visited and travelled lots in Wahington State and Oregon and they seemed to have way more taxes than we did in BC. On groceries, on restaurant meals, motels, even city taxes some places. Pretty mush the same here now, though metro sales taxes seem to be only around Vancouver on gas for transit funding. None can be written off for Income tax. Although in BC if you are so brokeass poor you can't buy so much as a bubble gum, you qualify for a $75 provincial sales tax rebate. Quote
