Boges Posted March 25 Report Posted March 25 (edited) This show is being pegged as the the leader in the Clubhouse as best TV show of the year. British miniseries about a 13-year-old boy accused of murdering a classmate. It's impeccably acted and captivated. The above trailer highlights the main conceit of the show. This manosphere, toxic masculinity, incel, Andrew Tate, 80/20 rule etc. As a parent it's terrifying that today's internet is making some kids into monsters that think women are the enemy. The parents are portrayed as, though not perfect, very loving. The internet is the guilty party here and what it does to impressionable minds. It's a show like this that will hopefully make parents be more mindful of what children consume online. Parents need to make children aware of the manosphere and how toxic it is. I think if a parent's child shows an affinity for Andrew Tate, some serious actions need to be taken. Edited March 25 by Boges 1 Quote

The father's working hours, his attitude to his son's apparent lack of masculinity(soccer games), the mother's constant acquiescence to the father, bullying online and off, and the son's (like his father's) explosive anger. Great show, but they could have gotten a lot more in if they hadn't made every episode a single shot. A lot of time wasted watching someone walk up or dawn stairs. Definitely agree on the Andrew Tate comment! Quote
User Posted Wednesday at 12:43 AM Report Posted Wednesday at 12:43 AM Yeah... toxic masculinity was not what I took away from this show. The entire theme was that the kids, all of them, even the girls, were out of control. They were left to their own devices on social media with clueless parents. The teachers were all struggling to maintain any semblance of control in school and the classrooms. Andrew Tate is a pig, but he is the symptom; boys need to know it is OK to be masculine and manly. Andrew Tate poisons minds because he is filling that void in their lives and then twisting it with perversion. Quote

Extremely painful when it came to the van ride to the hardware store. I get they were going for a certain bit of artistry, but I think they could have gotten that with just one continuous shoot of the therapy session with the boy. That one made the most sense. 1 Quote
